I loved their friendship - polished Diana bonding with awkward Barbara, two lonely women bringing light to each other's lives - but I also loved them as enemies. And I'm also intrigued by the idea of them being romantically and/or sexually attracted to each other. Somewhere in the whole mess of that they could have a really complicated, interesting relationship, full of intense feelings that they maybe can't (or don't want to) define. Diana had so much compassion for Barbara even when they were enemies, and maybe that'd lead them to be enemies plus something else. Barbara's greatest wish was literally to be Diana, so maybe there'd be some hero worship there, no matter the status of their relationship. Aggression, forgiveness, penitence, loneliness, support, jealousy and/or attraction could combine into something confusing but intense that neither wants to give up.
Etta Candy and Diana Prince
I love that Diana was so instantly accepting of Etta, even though she wasn't a strong, highly trained Amazon - she valued Etta as her own person, valued what she brought to the table. And Etta appreciated Diana too, without jealousy, even as she was awed by her everything. Judging by the photograph in the second film, they're lifelong friends. How intense does their friendship become over the decades? Does it ever verge on - or tip over into - romance or sex? Does another adventure, or some strange magic, push them together in new and (emotionally or physically) intimate ways? Maybe Diana's immense compassion leads to her comforting Etta during an intense moment that neither wants to define.

Considering the time period, Steve was unusually supportive of and reliant on Etta - and despite her jokey complaints, I think Etta appreciated Steve's trust in her. Did Steve taking her seriously make Etta feel seen in a way nobody else had? Did that spark a warmth in her heart that she couldn't (or wouldn't) name? Before Diana arrived, Steve was so jaded and resigned to the grind of war, even as he kept pushing himself on. If they had more opportunity to bond as a three, where would their relationship end up going? Especially if they had more adventures together. Would the dangers force them to rely on each other for support or comfort - prompting an intensity of feeling, creating an unbreakable bond forged in the fires of shared peril?
(For this request I'm fine with Diana/Steve being unambiguously a couple, while the relationships between Diana-Etta and Steve-Etta are platonic or ambiguous - as long Diana and Steve each have the same feelings for Etta as she has for them, and they all value every side of the triangle as much as the others. Edgin definitely turned on all his charm when trying to recruit Doric, and as a bard it seems natural for him to ride the line of flirty and persuasive, putting on such a polished performance that the recipient (and maybe Edgin himself) can't tell if it's earnest or an act. Doric seemed immune to his charm when they first met, but maybe now they have a genuine emotional connection she'd slowly find herself feeling a confusing flutter in his presence.
But I'd also enjoy something more sincere between them: I loved the tender moment when Edgin was sitting on the rock on the beach - his little smile as she walked over, the way she gently patted his shoulder and he patted hers in return, and she smiled back - and maybe a quest together, or some strange magic, would push them into another scenario where they have to support or comfort each other. Edgin is so supportive of Simon and so determined to get him to believe in himself - but his encouraging speeches are always accompanied by pats to the shoulder or touches to Simon's face, in a way that always reads as ambiguously shippy to me. Simon resents this, but also follows Edgin into so much danger, even if he's nervous or grumbling. There's a trust and a bond between them, even if it sometimes frays, even if Edgin is hiding his true feelings.
I'd love to see something platonic and intense, something ambiguously romantic or sexual, or something sexual but ambiguously romantic. Feel free to set it pre-Korinn's Keep, during the film itself, or afterwards. Pavel Chekov and James T. Kirk
Chekov is so fucking adorable. I love his earnest enthusiasm, his innocence, and his extreme competency despite his age - and how that fits with Kirk, who's older, more traumatised, and chafes against the rules, but strives to protect his crew. They work so well together, and I really enjoyed how much of Beyond was just the two of them out in the wilds, with a slightly more mature Chekov showing he can handle himself in the field. I'd love to see the dangers of space adventures push them into a scenario where they have to rely on each other for support or comfort, maybe blurring the boundaries of what's "appropriate" between a captain and his young ensign.
If they're having sex due to a dubcon scenario (e.g. sex pollen, omegaverse heat) you can set it any time after Chekov turns 18, but if there's something ambiguously romantic going on please set it during or after Beyond, i.e. when Chekov is 22 or older.
(No preference for whether you call them Jim/Pavel or Kirk/Chekov, use what you prefer.)
James T. Kirk and Christopher Pike
I love that Pike was the first one to believe in Kirk - and the one who got Kirk to believe in himself. He finds this young guy losing a bar fight and tells him he can do more, be better, live up to not only his potential but his father's legacy. And Kirk hears that challenge and says no, I'll do even better than that.
But there's a tension between them: Pike encourages Kirk's out-of-the-box thinking and urge for heroics, but also expects him to follow the rules (or at least know which rules to break and when). Kirk respects him, wants his approval, wants to excel, but he's used to rebellion and reckless behaviour and is willing to risk more than other people are comfortable with. There's this push and pull where they're trying to find where the line should fall, and maybe that could play into an ambiguous relationship: unsure if what's between them is "appropriate", unable (or unwilling) to define what it is and what it means, blurring the lines between leader and subordinate, friends and something else.
If you set this during or after Into Darkness please go AU and have Pike live! (No preference for whether you call them Jim/Christopher or Kirk/Pike, use what you prefer.)
Amaya and Asha
These two were so supportive of each other, and worked so well once they teamed up. You could definitely read some symbolism into Amaya becoming ruler and Asha becoming wishmaster - splitting Magnifico's old roles between them. But I loved the scene before Asha's interview, with Amaya calmly preparing and encouraging Asha, even gently holding her hands - and for all her quirky awkwardness, Asha seemed very comfortable with Amaya even then. And that hug she gives Amaya just before the crowd proclaims her queen! What kind of relationship is going to develop between them now, as they work together to make Rosas the best place it can be?
Asha and Magnifico of Rosas
These two literally sang a duet that was a hair's breadth from being a love song, right after opening up about their childhood losses. I was very into the idea of them being master and apprentice, so if you wanted to do an apprentice AU I'd be down with that. But their left turn towards enmity was also really interesting, with Magnifico becoming more and more manipulative as Asha became more determined and sure of herself. Asha seems to be one of the few women who doesn't have a thing for Magnifico, but would longterm interaction up close lead her to developing some fluttery feelings - whether that interaction takes place in his study, her prison cell, or around the castle as penitent Magnifico tries to atone for his actions under the book's influence?
Honestly, I found Magnifico himself pretty ambiguous, like they couldn't decide what his motivation was. Like whether he was a purely evil villain powered by arrogance and a need for control, or whether he was a sympathetic antagonist crushed by the pressure of kingship and past trauma. Either one could lead to a very intense and confusing relationship with Asha: evil Magnifico manipulating Asha into intimate scenarios that leave her unsettled, blurring the boundaries of the appropriate and the taboo; or sympathetic Magnifico tugging on her heartstrings, leaving Asha unsure if she wants to defeat him or save him. They can easily exist at the conflux of allies and antagonists and a forbidden attraction.
If there is an attraction between them, even unspoken, please either make this an AU where Asha is already 18, or have a time skip so she's an adult. And please either give Magnifico and Amaya an open relationship, or make it an AU where they were never a couple... Unless you're going with fully evil, corrupted by green magic Magnifico, in which case I'm fine with him cheating on Amaya and/or nonconning Asha. Otherwise, make any sexual contact dubcon or consensual, please.
(If Magnifico's a sympathetic figure who turns to darkness, please leave the door open for redemption. But fully evil Magnifico doesn't need redemption - in fact, I'm fine with a Villain Wins AU.)

- One of them gets injured, and Xenk can't heal them because spell slots/anti-magic cuffs/reasons. The other gently comforts them - holding them close, rubbing their back, whispering soft words, kissing their cheek or forehead, etc.
- Or Doric gets injured in an intimate area (groin, upper thigh, breast, etc) and Xenk needs to physically touch the wound to heal her. Or Xenk's the one with an injury in an intimate place, and can't heal himself, so Doric has to apply some healing herbs.
- Due to injury or illness, Doric collapses - and Xenk catches her before she hits the ground, arms pulling her close, thoroughly concerned. Or maybe she only wobbles, and he has to help her walk, pressing close together.

Edgin definitely turned on all his charm when trying to recruit Doric, and as a bard it seems natural for him to ride the line of flirty and persuasive, putting on such a polished performance that the recipient (and maybe Edgin himself) can't tell if it's earnest or an act. Doric seemed immune to his charm when they first met, but maybe now they have a genuine emotional connection she'd slowly find herself feeling a confusing flutter in his presence.
But I'd also enjoy something more sincere between them: I loved the tender moment when Edgin was sitting on the rock on the beach - his little smile as she walked over, the way she gently patted his shoulder and he patted hers in return, and she smiled back - and maybe a quest together, or some strange magic, would push them into another scenario where they have to support or comfort each other. I'd love to see something platonic and intense, something ambiguously romantic or sexual, or something sexual but ambiguously romantic. (If they end up blurring - or outright crossing - the lines of sexual or romantic attraction, please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. There's a trust and a bond between them, even if it sometimes frays, even if Edgin is hiding his true feelings.

Xenk is so kind, so brave, so protective, but he struggles with social interaction - I can see him finding it hard to express his feelings, maybe even hard to categorise his own feelings. And maybe awkward, inexperienced Simon would be dazzled by this legendary paladin in a way he can't quite define.

Pavel Chekov and James T. Kirk
Chekov is so fucking adorable. I love his earnest enthusiasm, his innocence, and his extreme competency despite his age - and how that fits with Kirk, who's older, more traumatised, and chafes against the rules, but strives to protect his crew. They work so well together, and I really enjoyed how much of Beyond was just the two of them out in the wilds, with a slightly more mature Chekov showing he can handle himself in the field. I'd love to see the dangers of space adventures push them into a scenario where they have to rely on each other for support or comfort, maybe blurring the boundaries of what's "appropriate" between a captain and his young ensign.
If they're having sex due to a dubcon scenario (e.g. sex pollen, omegaverse heat) you can set it any time after Chekov turns 18, but if there's something ambiguously romantic going on please set it during or after Beyond, i.e. when Chekov is 22 or older.

James T. Kirk and Christopher Pike
I love that Pike was the first one to believe in Kirk - and the one who got Kirk to believe in himself. He finds this young guy losing a bar fight and tells him he can do more, be better, live up to not only his potential but his father's legacy. And Kirk hears that challenge and says no, I'll do even better than that.
But there's a tension between them: Pike encourages Kirk's out-of-the-box thinking and urge for heroics, but also expects him to follow the rules (or at least know which rules to break and when). Kirk respects him, wants his approval, wants to excel, but he's used to rebellion and reckless behaviour and is willing to risk more than other people are comfortable with. There's this push and pull where they're trying to find where the line should fall, and maybe that could play into an ambiguous relationship: unsure if what's between them is "appropriate", unable (or unwilling) to define what it is and what it means, blurring the lines between leader and subordinate, friends and something else.
If you set this during or after Into Darkness please go AU and have Pike live! (No preference for whether you call them Jim/Christopher or Kirk/Pike, use what you prefer.)
Amaya and Asha
These two were so supportive of each other, and worked so well once they teamed up. You could definitely read some symbolism into Amaya becoming ruler and Asha becoming wishmaster - splitting Magnifico's old roles between them. But I loved the scene before Asha's interview, with Amaya calmly preparing and encouraging Asha, even gently holding her hands - and for all her quirky awkwardness, Asha seemed very comfortable with Amaya even then. And that hug she gives Amaya just before the crowd proclaims her queen! What kind of relationship is going to develop between them now, as they work together to make Rosas the best place it can be?
Asha and Magnifico of Rosas
These two literally sang a duet that was a hair's breadth from being a love song, right after opening up about their childhood losses. I was very into the idea of them being master and apprentice, so if you wanted to do an apprentice AU I'd be down with that. But their left turn towards enmity was also really interesting, with Magnifico becoming more and more manipulative as Asha became more determined and sure of herself. Asha seems to be one of the few women who doesn't have a thing for Magnifico, but would longterm interaction up close lead her to developing some fluttery feelings - whether that interaction takes place in his study, her prison cell, or around the castle as penitent Magnifico tries to atone for his actions under the book's influence?
Honestly, I found Magnifico himself pretty ambiguous, like they couldn't decide what his motivation was. Like whether he was a purely evil villain powered by arrogance and a need for control, or whether he was a sympathetic antagonist crushed by the pressure of kingship and past trauma. Either one could lead to a very intense and confusing relationship with Asha: evil Magnifico manipulating Asha into intimate scenarios that leave her unsettled, blurring the boundaries of the appropriate and the taboo; or sympathetic Magnifico tugging on her heartstrings, leaving Asha unsure if she wants to defeat him or save him. They can easily exist at the conflux of allies and antagonists and a forbidden attraction.
If there is an attraction between them, even unspoken, please either make this an AU where Asha is already 18, or have a time skip so she's an adult. And please either give Magnifico and Amaya an open relationship, or make it an AU where they were never a couple... Unless you're going with fully evil, corrupted by green magic Magnifico, in which case I'm fine with him cheating on Amaya and/or nonconning Asha. Otherwise, make any sexual contact dubcon or consensual, please.
(If Magnifico's a sympathetic figure who turns to darkness, please leave the door open for redemption. But fully evil Magnifico doesn't need redemption - in fact, I'm fine with a Villain Wins AU.)
Narrative Prompts
- Apprentice AU: Magnifico asks for Asha's help casting a spell which requires intimate contact between them, to the point you can't help but ask "Is magic just weird or is he grooming her?"
