General Notes:

My prompts are just a starting point - you don't have to stick to them. For many scenarios I've suggested multiple possibilities, but feel free to take it in a direction I didn't think of; or to combine half of prompt A with half of prompt B; or to ignore my prompts entirely and pick something from my likes list, including the broad ones like fluff or hurt/comfort. You can also write a work based on a visual prompt, or use a narrative prompt to create a comic - or an illustration of a moment from that prompt.
Some canons I request are part of larger franchises or have multiple adaptions. Unless otherwise noted, I prefer fanworks not to mix the canons; I would rather each one be seen as entirely separate. As an example, I wouldn't want book-only events to be assumed canon for a movie in which they aren't mentioned - though throwing the movie characters into a similar situation and seeing how they respond could be fun. For fandoms where I do consider sequels to be canon, it'll be noted in that fandom's info section.
I'm open to trans headcanons for any character. If they mainly appear in canon as an adult, I want them to stay the same gender - so a canon male character would be a trans man, not a trans woman. If they mainly appear in canon as a child or teen, I tend to be more flexible about whether their gender matches the one assigned in canon - which means they could be a trans girl, a trans boy, nonbinary, genderfluid, bigender, agender, etc. Though I do have specific trans headcanons for some characters; if so, it'll be mentioned in the request. If the character realises they're trans during the fanwork, I'm fine with the pronouns changing then. If the character regularly switches between multiple pronouns, please use the same pronoun within one paragraph, but alternating between paragraphs is fine. For smut, I'm fine with the characters having any parts and using any words for those parts.
If I haven't mentioned a top/bottom preference, I don't have one for that ship - I see most characters as versatile. Likewise, I can see most characters as either dom or sub, though I prefer them to stick to one role within a scene - but they can switch roles for different scenes. (Unless it's a biological BDSM AU, where I want the characters to adhere to their designation.) And again with omegaverse, I don't mind which is omega and which is alpha - including female alpha/male omega pairs.

A Mini Primer for the Curious

Four plucky teens helped their local superhero in a climactic battle against his nemesis - and unexpectedly acquired superpowers themselves. Now they're the sole students at a fake school, secretly learning to protect their town, while keeping the truth from their families - and dealing with their new mentor's wacky behaviour.

This Nickelodeon sitcom is the lighter, softer, more queer-positive sibling of Henry Danger, to which it is a sequel. You could easily start with this show, as it quickly recaps the Danger Force kids' origin story, and they're the focus of this series. But while it expands the worldbuilding in fresh directions, it does also feature many returning villains, and their adult mentor makes frequent reference to his previous sidekick - so watching Henry Danger would give you more context. Rarely side-splitting but consistently amusing, this show is packed with superpowered action and heartwarming vibes - very enjoyable, even as an adult, as long as you're down with teen shenanigans and tropey silliness.

Characters

Mika (Dana Heath) is an eager nerd with a powerful scream, giving her the superhero name ShoutOut. She gets excited by homework and is serious about her new responsibilities, but still enjoys hanging out with her new crew.
Miles (Terrence Little Gardenhigh) is Mika's twin brother, a cool and laidback guy with the power to teleport. Instead of stressing out, he would rather let the universe bring the answer to him - which it usually does. His codename is AWOL.
Chapa (Havan Flores) is a gleefully violent girl with anger issues, who can summon lightning to her fingertips. Despite her lone wolf vibes, she's very attached to her team. Her superhero name is Volt and her tragic backstory is that a boy stole her beloved cellphone.
Bose (Luca Luhan) is a total sweetie who can move objects with his mind, despite having zero thoughts in his head. He has no idea who he is, where he is, what he's doing - but he's having a great time and he loves his new friends, and he's eager to help people as heroic Brainstorm.
Ray (Cooper Barnes) is their mentor, a middle-aged superhero and emotionally stunted man-child. At eight years old an accident made him indestructible, after which his father isolated him for superhero training to become Captain Man. Vain and volatile with a soft centre, Ray desperately misses his previous sidekick Henry - but with help from his new little buddies, Ray is learning how to have real feelings.
Schwoz (Michael D. Cohen) is a genius inventor and general oddball. Hailing from some unspecified but bizarre country, his friendship with Ray is longstanding but frequently contentious.
Buddy (Mitchell Berg) is a cheerful, polite boy with an intensely positive attitude. Masking up as Lil Dynomite, he's an acquaintance with hopes of becoming a real hero - if Ray will ever let him join in. Not in many episodes but I often request Buddy&Ray gen.

Notes on the Franchise

Henry Danger
I consider this to be canon and part of the same continuity as Danger Force. Feel free to reference characters, events and worldbuilding which only appear in Henry Danger. In the unlikely event you've seen Danger Force but not Henry Danger, you should still have all the info you need to create for my Ray friendship requests, or ships between Danger Force members. Though, while you're welcome to make jokes that Ray might be older than he says he is, I have a strong preference for the backstory established in The Danger Begins and Back to the Danger - that he was 8 years old when he was densitised in 1989. But I'm fine with other canon divergence, eg smoothing season 3 out, or Henry deciding to permanently return to Swellview.

Henry Danger: The Movie
I consider this to be canon and part of the same continuity as Danger Force. Feel free to reference characters, events and worldbuilding which only appear in the movie. But as it's a sequel, you can easily create for my Danger Force requests without having watched the film. I'm also fine with canon divergence, eg Ray doesn't retire at the end of season 3.

The Adventures of Kid Danger
I don't consider this to be canon for the live action continuity. Based on Toon in for Danger, it exists as a fictional cartoon within the live action universe. Feel free to mention the cartoon existing in that context. But please don't make any reference to any of the events or characters which only appear in the actual spinoff cartoon, even as being ones that happen as part of the fictional show-within-a-show.

The Thundermans
I love The Thundermans, but its superhero worldbuilding clashes with Danger Force in many many places, so they're clearly not part of the same continuity. Feel free to reference Thundermans characters and major events (even if they didn't appear in Danger & Thunder) but please use Henry Danger or Danger Force's worldbuilding as the truthful source for this request. (Unless you are creating for one of my specific Henry Danger/The Thundermans crossover requests, where figuring out how to merge the differing canons is an expected part of a crossover.)

Game Shakers
I don't consider this to be canon for the Dangerverse continuity. Please don't make reference to anything which wasn't part of Danger Games, including the Henry episodes of Game Shakers.

Knight Squad
This show already exists as an alternate universe within the Dangerverse, so it doesn't affect the main Dangerverse continuity either way. But I'm not looking for any further crossovers at this time.

Sam & Cat
This show is unofficially part of the same continuity as Danger Force, but I have not seen it and do not plan to watch it. If you make any reference to Sam & Cat canon, I will not grasp it. But I'm fine with mentions that Goomer knew Frankini's sister, as established in Henry Danger, with the implication that she is Cat Valentine.

Chapa De Silva/Mika Macklin

Mika is a proud nerd and I love that for her. Even when no one sees it that way, she'll wear her Hermione label as a compliment. Her love for school and learning might lead people to sigh that she's a killjoy - or lead her into a homework trap, where she gets grappled by Chapa - but she's open about her enjoyment. And honest about everything - sometimes painfully so, when she can't stop snitching, lmao. But she's reliably clever, and her friends really do rely on her plans, yet she has a vulnerable need to be appreciated. And her fervent attempts to seek approval show her determination, but also expose her vulnerability further - either because it causes shenanigans, or because Ray isn't the kind of mentor to readily praise her geeky achievements. But despite her mild reputation, Mika isn't a pure funsponge or total angel - she's the prank queen, and she's happy to wade into combat with the others, giving her more nuance.

Chapa is so excited for violence and I love that for her too. But they added some subtlety to her always-angry persona, with her becoming less stern and more playful over time, which I found adorable. I love the sarcastic way she says sorry (and I love that Mika imitated that at Drex) and how Chapa is completely unapologetic about who she is - refusing to bend to anyone else's demands, yet willing to follow those she believes in. If you want to include it, her missing-phone backstory plays fine as comedy, but it doesn't work well as drama for me. But I love that under her lone wolf attitude, Chapa clearly cares deeply about her group - even if she pretends not to, just like she pretends not to be from her sweetly loving family because it ruins her cool, tough image. Yet she's not afraid to mix up her pretty butch street style with more soft femme pieces. She's an icon and a contradiction all at once, but feels like a whole person.

Of the four kids, these two are the most different, and that produces some friction - but it starts more like bickering, which melts to fond banter in later seasons. They never feel like enemies, just sparky rivals, and there's trust and teamwork even in season one - growing deeper as they bond further. I love that Chapa trusted Mika to be a double agent during the prank war, and that Mika sent a secret message to her, trusting in turn that Chapa would come through. And in the series finale, Chapa fully believes that Mika will have a plan. Then it's Chapa battling the comet monster for Mika's soul, lightning versus screamed smoke; in the vortex of their combined powers, it's Chapa that first urges Mika to think about their bond and fight to be free. It's great symbolism, and a sign of how far they've come, how much they mean to each other now.

And they have some really cute little moments too! I love Chapa gently warming space-frozen Mika's hands with a sizzle, and Mika comforting Chapa after she's pranked with the Rivalton cheer outfit. They steady themselves on each other as they stumble out of Club Soda in Hey, Where's My Man Buggy? Chapa infodumping to Mika about Jacob's Coyote is a mood. And in Guardians of the Ponytail, delighted Mika asks, "You do voices now?" and Chapa playfully replies, "A little bit," before they both grin. Plus they've both complimented the other's smile. There are so many tiny adorable things sprinkled across the series. Between those soft moments, the deepseated trust, and the vibrant banter, I think these two would have a really fun and interesting relationship.

You could set this during the series or after it ends, and I'm fine with either getting together or established relationship, but please no underage sex. Feel free to include their parents, Miles, Bose, Ray, Schwoz, or even Buddy or Henry. My favourite villains are Drex and Rick Twitler (for serious threat), Jeff (for pure comedy) and Dr Minyak (for a mix of drama and silliness), but you're welcome to create your own baddy too. Please, no mentions of what the comet monster did to Ray though. But I'm fine with background Miles/Bose, Ray/Credenza and/or Henry/Ray, if you're so inclined, and I'm open to a wide range of genres here.

Narrative Prompts

These two fondly bickering their way through another adventure - or a snippet of adventure - would be great. From typical supervillain plots that they calmly deal with as they banter about another topic, to tropey shenanigans that throw them for a loop, I love seeing these two switch between squaring off and working in sync. Maybe they defeat a standard pack of goons, maybe they go undercover as a couple, maybe they get magically handcuffed together, maybe they accidentally get soulbonded and now they can hear each other's thoughts... There are so many fun possibilities!
Or maybe some softer fluff, with them teetering on the edge of romance, or already a couple. Holding hands as they slump on the couch after a hard mission, eating ice creams from that place by the beach, stealing giggly kisses when the boys aren't looking (or even when they are), going to a restaurant as their civilian selves, a lazy morning in bed together... Just some sweet tenderness showing as they dim their sharp facades.
I love hurt/comfort, and it could be a great way to bring them together, or get them to open up further. One of them could easily be injured in a fight, leading the other to protectively cradle her close. Or a supervillain sprays one with pain pollen, or something that causes nausea, and the other soothes her till it wears off. Maybe one of them has a nightmare! Danger Force is the softest part of the Dangerverse, but Henry Danger makes it clear that superhero life can be traumatising. A peril they defeated could easily return in their dreams, whether they're sharing a bed or just drifted off with their head on the other's shoulder.
Mutual pining is always good. In Chapa's Crush, Mika does consider that Chapa could be into a girl - but thinking she's into girls, and thinking she's into the girl she spends half her time threatening to zap... Those are two very different things, especially when Chapa is so closed off most of the time. And maybe Chapa would fear that goody-two-shoes Mika would never want more from her borderline-criminal friend, and bury those soft feelings under a layer of anger - or Chapa might simply be uncomfortable with the vulnerable act of confessing her heart. Or maybe emergency calls keep interrupting any attempt to put their cards on the table, and so they continue angsting in silence.
By the end of the series, they've barely had time to date, so they could both be virgins when they have their first time. Does Chapa get secretly wibbly about being so intimate? Maybe Mika tries to soothe her own nerves by doing immense amounts of research and then rambling through it all at Chapa. Maybe they plan a sweet first time. Maybe in the aftermath of a close call, the adrenaline sends them tumbling into bed together. Maybe one or both of them gets sex pollened, pushing them together when they weren't a couple yet!
There are some fun power dynamics between these two that could translate into the bedroom. Maybe Mika would try to bend Chapa's wild ways by dominating her, or tying her up. Maybe Chapa's no nonsense attitude would see her taking charge of Mika's pleasure. Maybe after a long day of thinking up clever strategies, Mika wants to surrender all choices to Chapa. Maybe Chapa is a bratty sub who secretly loves being tamed. Maybe Chapa keeps zapping people because she's into painplay?
A supervillain douses omega Mika in something that causes a heat, leading her to shakily plead with prickly alpha Chapa for help. Or maybe Mika feels too overwhelmed, too scared by the lack of control, and simply wants Chapa to hold her close and soothe her with that alpha scent. Maybe Chapa is a bratty omega and Mika is the steady alpha she urges to bed her - but is Mika worried about being responsible for Chapa like this? (I'm fine with alpha women having dual genitalia, including a knot, or just a pussy. Chase your joy.)

Ray Manchester & Bose O'Brien

Bose is just an absolute sweetie. The boy hasn't got a mean thought in his head - partly because he's got no thoughts in that head. He's just strolling through life, cheerfully oblivious, openly loving his friends and assuming the best of everyone. He's eager to help people, casually heroic, committed to his responsibilities... and despite how obviously popular he is, Bose has no ego at all - he even seems to think his dimples are ugly. Bose is just completely adorable and I love this cheerful airhead.

Meanwhile Ray is a total menace - he's arrogant, selfish and volatile. He shouldn't be so likeable, but I can't help but love him. Maybe it's just the actor's winning performance, but I think it really helps that Ray's harsher impulses are as ephemeral as Bose's train of thought - Ray is a good guy underneath it all. I think Ray's immaturity blends well with Bose's innocence too. But that childish personality is due to Ray's tragic backstory - isolated by his father from eight years old onwards, never allowed to develop socially, presumably put through a lot of pain and stress during training. That trauma explains so many things about Ray, and makes him very sympathetic to me. And maybe it means Ray would sympathise with how the Vice Mayor treats his stepson - or Bose would understand a little if Ray actually explained his past, instead of randomly spilling uncomfortable angst occasionally.

Ray is rarely open about his sincere affections, but Bose is just such a darling that even Ray can't hide how much he cares about his "favourite one"; I love that Ray calls him "Sweet Bosey" - and that in turn Bose respectfully calls him sir or boss, or fondly calls him "Cappy", which is again so cute. Ray even picks Bose to be in charge of his man-genda, despite Bose being the least qualified assistant - but who else would be so gentle in steering Ray through his schedule? And I love how much Bose loves getting to be useful like that. Bose is also so loyal and so caring - he tries to stop Ray eating the trick apple in The Thousand Pranks War; in Test Friends, Bose declares he would've eaten a scorpion hornet to save Ray's life, and refuses to obey when 'Future Bose' tells him to destroy Ray, because "I love Ray too much"; Bose is even the one to stop Ray prematurely smashing his smashing vase in Earth to Bose. And Ray is loyal to Bose too: in Chapa's Phone Home, when Chapa is continually shocking Ray, he keeps quiet that Bose was actually the one responsible - till Bose himself risks Chapa's wrath to save Ray from that torture.

In fact, Ray is actually very protective of Bose. In Mime Games, when the team goes to France and Bose gets left behind alone, Ray is worried that Bose might be scared and hungry; Ray worries when pranked Bose falls unconscious in The Thousand Pranks War; and I love how stern Ray gets in Power Problems, refusing to put his little buddies in danger, actually wielding true authority for once to keep them safe. Then there's more from Chapa's Phone Home: Ray carefully pushing Bose behind him when he realises Chapa's about to learn about her phone, Ray actually being honest and delicate as he tries to smooth the situation before Chapa finds out. And the absolute delight that is Street Fightin' - Ray just instantly wanting to leap into murderous action the second he discovers some kid poured puree on his Sweet Bosey, then Ray going to comfort Bose by putting an arm around him... and Bose wrapping Ray in a full hug. Bose really brings out Ray's caring side, his most heroic urges. And they have such a sweet rapport! Bose genuinely respects Ray, calling him "so wise" - and trusting Ray with the secret of Chapa's phone. Ray ruffling Bose's hair in Drive Hard... That moment in Dude, Where's My Man Buggy? when Bose offers Ray his gloves but then playfully snaps the case at Ray's fingers... There's both a lot of little things and an overarching vibe of mutual affection, and I just think they're adorable.

Feel free to include the rest of Danger Force, Schwoz, Henry, Buddy, or Credenza. I'm fine with background Ray/Crendenza or Henry/Ray, but I think any romantic ships would mainly come up as pretext for jokes - and obviously I want the focus to be on Bose&Ray anyway. For canon villains, I'd love more Drex or Rick Twitler (for serious threat), Jeff (for pure comedy) and Dr Minyak (for a mix of drama and silliness) - or you could invent your own villain. And you're welcome to set this at any point during Danger Force, or find a reason for retired Ray to team up with Bose post-canon. I just love these two being so intensely cute together, whether the surrounding vibe is soft and fluffy, or tense and dangerous.

Maybe they get bodyswapped, and their efforts to impersonate each other are hampered (or improved) by the constant need for Ray to remind Bose who he actually is. Maybe Ray gets de-aged back to eight years old, and Bose has to keep this scared little boy calm and occupied. Maybe Ray gets doused in cuddle pollen and Bose is eager to provide the cure!
I'd love some fluff for them too. Maybe they just hang out in the Man's Nest, drinking sodas or watching TV. Maybe Ray gets Bose to try his latest recipe - or join in with making it. Maybe Ray schedules some little trips out to get ice cream or visit an arcade, as an excuse to have a fun afternoon on the man-genda with his little assistant. Maybe they have a relaxing evening as they help each other wash and condition their hair.
Hurt/comfort would be great as well! Maybe Bose gets injured, and Ray fusses over him, distraught at having failed to protect him. Maybe they get captured and thrown in a cell together overnight, and Ray has a nightmare - but he's desperate to hide his vulnerable feelings, till he realises sweet Bose just wants to gently soothe him. Or Ray canonically gets seasick! Show me a missing scene while Ray and Bose (and Mika) were trapped on that boat at the end of Power Problems. Or another time that Ray needed Bose to rub his back and softly murmur reassurances, while Ray whined about how he's totally a strong manly man.
Bose isn't so given to angst, because that would involve having a thought, and a non-cheerful one at that. But I do wonder about his worries over secretly having Chapa's phone. I'd love to see the missing scene where Bose confessed to Ray and gave the phone to him, or Bose considering making that decision, or the emotional outfall of that trusting moment - was Ray gently reassuring for once, or sternly protective? How scared was Bose and how much did Ray need to soothe him?

Buddy Fudgers & Ray Manchester

Buddy is so determined to be cheerful and polite, even when people are mean to him, even when he's swearing vengeance. I love that aspect of him, and his oldfashioned slang feeds into it for me, but I also love that there are times we can see through that insistent optimism to his hurt underneath, without that politeness completely vanishing - like when he discovers Ray was just using him, or when they make up. Buddy isn't invulnerable, he's still a boy who wants to be liked and treated well, but he also doggedly makes the choice to be so peppy most of the time - the subtle layers to that behaviour are so interesting to me. And he genuinely wants people to be happy! He's so glad for Credenza finding Ray, constantly complimenting Ray... But for himself, he's so grateful about Danger Force being kind to him, so quick to call them his friends when they meet at school. And he walked into that reactor to save everyone! He's brave, he's nice, he's a natural hero. But how does he deal with being the child of two supervillains? Did he always know Drex was his father?

When he's hurt, Ray also tends to act cheerful, smiling and teasing but as a deliberate mask - unless he's really sad or angry, then he just lets everything spill out. He's immature in a way that means he's almost perfectly suited to being friends with so many teens - but also desperate for the kind of respect and constant ego-buffing that Buddy offers. All of his arrogant, selfish, volatile behaviour should make him unlikeable, yet I can't help but love him - maybe it's just the actor's winning performance, but I think it really helps that those impulses are so shallow, and that he's a good guy underneath it all. And his tragic backstory - isolated by his father from eight years old onwards, never allowed to develop socially, presumably put through a lot of pain and stress during training - completely explains the way Ray acts, as well as making him very sympathetic to me. He's traumatised, he's lonely, he just wants to be happy. But as he explains, after Danger Force discover his secret room where he plays house with robots of Buddy and Credenza, "I don't have a normal life, I never have" and "I don't know what to do sometimes" - he's a man operating with an empty social guidebook, so of course he acts like a loon. On top of that, he's been exposed to all kinds of violence and horror as a superhero, so he's even more traumatised from that - an episode of Henry Danger mentions that he gets nightmares. But despite being a thoughtless ball of chaos, he is willing to sacrifice himself for others when the need arises. He's a complicated guy - I love him when he's being silly and I ache for him when he's angsting.

I love that the trajectory of Ray and Buddy's relationship ends with Ray being Buddy's (almost) stepfather - they genuinely like each other and get along, and I'm always weak for loving stepfamilies. Especially here, when lonely Ray has been chasing moms for so long, and has now finally slotted into a home - when Buddy was so eager for a scrap of Captain Man's attention, and now sincerely means something to him. And Ray, despite his admitted toxicity in many other areas, happily acknowledges that Buddy will always be number one in Credenza's life - he's signing up for the whole package, but also for Buddy specifically. I want to see so much more of how they grew closer across season 3, or how their relationship develops after the finale. But with the dramatic irony of them becoming family, I also love when Buddy is still in his "get roasted, sir!" phase, so you're welcome to set something during that era. Or even some mild canon divergence - with that shortened final season, the show clearly rushed through things to arrive at the end they wanted. If you want to delve into it, and show events developing more slowly or more realistically, I am totally down with that. Or if you want to have Buddy stay with Ray and Credenza instead of leaving with Drex? But also canon-compliant missing scenes! Between Big Dynomite and the following episode, Ray and Buddy have already been "having such a good time, just keeping secrets and fighting crime" - I'd love you to show me some of that.

Feel free to include Danger Force, Schwoz, Henry, Drex, or Credenza. Obviously Ray&Buddy mainly exists in the context of Ray/Credenza, so you're welcome to include that as background (or, if you're so inclined, even Henry/Ray/Credenza or Drex/Ray/Credenza) - and you're welcome to create some happy family times, or maybe more fraught ones, but I want the emotional focus to be on Ray and Buddy within that, please. For canon villains, I'd love more Rick Twitler (for serious threat), Jeff (for pure comedy) and Dr Minyak (for a mix of drama and silliness) - or even a pre-reveal Credenza, as long as she doesn't do anything too bad to either of them. A good rule of thumb is that, if I could imagine an AU where The Cell's big plan instead summoned a sassy dragon or sent everyone to a rainbow universe or some other outcome, and nothing in your work would contradict that then it's fine. But I'm aware that might feel overcomplicated, so my prompts focus on other times and topics.

Maybe, when the threat gets serious, they'd have a moment of tenderness and understanding... before slipping back into their enmity.
I'd love some fluff for them. Maybe Buddy hanging out in the Man's Nest, watching TV or doing lifesize board games with Danger Force there too, or just having fun with Ray - whether that's playing video games, or maybe Ray letting Buddy test things from the weapons wall. Or some cute domesticity at home... Maybe some slice of life, showing what they're like in the mornings before Buddy goes to school, or in the evening when he's trying to do homework, or relaxing as a family. Maybe Ray and Buddy do some baking together - more flapjacks, or a gingerbread house, or a birthday cake for Credenza. Maybe Ray teaching Buddy how to shave, or tie a tie properly - or Buddy showing Ray how to do some manly thing he never learned during his own childhood.
Hurt/comfort would also be great! Maybe Buddy gets injured during a mission, and Ray has to put aside his Rayness to soothe Buddy, even if Buddy is pretending he's completely fine, sir. Maybe a villain invents a gadget that can actually injure Ray - or at least cause continuing pain - and Buddy looks after him while Ray grumbles (or screams). Maybe Ray has a nightmare, and they chat in the kitchen while discussing midnight snacks till Ray stops shaking. Or Ray canonically gets seasick! Maybe Buddy goes on the boat, and takes a turn holding the bucket and rubbing Ray's back. Maybe Buddy is the one who's sick, with a cold or the flu, and stays home from school and Ray is the one who looks after him while Credenza's out.
There's also space for some angst - either Buddy having more complicated feelings about Credenza being revealed as a villain, or Drex being a longstanding villain, and what that means for him as their son. Is Buddy so outwardly cheerful and polite because he's determined not to follow in their footsteps? Does he fear that some villainous urges might lurk in him? Or is he just horrified by what his parents have done - to other people, or Credenza putting him in danger? And did he always know Drex was his father, and that his father was Captain Man's nemesis - back during Hour of Power or The Fate of Danger? (Buddy was literally in the Man Cave at the time!) How does Buddy feel about being Drex's son, and has that changed since he was younger? Ray's own father seems pretty shit, so maybe that's something they could bond over - or at least understand in each other, even if Ray isn't the most emotionally open. Or maybe some angst while Ray and Buddy were still enemies, with Buddy unable to stop wondering why Ray didn't want him, so hurt that all his compliments weren't enough to win over such a vain man - maybe Buddy afraid there's something innately unloveable about himself?

Chapa De Silva & Ray Manchester

Chapa is so strongwilled and unapologetic. But I love that under her lone wolf attitude, she clearly cares deeply about her friends - even if she pretends not to. Over time, the show added some subtlety to her always-angry persona, with her becoming less stern and more playful, which I find adorable. She's such a fun and funny character, with her cheerful threats, the sarcastic way she says sorry... And I love how she blends with Ray, who's so volatile in similar yet different ways - he's explosive, but rarely controlled like Chapa is; he's teasing, but he's fonder about it, even when he's rude or condescending; he's self-centred and needy, where she's self-sufficient and distant. He's a manchild mentor to her budding destruction. But most of Ray's amusing chaos is due to his tragic past: isolated by his father at eight years old for superhero training, he missed out on his childhood and the emotional development there, and is now perpetually trying to prove he's young and cool. And I think that fraught relationship with his father is an interesting contrast, when Chapa has such a sweetly loving family that she doesn't want to acknowledge because they ruin her cool, tough image.

These two are both so gleefully excited about violence and I love when they get to be gleefully excited about violence together. Some of my fave episodes for them are A Danger Among Us, where Chapa eagerly helps Ray hunt down the others, with such a relaxed and fondly teasing vibe between them the whole time; and Earth to Bose, where Chapa continually acts as Ray's hypeman - telling him the only weapons he needs are his fists and declaring "nothing can take out the big dog" (prompting Ray to announce "absolutely adore you this week"), with Chapa more gently hyping Ray as comfort while he suffers being Glerp's punching bag - plus that bit where they hide in a box to ambush Glerp together. And smaller moments, like Ray being excited when Chapa threatens to zap all of Rivalton in The Thousand Pranks War; Ray approving that Chapa stabbed a goon with a marlin's nose in Power Problems; and Ray declaring that the fact Chapa is never nice is "one of your best qualities" in Class Action Heroes. And yet, while this could come off like a superhero leading his charge astray, when Chapa's without him in The Force Returns she actually turns to criminality - Chapa ironically needs Ray to keep her on the right side of the line.

But they also have a fun oppositional vibe sometimes. Ray really enjoys being the boss, being respected, but Chapa mainly treats him as having no authority over her - refusing to obey (when he wants her to stop floating in zero-g), teasing him (getting him to eat the prank apple, making fun of him for crying at The Winds of Beif), threatening to zap him (so many times, often causing Ray to cede to her instead)... But she does bend now and then, like when she threw two rusty spoons at him in An Imposter Among Us, but didn't throw a third after Ray ordered her not to - Ray has authority over Chapa mostly by her own consent. Then there's Power Problems, where Ray actually lays down the law. I love him being sternly protective of his teen buddies, refusing to put them in danger, and that he knows Chapa well enough to realise she was hiding spare gumballs. I wish we'd seen more of Ray being serious and shielding Chapa like that, it really satisfied my id. There's a similar tone to the way he acts in Chapa's Phone Home - gently trying to tell the truth to Chapa, unrepentant about keeping her phone due to her anger issues, refusing to bend or to fight back when Chapa unleashes a storm of electricity on him. He's calm and certain and actually mature in the face of her rage; it's great to know he can man up when she needs him to. But they have some sweetly fond moments as well: eating sushi and dancing together in A Danger Among Us; Chapa popping Ray's popcorn for him with a zap in Drive Hard; comparing their shrimp swords in Power Problems; Chapa copying Ray's dramatic exit at the start of Street Fightin', then the two of them making identical annoyed poses on the steps near the end; and all those times Chapa calls Ray buddy, my dude, my guy, etc.

Maybe Chapa gets doused in cheerful pollen and it weirds Ray out... or she's exposed to cuddle pollen, and reluctantly but sincerely accepts Ray's curative hugs. Maybe Ray gets de-aged back to eight years old, and Chapa has to be responsible for this scared little boy.
I'd love some fluff for them too - just because they're rarely soft, doesn't mean they can't have good vibes! Maybe after Jacob's Coyote, they both get obsessed with a new film franchise or TV series, and devour the whole thing together - or debate the intricacies of the canon afterwards. Maybe they find an amazing new fast food restaurant and want to sample all the dishes - with no secret powerstealing fish this time. Maybe as a treat, Ray lets Chapa play with the weapons wall - or they spend an afternoon hanging out in the axe-throwing room.
Some hurt/comfort would be great as well. Chapa is so prickly and Ray is so emotionally constipated (till he spills everything at once), but that just means the little hints of intimacy are even sweeter to me. Maybe Chapa gets injured, and refuses to admit any weakness, soldiering on - till she collapses and Ray catches her, grumpily admonishing her for hiding it. Or maybe her injury is too obvious to hide - but they're on a time limit, so maybe Ray has to help her walk, slipping little soft moments between foiling the villain. Maybe they get captured and thrown in a cell together overnight, and Ray has a nightmare - leaving Chapa to awkwardly calm him down. Or Ray canonically gets seasick! Maybe even Chapa's dismissive attitude would soften as she sees him repeatedly trying not to vomit (or actually vomiting), till she gives in and sternly rubs his back...
You could also do some angst about Ray keeping Chapa's phone from her. She resolved her issues with Bose, fully forgiving him, but by the end of the episode she was still mad at Ray. Maybe she just stewed internally, sniping at him, with Ray doing little things to win her over. Or maybe they had a serious conversation about it. Did Ray let Chapa unleash all of her feelings? Did he, gasp, actually apologise? Or did he remain firm in his resolution, but gently try to steer Chapa to his side while acknowledging her legitimate feelings of betrayal? (Did they need some tropey truth pollen or a telepathic bond to get them over the hurdle?)

Mika Macklin & Ray Manchester

Mika is a proud nerd and I love that for her. She's so open about her love of school and learning - defiantly taking Ray calling her Hermione as a compliment, even when she knows he doesn't see it that way. But she's reliably clever, and the team really do rely on her plans, yet she has a vulnerable need to be appreciated. And her fervent attempts to seek approval show her determination, but also expose her vulnerability further - either because it causes shenanigans, or because Ray isn't the kind of mentor to readily praise her geeky achievements. On the one hand she's renowned as a snitch, painfully honest and sensible, but Mika isn't a pure funsponge or total angel - she's the prank queen, and she's happy to wade into combat with the others, giving her more nuance.

Ray is a total menace - he's arrogant, selfish and volatile. He shouldn't be so likeable, but I can't help but love him. Maybe it's just the actor's winning performance, but I think it really helps that Ray's harsher impulses are so fleeting - Ray is a good guy underneath it all. He can be thoughtless and condescending, but even with that he's fond of Mika too. And Mika being so sensible is a fun contrast with her mentor's manchild behaviour. But that childish personality is due to Ray's tragic backstory - isolated by his father from eight years old onwards, never allowed to develop socially, presumably put through a lot of pain and stress during training. That trauma explains so many things about Ray, and makes him very sympathetic to me. And to Mika too - Ray is embarrassed about his secret room with robots of Buddy and Credenza, but Mika thinks it's sweet.

In fact, Mika is probably the softest with Ray, except maybe Bose. She's usually the one to comfort him, to gently pat his arm and such: in The Thousand Pranks War, when Ray is panicking because his hands are stuck to his hair, it's Mika that rushes to soothe him; she's the one who actually apologises that they all forgot Ray's movie night in Lil Dynomite; in Street Fightin', Mika checks Ray is okay after Debbie pins him down and tickles him. And Ray is soft with Mika too, in his own weird way: bending down and gently asking "whatchu up to, hon?" when Mika has freaked out because he turned the internet off at the start of An Imposter Among Us; in Drive Hard, Ray slides an arm around Mika's shoulders, quietly counselling her about dousing the others' excitement; when Mika gets taken over by the living computer virus in A Cyborg Among Us, Ray is softly concerned as he asks if she's okay. I love the affectionate way he calls her kiddo too. And he can be so protective! Especially when Danger Force lose their superpowers in Power Problems. I love that Ray gets all stern, actually wielding his authority for once, refusing to put his little buddies in danger. I wish we'd seen more of Ray being serious and shielding Mika like that, it really satisfied my id.

Their relationship also has some more difficult aspects, but in fun ways. Ray is hungry for respect, desperate to be the boss - even while acting in ways that undermine that. And yet Mika tries so hard to earn his approval in turn, valuing his opinion so much she'll instigate shenanigans, like creating Monsty. There's an edge of neediness to her with it all, but I find that sympathetic instead of pathetic. I would love to see Ray be more tender with her, because he so rarely is - though he proudly points out when she finally got the others excited in Drive Hard, tells her "nice shot" when she screams Drex in A Cyborg Among Us, and in A Henry Among Us, Ray declares "that's my girl"... twice. Maybe, much like with Schwoz, Ray is worried that giving Mika the real approval she craves means that she'll feel confident to leave him - or at least stop buttering him up so much. And sometimes, Mika is the sensible one wrangling this irresponsible adult man - confiscating Ray's dynamite in The Thousand Pranks War, chasing him so he'll stop spraying her in Earth to Bose, smacking him when he's watching stuff on his phone instead of listening to Rick Twitler's plan in A Cyborg Among Us... But they have some really sweet moments too! I love Ray getting her to dance with him to a pump-up song in Mika in the Middle, Ray giving Mika mittens so she'll be warm while she screams into space, Mika rushing to hug Ray in Drive Hard, and all the times they high five. And when Mika apologises for tying him to a rocket while possessed by Rick Twitler, Ray is unusually chill about it. They're complicated people with a complicated relationship, and I love the nuance of that, but also just them being soft and cute.

I'm fine with background Ray/Crendenza or Henry/Ray, but I think any romantic ships would mainly come up as pretext for jokes - and obviously I want the focus to be on Mika&Ray anyway. For canon villains, I'd love more Drex or Rick Twitler (for serious threat), Jeff (for pure comedy) and Dr Minyak (for a mix of drama and silliness) - or you could invent your own villain. And you're welcome to set this at any point during Danger Force, or find a reason for retired Ray to team up with Mika post-canon. I just want to see more of these two together!

I would love a canon-typical adventure for them, or a snippet of one! Could be just Mika and Ray, or Danger Force etc could be along for the ride, but I'd love to see Ray seriously following Mika's plan, some fond teasing between knocking down goons, Ray being proud of Mika achieving something, or even Ray impressing Mika with a genuinely heroic (or kind) moment... Whether it's a straight fight with a villain, figuring out a secret plot, going undercover to confiscate a dangerous weapon, or escaping after being captured, it'd be great to get another bit of them being superheroes.
This show is packed with tropes, if you wanted to lean more into that. Maybe a villain's new gadget magically handcuffs Mika and Ray together, and he grumbles while she tries to science their way out of it. Maybe Ray gets dosed with truth serum, and now he's desperately trying not to spill his deepest traumas, with Mika gently rubbing his arm as little pieces about his lost childhood slip out. Maybe Ray even gets de-aged back to eight years old, and Mika takes a motherly role towards this scared little boy, that she can't quite believe grew up to be her chaotic mentor. Maybe Mika gets doused in cuddle pollen, and Ray has to put aside his Rayness to cure her.
I'd love some fluff for them too. Maybe Ray gets addicted to a difficult puzzle game, and is glad of Mika's eager intellectual assistance for once. Maybe Ray appreciates Mika's attentive studying when he ropes her into baking with him. Maybe Mika plans the perfect birthday surprise for Ray. Maybe they just have a chill afternoon, drinking sodas and eating popcorn, as they watch TV on the Man's Nest couch.
Hurt/comfort would be great as well! When Mika really needs it, Ray does drop his bluff persona to be soft with her - and she is quick if faltering when Ray needs to be soothed. Maybe Mika gets injured, and Ray is gently fond as Mika tries to be brave - or he catches her as she collapses. Maybe a villain invents a gadget that can actually injure Ray - or at least cause continuing pain - and Mika comforts him while Ray grumbles (or screams). Maybe they get captured and thrown in a cell together overnight, and Ray has a nightmare - leaving hesitant Mika to deal with his unexpected vulnerability. Or Ray canonically gets seasick! Show me a missing scene while Ray and Mika (and Bose) were trapped on that boat at the end of Power Problems. Or another time that Ray needed Mika to rub his back and softly murmur reassurances, while Ray tearfully begged her not to tell the others.
Is there ever a time that they openly discuss Mika's desire for Ray's approval? Sometimes she's so hungry for it, and that could be a source of angst for her - especially if she's trying hard and things aren't going her way, or Ray just isn't responding how she hopes. The show obviously plays it for comedy, but it must be painful from her POV. I'd love to see Ray be a little tender with her, either reassuring her that she's fully earned his approval, or helping her accept that he's never going to be as intensely or frequently effusive as she wants, or both. But does she ever get to be Employee of the Month?!

A Mini Primer for the Curious

Young housewife Alice enjoys an idyllic life in Victory, an isolated 1950s company town, though she's allowed few details of the work her beloved husband Jack is doing. But as strange things start to happen, and her psyche begins to fracture, Alice becomes convinced that a dark secret lies at the heart of Victory - and that her husband's boss, Frank, has terrible plans for them all.

This psychological thriller is a flawed but compelling film, which touches on some important modern issues. Its setting provides plenty of opportunity for worldbuilding and dead dove content, plus 50s glamour and traditional gender role tropes. In my opinion, the central relationship between Alice and Jack doesn't spark as much as it should, but the few scenes between Alice and Frank sizzle with tension - and there's lots of room for various kinds of complicated femslash.

Characters

Alice (Florence Pugh) is a flirty, hardworking, carefree housewife - till a dangerous search for answers reveals her true intelligence and determination
Jack (Harry Styles) is Alice's desperately besotted husband, with a quiet hunger to rise up the company's ranks.

Margaret (KiKi Layne) has been struggling ever since her young son vanished, when she tried to flee with him across the desert. Now she offers dark but dreamy warnings that Victory is more than it seems.
Shelley (Gemma Chan) is Frank's wife and the women's ballet teacher. Assured and polished, she wields a sweet smile and a firm hand as she keeps the other wives in line.

Alice Chambers/Frank Carlson

I loved the mindfuckery aspects of this film, and Frank was so compellingly creepy that I both wanted to run away and couldn't take my eyes off him. Their intellectual rivalry and mind games, with Frank daring Alice to work out what's really going on, sparked such good chemistry between them, and I'd love to see more in that vein - or maybe Frank alters Alice's memory to keep her unknowing and compliant. If you want to do smut, I'm happy for it to be anywhere from noncon to dubcon to fully consensual (if maybe conflicted and/or filled with shame).

I'm fine with a missing scene, with canon divergence (Frank lives and Alice gets caught; Shelley escapes instead of Alice; Alice goes for a final showdown with Frank; etc) or with setting change AUs (it's the 1950s for real and Victory is developing a mind serum; Victory is a cult; Frank and Alice are teacher/student in the modern area, or at a magic academy, or in space; etc).

Considering the nature of the relationships in this canon, I have no problem with either Alice or Frank "cheating" on their partners. Also happy for Alice/Jack and Frank/Shelley to be happening in the background. Jack can be alive or dead (or you can kill him off again, if you're doing an AU) but if Shelley exists I want her to survive. (Maybe Shelley escapes instead, and Frank decides to claim Alice in her place?)

And then he insists on caring for her: bandaging her wounds, holding her close, brushing her hair from her face, kissing her forehead, gently touching her, or murmuring that everything's going to be alright... just looking after her in a way that's both soft and creepy, and which Alice doesn't want but can't refuse.
Not strictly a prompt in itself, but definitely something you could work into another prompt: worldbuilding! I have so many questions about Victory and how it works. Did Frank code the software, design the hardware, or both? What was causing the tremors? Was the crashing plane part of the simulation, or just in Alice's head? We know that the children aren't real, so who else is just a programme - the bus driver, the shop assistants, Frank's henchmen in red? How much control does Frank have over Alice's memories? Feel free to play with the inner workings of Victory, for shippy reasons or otherwise.
Frank has found a way to reveal soulmate marks in a world that never had them... or maybe he's actually found a way to forcibly create - or overwrite - a soulbond that didn't exist. Once Jack is gone, Frank tears apart her bond with him and forces Alice to be his soulmate instead.
When Jack encourages Alice to join him on these new personal development courses he's got into, it seems harmless enough. But Frank, the leader of Victory Mindset, singles Alice out and tells her she has real potential. Alice slowly gets drawn into the spider's web, and by the time she realises just how dangerous and unhealthy Frank's methods for "helping" his followers are she's in so deep that getting out won't be easy... Or maybe, despite the unsettling feeling inside her, Alice never manages to see through Frank's mask at all.
Alice was growing tired of Jack, but these days it's hard to remember why - he seems so magnetic now, and it's hard to question things when she's so much more tired than she used to be. She keeps waking up with two strange marks on her neck. And Jack's new friend Frank seems to have a power over him - and her - that she can't really explain. There's something about Frank's hypnotic eyes, and the way he looks at her like he wants to devour her...
Frank is the headmaster of a college that teaches sex magic. Alice gets along with her partner Jack, but she can't help but be flattered by Frank taking a special interest in her - and suspicious about the costs and ultimate goals of the intimate magic he's teaching. Maybe Frank offers some personal tuition, tells Alice she's in danger of failing out, and/or asks for her help with a special spell. Maybe Alice discovers a dark truth at the heart of the college, but has to play along while she collects the evidence to prove it.

But to get them back, our "heroes" will need to put together a new team, pull off an even bigger heist... and maybe save the world in the process.

You don't need to know anything about D&D to enjoy this fantasy heist romp. Filled with heart and humour, it features loveable characters and dazzling action sequences. It can make you laugh out loud, but never undercuts its most tender moments with an ironic joke, balancing wholesome found family vibes with heart-pounding peril and themes of trauma and forgiveness.

Characters

Edgin (Chris Pine) is a charming bard, current thief and former do-gooder. Tragically widowed, he's been raising his daughter with best friend Holga, but his devastating mistakes have left him scrambling to restore his family.
Holga (Michelle Rodriguez) is a gruff but loyal axe-wielding warrior. Divorced and exiled from her tribe, she loves Edgin's daughter as her own - but still bears a quiet ache for her ex-husband.

Sofina (Daisy Head) is a powerful and secretive wizard. She proposed the heist that got Edgin and Holga sent to prison, so they're not best pleased to see her again.

Dungeons & Dragons TTRPG
You don't need to know anything about D&D to create for my D&D:HAT requests. Feel free to ignore any worldbuilding from the lore, or ignore mechanics from the roleplaying game - you're welcome to make up your own locations, characters, spells etc instead. But if you want to include things from the game, you're welcome to do that, whether using your own knowledge or just reading from the wiki. I have played D&D and am familiar with the game mechanics. I haven't played in the Forgotten Realms setting, but I have some familiarity with it - enough to know that D&D:HAT contradicts established worldbuilding for some topics, eg Thay. Where that's the case, I prefer that D&D:HAT be taken as the truthful source.

The Road to Neverwinter
You don't need to have read this tie-in book to create for my D&D:HAT requests. I don't consider it to be canon for the live action continuity; I would prefer no references to any events or backstory which only appear in this book.

The Druid's Call
You don't need to have read this tie-in book to create for my D&D:HAT requests. I don't consider it to be canon for the live action continuity. As far as I'm concerned, it pretty heavily contradicts established movie canon, especially when it comes to Simon/Doric. I would prefer the movie be taken as the truthful source there - though I am fond of the idea that Doric met Simon when he was standing in a pond, with a frog in his pocket. Note that I have only read parts of this book, so please don't create a fanwork that relies on me knowing its details - though mentions of Torrieth etc are fine. But if you're going to delve into Doric's backstory, I'd prefer you focus more on her feelings, rather than the details given in this book - they are very different to the backstory I imagined based on the film, ie that Doric was abandoned as a baby and immediately found by the elves.

The Feast of the Moon
You don't need to have read this tie-in comic to create for my D&D:HAT requests. I haven't read the main storyline, so if you make a reference to it, I won't grasp it. I have read the back-up storyline about Xenk hiding the Helm of Disjunction; I'm neutral on whether it is canon for the live action continuity or not. It's consistent with what we learn in the movie, but I'm also fine with you ignoring it. For example, at one point Xenk casually heals himself with his own magic - but I would be interested in fanworks where Xenk's curse means he cannot use healing magic, or cannot heal himself, or where healing himself (or others) causes him intense pain.

Doric/Xenk Yendar

We don't really get any focused moments between these two in the film, but Doric actually seems like the least hostile to Xenk from the beginning - ironic considering her stance on humans started as "hateful and selfish" and "just can't help but lie"... but then Xenk and his ridiculous paladin goodness are so obviously the opposite of that! If Xenk joined the party for further adventures, I like to imagine they'd become good friends, and then fall in love (maybe after mutually pining). Or maybe just gently looking after each other during a dubcon scenario.

I love Doric's combination of a sharp tongue with her moral integrity and intense environmental concern, and how that contrasts and blends with Xenk's stern intensity, his awkward ways, and his own intense sense of justice and goodness. They're both visibly outsiders in ways the others aren't, so maybe they would have a natural understanding - or they'd bond over the angst of losing their families because of it. And between their outsider status and Xenk's sense of duty, I tend to imagine they're both virgins.

(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)

Maybe they're mostly concerned with the practical aspects of continuing to adventure, as they search for a cure... but the forced proximity and unexpected intimacy brings them together. Maybe the spell means they'll get really sick if they don't have a certain amount of skin-to-skin contact every day... or if they don't have sex every day.
Huddling for warmth in a cold cave, a snowed-in cabin, locked in a cell together, etc results in them kissing. Maybe Xenk is too repressed to do more, even though Doric's up for it. A quest requires two of the group to go undercover as a couple - and it needs Doric and Xenk's unique skills in particular. Is this a magical night at a ball (even a masquerade ball), where the enchanting mood sets feelings simmering? Or maybe they're sent to infiltrate a cult, and they have to rely on their trust in the dangerous situation. Do they get picked for one of the cult's rituals - which turns out to be ritual public sex? Maybe they try to fake their way through it, even as the intimate touches stir up real desire. Maybe they just decide to go for it, and gently help each other through some tender dubcon.
While adventuring away from the others, they discover a magical grove that's slowly being corrupted. Both of them are eager to cleanse it, but then its guardians explain that the ritual magic would require the two of them to have sex.
One or both of them gets hit by sex pollen, and there's nobody else around to help. Maybe Doric is practical and sees no reason not to have some fun together. Maybe Xenk is conflicted, wanting to help - or needing help himself - but reluctant to open up to her. But in the end he's too kind, or too desperate, to actually refuse it... even if he's a virgin.
Omega Doric goes into heat and asks alpha Xenk to help her through it. Maybe he's a virgin and nervous about being so intimate - but he can't bear to see her suffering. Edgin Darvis/Doric

While trying to recruit her, Edgin was definitely using all his charm (although not in a sexual way) but Doric seemed utterly immune to it. I loved the tender moment when Edgin was sitting on the rock on the beach: his little smile as she walked over, the way she gently patted his shoulder and he patted hers in return, and she smiled back. Maybe his charm would be more welcome now they have a genuine connection, or maybe she'd be the one to instigate it.

I love that Doric is so committed to doing good and looking after nature, but that she doesn't let the rules stand in her way. And she has a very sharp tongue, in contrast to Edgin's silver one. Edgin thinks of himself as a thief and a lawbreaker, and is maybe trying to pretend he doesn't enjoy doing good as much as he actually does. He uses humour and a charming mask to hide his pain, but Doric absolutely doesn't fall for it - even if she'll be soft when he finally lets himself be vulnerable. But is she prepared to be vulnerable in return? I'm happy for this to be either a romantic ship, or casual sex/FWB/Edgin gently looking after Doric in a dubcon scenario, especially if her tiefling status means she's still a virgin.

Edgin Darvis/Forge Fitzwilliam

I love that Forge genuinely cares about Edgin, wants good things for him, enjoys spending time with him... and yet will quite happily ruin Edgin's life if it enriches his own. And he doesn't see any contradiction in that! That's so deliciously complicated.

Meanwhile Edgin seems to have trusted Forge, not only enough to ask him to look after Kira, but to be surprised when Forge later reveals his betrayal at Korinn's Keep. All that time he had to think while spending two years in Revel's End, and Edgin never considered that the con man could have been a traitor? Is Forge that good? Is Edgin actually a bit naive? Or has Edgin always been suspicious of Forge - but thought that his own criminal talents were enough that he would spot any betrayal before it happened? And, as he didn't see it, obviously Forge hadn't betrayed him...

I'd love to see these two being flirty and charming together, whether during one of their schemes or while relaxing in a tavern. Feel free to have Forge manipulating Edgin, or Edgin not being sure if he's being manipulated or not. I'm happy with it being either a fun, angst-free ship before the betrayal, or unsettling yet hot - or Forge could noncon Edgin once he reveals his villainy. I love their banter and how they spark with each other - Xenk and his literal mind bouncing off Edgin's usual wordplay, still prompting smiles in each other, even as they clash over Edgin's thievery and Xenk's paladin ways. That contrast somehow settles to a comfortable blend, with Edgin reluctant for Xenk to leave. And I love how touchyfeely they are - Edgin in general, and Xenk with all his (offers of) handholding... Pressing his hand to Edgin's on the Harper's seal, pulling him up after saving him, their earnest handshake as they prepare to part. So much touching! And so much banter! But they also challenge each other to grow, and I'd love to see how their relationship develops after the film, with a softer friendship blossoming into romance.

Despite his 20 minutes of screentime, Edgin's narrative arc is so bound up with Xenk. Edgin's been projecting this image of a cheerful, charming leader for so long, hiding his deep trauma over Zia with quips and songs. He's focused all of his pain into hating the Red Wizards, blaming Thayans for his loss - maybe because it's easier than blaming himself. But then he meets Xenk, a Thayan so noble and innocent that it shatters Edgin's foundation. And Edgin can't even console himself with the idea that anyone in his position would've been tempted by that gold - because again, Xenk is so pure and moral, and proves that people can be better. Even makes Edgin promise to be more than a common thief, reigniting his old Harper heroism. Xenk is the pivot point of Edgin's growth and healing.

Xenk's own angst is mostly implied, a subtext to the fascinating details we get. He's a paladin, a holy warrior, so strict in protecting others - but he's also a Thayan, a hated outsider, visibly marked by necromantic magic. I love the tension in him being both blessed and cursed. Does Xenk feel the need to be the perfect paladin to balance out the terrible opinions people have about Thayans? Once people have accepted his cursed nature, do they tend to place him on a pedestal, glorifying him as a legendary paladin instead? He glides away from the crowd's praise after saving that catbaby; his retort to Edgin's anti-Thayan sentiment is not to defend himself, but to speak of other Thayans, innocents turned into monsters. Does he think of himself as a monster? But Xenk is so kind and caring, risking himself to save Edgin - and so stern and serious, rigidly sticking to his moral framework. Does he feel bound by his duty, by his paladin vows - even to the point of repressing his own wants, needs and hopes? Does he feel he has to earn his own humanity, by so harshly rejecting his own partially undead nature, by being such a paragon of virtue? Does Xenk feel like he can't be less than perfect? Maybe his insistence that Edgin can be a better man is a reflection of Xenk's need to believe in his own goodness.

With all of those worries swirling around, these two could slip so deep into mutual pining. Maybe Xenk thinks he can't be with anyone because of his duty as a paladin, or because the Beckoning Death has left him cursed, partially undead, lacking part of his soul, etc. Maybe Edgin finds out Xenk is a virgin and assumes the guy isn't interested in sex at all. (I do headcanon Xenk as a virgin.) Or Edgin thinks Xenk's too noble and pure to want a criminal like him, or thinks Xenk wants someone more serious or more intellectual. Xenk thinking Edgin's too charming and sociable to want someone as awkward and unbending as him... I love the angsty possibilities of all this, the two of them keeping their feelings secret even as they're practically bursting with longing. And when combined with their touchyfeely natures - they must be torturing each other!

Established relationship and getting together both welcome. Edgin's lingering angst over Zia is fine. Or you could do some angst focusing on that mutual pining, or some physical hurt/comfort, or soft fluff, or fun tropes - maybe as part of a new adventure for them. In the film, Simon mostly seems to get on Xenk's nerves (being sarcastic! destroying the bridge!) but he's not doing it on purpose and I really think if they spent more time together they could become good friends - and then fall in love. Despite his initial jealousy, Simon is eager for Xenk to stay at the end. Under his sarcasm, his awkwardness, and his occasional sulkiness, Simon is rather sweet and kinda adorable. And once you see past his stern manner and paladin morals, Xenk is kind and actually sorta awkward too.

I like the idea that they're both a bit dorky, deeply interested in niche subjects, in a way none of the others understand. But I think they could find some common ground. But maybe Simon worries that Xenk doesn't like him, or doesn't respect him? And Xenk isn't great at social interaction, so he might not realise Simon feels that way, or might not know how to explain that he actually does care. Potentially some angst there, but I'd also love some fluff - or some hurt/comfort, or smut. I can see them both as virgins (due to Simon's awkwardness and Xenk's duty/angst) and maybe worries about intimacy would result in mutual pining - or an intense experience during some dubcon, with Xenk gently trying to look after nervous Simon, even as Xenk himself is a bit overwhelmed.

(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)

Or their quest requires travelling by boat - and one of them is really prone to seasickness. Does Xenk nobly sit with Simon as he (tries not to) vomit, gently rubbing his back, assuring him there's no shame in it? Or is awkward Simon the only one there to comfort vulnerable Xenk, resulting in some unexpected tenderness?
A strange artifact accidentally creates a soulbond between them. Now they're stuck hearing each other's thoughts, feeling each other's feelings, and/or unable to move more than a few feet apart. Maybe Simon's worried all his insecurities are about to be revealed to the perfect Xenk Yendar, only to discover the paladin has a few insecurities of his own. Maybe the forced proximity brings them together, despite Simon's sarcastic comments about it. Maybe the spell means they'll get really sick if they don't have a certain amount of skin-to-skin contact every day... or if they don't have sex every day.
A quest requires two of the group to go undercover as a couple - and it needs Simon and Xenk's unique skills in particular. Is this a magical night at a ball (even a masquerade ball), where the enchanting mood sets feelings simmering? Or maybe they're sent to infiltrate a cult, and they have to rely on their trust in the dangerous situation. Do they get picked for one of the cult's rituals - which turns out to be ritual public sex? Maybe they try to fake their way through it, even as the intimate touches stir up real desire. Maybe they just decide to go for it, and gently help each other through some tender dubcon.
The two of them get hit by sex pollen and the resulting fuck is amazing/awkward/both at once.

It's time for Insert Seasonal Festival! Who loves the traditions, who hates them, who's never heard of them? Is it celebrated differently in Triboar than in Thay, among the Elk Tribe compared to the wood elves? Maybe someone eats too much, maybe someone hates the taste of the traditional food. Maybe someone's really good at the traditional game - or really bad at it. Maybe someone's excited to celebrate the day in a new way, or maybe seeing everyone celebrating it in a different way makes them homesick. An excuse for soft fluff, silly shenanigans or a bit of angst.
Or it's someone's birthday! Who is it, how old are they, what presents do they get? Do they love birthdays, do they hate them, have they tried to keep it secret?
Simon's wild magic misfires and causes chaos. You can either pick something from the official list or come up with something suitably comedic/dramatic.
They arrive in a town that has a potato shortage and must go on a Quest to find a potato for Holga.
Edgin knits presents for everyone. They're a bit lumpy, but they're made with love.

The party find out what actually happened to Xenk's family during the Beckoning Death - and how traumatic it was for him - when a spell recreates his worst memory in front of them. One of them gets injured, and the others all show their concern in their own way. Maybe Xenk can heal them quickly - or maybe he's run out of spells for the day, and the group has to keep the injured person comfortable until they can be healed. Or Xenk has been cuffed, and they have to protect the injured person while also escaping from danger.

A Mini Primer for the Curious

Note: The original showrunner, Dan Schneider, was fired after the fourth season for inappropriate behaviour. The final forty episodes, spinoff series and TV movie were produced without his involvement; he has not worked in television since.

A teenage boy seeking a part-time job answers a mysterious advert - and gets hired as the sidekick to the local superhero. Sworn to secrecy, Henry must navigate his new double life - balancing schoolwork with battling supervillains, cool adventures with awkward crushes, repeatedly throwing himself into danger, all while keeping the truth from his friends and family - and dealing with his boss's shenanigans.

This Nickelodeon sitcom is a great blend of action and humour with surprisingly dark undertones. The premise is pure wish fulfilment, but the show is clear about the costs and pitfalls - Henry increasingly struggles with the impact on his life and his psyche. And it's genuinely funny, even watching as an adult, even with no nostalgia. It also features a wide range of tropes - from time travel to bodyswap, mind control to alternate universes - plus pastiches of things like Star Trek and Stranger Things. There's even a musical episode! As a kids comedy filmed mostly in medium closeup, it requires a somewhat exaggerated acting style, but the cast are clearly talented - and the performances become more nuanced and deadpan as the youngsters grow up. Lots to enjoy here, even if you're well beyond Nickelodeon's target demographic.

Characters

Henry (Jace Norman) is a brave, goofy and earnest 13-year-old boy. He finds his new role as sidekick Kid Danger exciting, but the responsibility wears on him as the years pass - and he scrapes through bigger and bigger threats.
Ray (Cooper Barnes) is a wacky, fickle and irresponsible manchild who also happens to be a superhero. Accidentally made indestructible at 8 years old, he now fights crime as Captain Man - but the extreme isolation of his childhood superhero training has left him with questionable social skills.
Charlotte (Riele Downs) is one of Henry's best friends. Sarcastic, steady and very clever, she quickly figures out Henry's secret - and becomes an invaluable part of the team.
Jasper (Sean Ryan Fox) is Henry's other best friend. His loyalty is a deep river but his brain is a shallow puddle. Ray refuses to let Henry tell him the secret, forcing Henry to keep Jasper in the dark.
Piper (Ella Anderson) is Henry's bratty younger sister. A loud and demanding child, her anger issues mellow as she ages to a determined teen. Obsessed with internet fame, Piper thinks her brother is a tragic dork and that Kid Danger is the coolest - in fact, she's president of the Man Fans club.
Schwoz (Michael D. Cohen) is a genius inventor and general oddball. Hailing from some unspecified but bizarre country, he's frequently the target of Ray's ire - sometimes unfairly, though he did once steal Ray's girlfriend.

Danger Force
I consider this to be canon and part of the same continuity as Henry Danger. Feel free to reference characters, events and worldbuilding which only appear in Danger Force. But some of the jokes suggest a retcon to Ray's backstory - please take Henry Danger as the truthful source there. I'm fine with more jokes that Ray might be older than he actually is, but it's important to me that he was in fact 8 years old when he was densitised in 1989, as shown in The Danger Begins and Back to the Danger. But as it's a sequel, you can easily create for my Henry Danger requests without having seen Danger Force, or if you've only watched the Henry episodes. I'm also fine with canon divergence, eg Henry decides not to leave Swellview, or returns to Swellview permanently during the Danger Force era.

Henry Danger: The Movie

The Thundermans
I love The Thundermans, but its superhero worldbuilding clashes with Henry Danger in many many places, so they're clearly not part of the same continuity. Feel free to reference Thundermans characters and major events, even if they didn't appear in Danger & Thunder, but please use Henry Danger's worldbuilding as the truthful source for this request. (Unless you are creating for one of my specific Henry Danger/The Thundermans crossover requests, where figuring out how to merge the differing canons is an expected part of a crossover.)

Game Shakers
I don't consider this to be canon for the Dangerverse continuity. Please don't make reference to anything which wasn't part of Danger Games, including the Henry episodes of Game Shakers.

ADHD Henry
I definitely get some ADHD vibes from Henry in canon, if you want to lean into that.

Trans Henry
If you're going to depict Henry as trans, I'd prefer that he be a trans boy - ie, he transitioned sometime before the first episode.

Trans Schwoz
I love that this show has a trans actor in a major role, and some of the promotional material suggests Schwoz himself may be trans, so you're welcome to depict him as a trans man. But I fully believe trans actors should be able to play cis roles, and Schwoz's status is never confirmed on screen, so feel free to depict him as a cis man. Or not confirm either way, if it's not relevant to your fanwork, as I'm not actually requesting Schwoz. (But please don't suggest that Schwoz might be a trans woman, even as the subject of a joke.)

Henry Hart & Piper Hart

Across the seasons and as they grow, these two go through so many stages, and I'm fascinated by all of them. Initially, Piper is the screechy, volatile foil to goofy, earnest Henry - the tattletale that threatens his exciting new job, but also the anchor of his protective urges. As Henry settles into being a sidekick, he grows in confidence - more openly fond of her, more prone to flashes of mischief, even as he becomes more secretive and scarred; while Piper learns to control her outbursts, becoming more emotionally steady, settling into scathing wit and calmer demands - that playful annoyance blending to a fresh balance between them. Then as the stress and trauma really starts to weigh on Henry, his personal life suffering under the burdens of his superhero duties, Piper blooms to a new maturity - confident and polished as a popular influencer, rising as he struggles. And finally, when Piper becomes Henry's confidante at last, her forceful personality and frustrating persistence make her a practical and reliable ally - just as her brother faces his biggest tests. I have so many feelings about it all. Their sibling relationship feels so real to me - sometimes fighting, often bickering, usually weary of each other, but always backed by an unshakeable foundation of affection.

Henry's care for Piper is especially obvious and I find that adorable. For a cheeky teenage boy, he tells Piper he loves her surprisingly often - and surprisingly sincerely. Whenever Piper is threatened, Henry is immediately horrified and desperate to save her; he's a superhero sidekick who saves people every day, but Piper is the one he's most consistently (and most intensely) protective of. No matter how much she gets on his nerves, when Piper really needs him Henry will leap to her defence. And when she's sad, Henry is soft and tenderly reassuring, even when he still fears her temper - his gentle talk with her at the start of JAM Session is so cute. Despite their friction, Piper really brings out his sweet side. Carefully supporting her in Spoiler Alert! Coaching her basketball team! Guiding her when she's sleepwalking in Holey Moley! Breaking down in Danger Games after zapping her! I just love how much he loves her, even when she makes it hard, even when his life is hard.

Obviously their parents and the wider Hart family dynamic influences their sibling relationship. The plot demands that Kris and Jake be oblivious, because otherwise Henry couldn't hide his secret life, and that neglect is played for comedy - but that undercurrent has real impact on their children's personalities. Kris and Jake are inconsistent with both affection and discipline - sometimes draconian, sometimes passive, sometimes loving, sometimes distant. Not only do they take days to notice one of their kids has vanished, but they're often absent themselves, physically or emotionally - Kris is often away, clearly cheating on Jake. Sometimes they force their kids to act like the parents. And sometimes they rise above the sitcom jokery to undeniably horrible treatment: in Charlotte Gets Ghosted, we're told they shut Henry and Piper in one bedroom, gave them food then confiscated that food, leaving them locked in together overnight, just to throw a party. The show might dance around it, Kris and Jake may frequently be amusing, but they are not good parents. Is it any wonder that Piper is so unruly, so desperate for attention, so judgemental of Henry when she grew up in that atmosphere?

Piper is such an abrasive character but I genuinely love her, even when she's being a brat. She is just always so completely herself. But under that bravado, there's a heart-tugging vulnerability - she's aching for affection, for validation, so concerned with chasing superficial status and ephemeral fame that she rebuffs her brother's earnest tenderness. I have so many feelings about that scene where Henry shows Piper his Fred Lobster shirt, so eager to display his pride in her, but she can't see the gesture as anything but deeply uncool - yet still gleefully clasps his hand when her commercial comes on. There's such a great tension in Piper worshipping the cool hero Kid Danger while dismissing Henry as a tragic dork - and it's only when she learns his secret that she can really understand and appreciate the whole person her brother is. And I love the bond they develop after that - it's so good to see them just hanging out and drinking soda together in Remember the Crimes. But even before that, while Henry is mostly the one showing affection, Piper does have her moments - like offering to invite her friends so he can throw a cooler party. And whenever he comforts her and she opens up to him, that shows how deeply she trusts him. Who else in her life has earned that? And she might not know it, but he's also the person she'll eagerly go to bat for - jumping into the firing line to help Kid Danger in Spoiler Alert, Stuck in Two Holes, Diamonds are for Heather, The Great Cactus Con... and even moreso once she joins the team. Their relationship is tender, messy, supportive, challenging, ever changing, always strong - I love all of those aspects separately, and in combination, at every stage we see across the years.

This show often has its characters behave callously for comedic effect - being dismissive, ignoring hurts - and I'm fine with a little of that. But ultimately I want to feel that they care about each other, even if Piper is being bratty - or Henry is frustrated with her. Likewise I'm fine with comedic portrayals of their parents, ignoring the dark subtext there, but you're also welcome to depict Kris and Jake as neglectful and/or emotionally abusive. (Up to the level of Charlotte Gets Ghosted, or thereabouts; I'd prefer it not be unrelentingly dark though, as I think it's important that Kris and Jake can be affectionate at other times, even if the better periods are only implied.) But I DNW any mention of young Piper's crush on Kid Danger, even as a joke; please pretend that never happened. Platonic affection is great though - from casual "love you!"s, to meaningful ones, to holding hands, cheek kisses or forehead kisses, hugs or cuddling - there's some of that in canon, but you're welcome to push it further. Even Piper trying to soothe an injured Henry, or Henry carrying an injured Piper in his arms - you can go harder on the hurt than Nickelodeon could, but please no gore or anything really terrible happening, especially to young Piper. As well as hurt/comfort, I'd love some fluff, or angst with a happy ending, or canon-typical adventures. I just want more of Henry and Piper being siblings.

Narrative Prompts

An episode-like adventure would be great for these two. The whole Rolling Thunder thing had to go badly, because the show needed an excuse to maintain the status quo, but Piper would clearly be an asset to the team if given a real chance - even if Henry's resistant to seeing his little sister put in a dangerous situation. Maybe Ray is on vacation, or gets captured, and Henry has to reluctantly take Piper into the field. Maybe Ray and Henry need Piper's specific help for some reason and bring her with them. Maybe Henry and Piper are around about town, or even on family vacation, when they get pulled into action - like being taken hostage as civilians - and have to wriggle their way out of things without any superhero help. I'd love to see Henry protecting Piper, Piper kicking some ass, both of them working in sync, supporting each other, or bantering about the whole thing.
Or you could do an adventure with younger Piper! Maybe she jumps in to help Kid Danger, like she has so often before, but this time fully gets swept up in the action - meaning Henry has to keep her safe without revealing quite why he cares so much. Maybe Piper gets kidnapped, as a deliberate target or randomly, and Henry breaks into the villain's lair to save her. Or maybe Henry's not even in uniform when something big goes down, and now he's not only having to work without Ray, not only having to hide his powers from the villain, but struggling to keep Piper in the dark too. But maybe Piper herself isn't the helpless victim the villain expected?
There must've been so many times Henry came home battered and bruised after a fistfight. Once she knows his secret, I'd love to see Piper looking after Henry - even if she's still her Pipery self and being kinda sharp with him. (Maybe she'd use the sarcasm as a tool to let them both ignore how soft the comfort is?) Whether she's making excuses to their parents, fetching painkillers, helping him up the stairs, tucking him into bed, or even applying pain-relief gel for him, it could be a sweet yet tense time for them. Or maybe Henry wakes Piper up by having a nightmare? Or the villain's gadget made him really nauseous, and he decided to try and sleep it off at home - only for the effect to worsen, and now he's slumped in the bathroom, trying to be quiet... but he's still loud enough to attract Piper's attention. Or maybe Piper is sick with a regular cold, and Henry's trying to fuss over her without letting her notice his worry? Maybe they both get captured during an adventure, and Henry comforts Piper through a cold night locked in a cell - while trying to hide the injury he sustained in the fight...
We don't often get pure fluff between these two, but there are definitely some glimpses of it when Piper's hanging out in the Man Cave. I'd love to see them chatting, snacking, playing board games, watching weird tv, teasing and nudging each other... All the things they get up to between emergency calls. And Piper learning the truth definitely brings some calm to their relationship, but you could set it before she even knows - they must've had some good days (or at least hours) where they enjoyed their time together. Maybe on Piper's birthday? Or making gingerbread at Christmas? A snowball fight that lets Piper channel her aggression in a fun way? Making flower crowns - and Henry happily being "forced" into wearing one? Visiting the sights and stalls at another of Swellview's weirdly specific local conventions? An indoor picnic while Henry's babysitting Piper - snacks spread across the coffee table, each sprawled on one half of the couch, watching some cheesy tv?
These two both clearly have a lot of angst bubbling underneath the surface. Maybe they'd do some delicious wallowing in it first, but I'd love to see Henry and Piper make an attempt to open up to each other - a lot of their shared pain comes from the way their parents treat them, and maybe it would help them to actually talk through it, to know that someone understands exactly what they've suffered. Of course, they both have a tendency to bury their real feelings, to avoid painful vulnerability, so it would probably be a hesitant, faltering, defensive journey towards honesty... especially when they're so used to fighting with each other. But it seems like a conversation they need to have, and maybe one they could have once Piper's grown up a bit, calmed down, and learned Henry's secret. Does it burst out of them in a tense moment of superhero peril? Or does one of them broach it in a quieter moment, maybe after something brings up the sadness? Or when their parents have locked them up together again? Maybe it would be Henry revealing his superhero trauma to Piper instead - he's certainly experienced a lot of it. Is it prompted by nearly dying on the blimp, or the lessons he learns in the movie, or just a desperate attempt to rebut Piper's assertion that being a superhero is so cool and fun?

Henry Hart/Ray Manchester

Whatever's going on here, these two are clearly more than hero and sidekick. They can't keep their hands off each other - touching shoulders, clutching wrists, hugging - and they're both blase about Henry climbing across Ray's body. They're completely on each other's wavelength, always quipping and egging each other on. They're a team, they're in their own world, separate from everyone else and special to each other. They literally say "I love you"! The shippy vibes start ridic and just continually escalate, it's unhinged. So many times I've paused to go "wait, did they really" - and yes, they really. None of this was an accident. By the Danger Force era, it might be played for laughs, but it's clearly not a joke. Henry and Ray is framed as a romance and we're meant to see it.

The first episode says Henry is completely average, but he's clearly so much more. He's charming, though often goofy. He's not a genius, but he's adaptable and quick on his feet. He's sweet and caring, though sometimes smug. And he's brave, even self-sacrificing, giving up his childhood to be Kid Danger - willing to give his life for Ray. Plus, like, you've seen grown up Henry, right? Holy shit, no wonder Ray drools all over himself.

Ray is weirdly likeable, though he's immature, arrogant, volatile and selfish - often oblivious or thoughtless, but rarely malicious. I'd prefer a "jerk with a heart of gold" interpretation; I don't want him taking advantage of Henry on purpose. When crunchtime comes, he will put others first - before Henry threw him off that blimp, Ray was insistent he'd be the martyr. And under that manchild veneer, I think there's complexity lurking. After being densitised at eight years old, Ray's father isolated him for superhero training. Does that mean he has difficulty relating to anyone outside of a hero-rescuee structure? Does being so removed mean he struggles with empathy? Maybe it explains why he's so afraid of ageing - he doesn't want to admit that the childhood he never had is over - and why his scale of what's appropriate for a teenage sidekick is so, well, inappropriate.

This show often has its characters behave callously for comedic effect - being dismissive, ignoring hurts - and I'm fine with a little of that. But ultimately I want to feel that they care about each other, so please have them be kind if the problem is serious. (This applies to Charlotte, Jasper, Schwoz and Piper too - and you're welcome to include any of them. Though it's fine to depict Henry's parents as neglectful and/or emotionally abusive. Please don't include Piper's crush on Kid Danger though.) My favourite villains are Drex, Dr Minyak, Jeff, and Kyle, but feel free to invent your own villain instead, if relevant. And you're welcome to have them menacing Henry - I love how much he gets held up by his throat - or to use the implication that Drex/Ray had a thing.

I don't want Henry and Ray getting together before Henry is 17 (though it's fine if Henry has feelings before that) and I don't want them having sex before Henry is 18 (though kissing is welcome). Ray reflexively calling Henry "kid" is fine, even during sex, as long as it's clear Henry is an adult - though if it is during sex, I'd expect Henry to disapprove. (I'm not looking for ageplay or agekink here.) But I'm fine with acknowledging there are unhealthy aspects to their relationship, and the age difference, though I don't want it to be damaging - I want to believe they can build something positive. And if that's unrealistic, well, it's a show about superheroes. Getting together and established relationship both welcome - as are fluff, smut, hurt/comfort, angsty mutual pining, and canon-typical adventures or tropey shenanigans. And feel free to set it during the original show, or in the Danger Force era, or even post-movie.

Narrative Prompts

This show is already full of tropes - bodyswap! time travel! mind control! - so it's perfectly suited to other kinds of hijinks. Maybe Ray and Henry touch something in a supervillain's lair that accidentally soulbonds them. Or the villain's plan involves magically handcuffing them together. Or Henry and Ray need to go undercover again - this time as a couple. I love the way these two banter, their comfortable rapport, how they casually touch each other constantly - so some fluffy fun that throws them into another wacky scenario (officially shippy edition) and lets them chew on it would be great.
For something angstier, these two could easily slip into mutual pining. Despite Ray's engagement joke, their fierce bond clearly started as platonic - and broaching a change when they start getting butterflies might not be easy. Henry acts both jealous and affectionate, but Ray might not read that as flirting when it's so different to how Henry behaves with girls he likes. And Ray's declaration in Secret Beef that he thinks of Henry as a younger brother probably looms large in Henry's memory every time Ray calls him "kid", even if Henry no longer sees a child in the mirror. Plus, Ray doesn't seem big on self-reflection, so maybe he hasn't even realised what he's feeling - yeah, he knows he loves Henry, but that doesn't mean he's twigged that he loves Henry. So maybe poor Henry is suffering with the fear Ray will never see him that way - and oblivious Ray blunders past every desperate hint, even as they're practically dating anyway. What finally clues them in? Henry breaking down in tears, or being seriously injured, or a supervillain's truth serum...?
Their age difference might lead to some raised eyebrows, but I'd love to see Ray and Henry happily if hesitantly launching their relationship, maybe once Henry's in his twenties and is more visibly an established adult. Show me the first time they kiss in public, or hold hands as they stroll down the street, or go on a romantic date to a restaurant. Or the fifth time, or the fiftieth... Or simply cosying up at home - bantering through breakfast, bickering about chores, draping across each other on the couch. After all they've been through, these two deserve some comfy domesticity. Or some sweet moments, when they can't fully be open yet, even if they're ambiguously romantic enough for their villains to assign them as boyfriends - grabbing some fast food as a casual date, catching a film and holding hands in the dark of the movie theatre, giggly makeouts in the privacy of the Man Cave...
Ray might be indestructible, but Henry isn't. I'd love Ray bumbling through some comfort for hurt Henry, tender feelings sparking in a vulnerable situation. Maybe Henry is just achey and bruised from combat, and Ray applies some pain-relief gel like he did in The Rock Box Dump - but this time he's rubbing it into Henry's bare chest. Maybe it's a more serious injury, and Henry's whimpers set Ray's pulse skittering as he tries to protect his teenage sidekick. Maybe a mission exposes Henry to a toxin that causes intense nausea, and Ray sits with him till it wears off, providing both backrubs and tactless jokes as Henry tries not to vomit. Or maybe a villain invents some kind of pain pollen - and it even works on Ray, leaving Henry to awkwardly comfort his mentor instead.
With all the trauma of superhero life, it's no wonder Ray canonically has nightmares. Maybe after another one, he triple beeps Henry in the middle of the night - the way he apparently has before - and Henry has to calm Ray down, soothe him, help him get back to sleep, even though Henry is so much younger and exhausted himself. Or maybe it happens while they're on a stakeout, or captured and locked in a cell together overnight. Or while Henry is visiting the Man's Nest? Or once they're living together as a couple, sharing a bed, and Ray starts writhing and crying out next to Henry. Or Henry could be the one who has the nightmare! He's been put through plenty of trauma too!
Considering Henry was too busy to even attend school, and he hasn't dated anyone since he was fourteen, he's probably still a virgin... before Ray gets him naked, of course. Is Henry eager for his first time with the man he's trusted for years, or nervous about opening up in a way he never has before? Is Ray fond but teasing as he gently guides Henry through it, or trying to bluff and bluster his way through his own first same-sex experience? Maybe they've been dating for a while and it's a sweet and giggly special night, with Ray even sprinkling some rose petals for flower-lover Henry. Maybe it's a desperately passionate consummation right after confessing their feelings. Maybe they're not together yet, but one of Ray's boasts veers sideways into offering Henry sex lessons as well as superhero training - then finds the intimacy more emotionally intense than he expected.
A supervillain's plot or one of Schwoz's inventions or a wacky happenstance douses Ray and/or Henry in sex pollen, resulting in a need to fuck. Maybe Henry's crushing hard, so when Ray gets pollened he jumps at the opportunity, thinking it's his only chance to do this with him - but quickly becomes overwhelmed by the intimacy himself. Maybe Henry's the one affected, and Ray's torn between saving his barely-adult friend and not taking advantage, even as Henry's begging for him. Maybe it happens when Henry's older, during the Dystopia or Newtown years, and it's a frenzied fuck as they go at each other - but do they babble out their feelings in the heat of the moment, or awkwardly sidle their way to the truth in the aftermath?
Both these guys seem like they're really kinky and yet have absolutely no clue about kink at all. I can definitely see them bumbling into a situation, completely failing to negotiate anything, and powering through purely on the strength of sharing the same braincell. Henry pinning Ray to the wall with his forcefield in The Supies suggests bondage might be on the table. They've already got some complicated power dynamics going on, so maybe they'd slip into some dom/sub - whichever way around. Henry loved being chased by Kyle in Rumblr. Maybe some sparring would get them hot and bothered - or result in one accidentally having a coregasm. There's lots of possibilities!
I'd love to see some omegaverse for these two as well. Maybe a villain's weapon or a missed suppressant dose or simply reaching adulthood results in omega Henry going into heat, and who is he going to beg for help but his mentor Ray, the alpha he's loved for ages? But can Ray hold back his alpha instincts enough to be gentle with nervous virgin Henry? Or maybe Ray is the omega in heat, and Henry is the inexperienced alpha trying to soothe his needy boss, dealing with those desperate pleas and grasping hands and his own overwhelming feelings with no guidance but his own instincts. Or maybe alpha Henry's a little older, has had himself some experience in Dystopia, and takes charge when omega Ray unexpectedly plunges into a heat on a visit - but Henry's practical attitude isn't enough to stave off the old feelings that bubble up as they get intimate. Maybe Ray hadn't even realised he's an omega - because his superpower disguised it, or because he was stubbornly ignoring every clue - and trusting Henry to knot him for the first time is pretty overwhelming. (Also Ray would definitely be into breeding and pregnancy, whether he's the one impregnating or the one getting mpregged. Just saying.)

A Mini Primer for the Curious

Mia was just an awkward American teenager, hoping to skate by unnoticed, maybe get a boyfriend, and not break any more stuff - till her estranged grandmother swooped in to reveal that Mia is the sole heir to the throne of an obscure European country. Now she must balance princess lessons with press intrusion and personal struggles, as she decides whether she wants to accept her royal role - and how much she's willing to give up to keep the crown.

You don't need to have read the books to watch these films - they diverge pretty sharply. The first is a fun teen comedy, but my requests mostly focus on the second movie, which introduces a sparky new enemies-to-lovers ship as Mia moves to Genovia to ascend to the throne - only to be told she must marry within 30 days, or cede the crown to her rival. Full of tropes, wish fulfillment, and royal glamour, the Genovian setting also offers plenty of room for worldbuilding.

Characters

Mia (Anne Hathaway) was a normal, if rather clumsy, teenage girl - till she discovered her secret heritage. Taking the throne would give her the power to further her good causes, but it also throws a sharp spotlight on her flaws and exposes her to treachery.
Clarisse (Julie Andrews) is Mia's polished and diplomatic grandmother, the current Queen of Genovia. She doesn't always understand Mia's struggles, but is ever ready to offer advice.
Joseph (Hector Elizondo) is the royal chief of security. A dependable and steady presence, he becomes Mia's protector, chaperone, and mentor.
Lilly (Heather Matarazzo) is Mia's best friend since childhood. Always ready to speak her mind, Lilly is as much an outsider as Mia was - and sometimes responds imperfectly to the new situation.
Andrew (Callum Blue) is the sweet and dutiful English duke that Mia chooses as her arranged marriage suitor - though there's zero romantic spark between them.
Nicholas (Chris Pine) is a flirty, charming Genovian noble - with a rival claim to the throne. Raised by his manipulative uncle, he opposes handing the crown to a clumsy foreign-born princess - but displays a softer side as he warms up to her.

Notes on the Franchise

As they diverge significantly from the movies on many important aspects (Clarisse, Mia's father, Genovian worldbuilding, the endgame ship) please do not use any book canon for my movie requests. This includes the Olivia Grace spinoff books - I do not consider Olivia to be a character that exists in the movie continuity.

Nicholas Devereaux/Mia Thermopolis

This is such a great example of enemies to lovers. I love that they're kind and flirty at their first meeting, because they're immediately attracted to each other, and that even once they're enemies they can't hide that sexual tension. But their enmity is based on both seeking something only one of them can have rather than ideological differences: Nicholas seems more motivated by whether Mia's going to be a good queen and whether she really knows Genovia (and by his uncle's influence), and not a personal hunger for power. So once he's convinced of her capability (and she of his sincerity) and he gives up his claim to the crown, there's no question about whether they'd be able to find common ground.

I love both the push-and-pull of Nicholas flirting and Mia trying to resist (in the closet, by the fountain, the deleted scene in the kitchen) as well as them being soft and friendly with each other: Nicholas supporting Mia by helping with her archery, and the night they spend together before her wedding where we see them opening up emotionally, dancing close, and falling asleep in each other's arms. So I'd love a post-canon continuation of that as their relationship develops, or is fully established, or a missing scene while Nicholas is still living at the palace and they keep running into each other. Or maybe an AU?

I liked Andrew as a character so no bashing of him please, and it's fine to have Mia/Andrew's unromantic engagement happening in the background or to show them amicably breaking up. Also happy for Clarisse/Joe to be in the background, or for Lilly to visit again. Or cute appearances by Fat Louie the cat or Maurice the dog!

More of Nicholas cooking for Mia? Maybe she's worrying about losing the crown and can't sleep, so goes to get a midnight snack, and he just happens to want one too - and there's both softness and tension as he prepares and shares something amazing. Or them as an established couple: flirting over a normal breakfast, Nicholas learning Mia's favourite foods, or him going all out with a special romantic dinner.
Dealing with the press or public officials now that Mia's queen. Maybe after the scandal of Mia's broken engagement and being caught sleeping in Nicholas's arms the press are even more interested in all the gossip - and the two of them have to rely on each other during a series of intense "look, we're engaged" press events. Or maybe something fluffier and more humourous, with Nicholas subtly helping to support Mia as she mingles at an event.
Or silly fluff based on Mia's continuing clumsiness. Nicholas seemed amused and forgiving when she stepped on his foot the first time, and when she fell on him climbing down from her window. So more of that: Mia causing minor chaos and Nicholas calmly dealing with it, or maybe a fall results in an intimate position that gets them riled up and means they spend the rest of an event jittering because they're desperate to be alone.
I'd be interested to see how these two and their dynamic play out in other settings: steampunk AU, daemon AU, Hogwarts AU? Regency AU, where the scandal with Nicholas almost ruins her? Or Mia can't convince parliament to change the law and Nicholas has to marry her right then so she can keep the crown? Fantasy AU where they're both competing to be the next leader of a dragonrider battalion? Or a genderswap: how does the plot change if Nicholas is Nicola, and also needs to marry to get the crown?
Presumably they're going to need children to be heirs to the crown, so anything to do with that. Soft fluffy moments during pregnancy as they look forward to their first child - or hurt/comfort where Mia has morning sickness and Nicholas looks after her. The joys of raising their kids together: maybe Nicholas using his skill for accents to read a bedtime story while Mia's heart melts? Or maybe some breeding kink smut, as they prepare to make that baby.
Mia said she's never been in love before, so is she a virgin? Would love to see experienced Nicholas slowly and gently taking her virginity - and being surprised himself at how intense and intimate sex is with a partner he loves. Do they have a short engagement and wait until their wedding night? Or do they decide to take that step before then, once they feel secure in their feelings and trust?
Maybe Mia's rule continues into the bedroom and she enthusiastically, if somewhat awkwardly, doms a happily submissive Nicholas. Or maybe at the end of the day she wants to relax and let him take control, so he doms her instead. Kneeling, collaring, bondage, pegging and swearing of fealty all very welcome. (Or maybe discipline or painplay? I'll be honest: when Nicholas said "you can step on my foot anytime", my brain heard "hurt me, mistress", so...)
Omega Mia goes into heat. Maybe they get trapped in a closet, pre-relationship, and the air's full of scent and tension - but alpha Nicholas never crosses the line, and just gently comforts her instead of taking advantage. (Maybe, against her better judgement, she lets him hold her close so she can smell his calming alpha scent.) Or maybe some enthusiastic mating and knotting once they're an established couple.

A Mini Primer for the Curious

A loyal and enthusiastic golden labrador named Rufus finds a mysterious amulet and gains the ability to turn into a teenage boy. After a recent move cross-country, his owner Manny is struggling to make friends - so Rufus offers to use his new power to become Manny's best friend at home and at school. But when goofy Rufus unexpectedly becomes hyperpopular himself, social politics aren't the only threat to their new lives - a dangerous enemy also knows about the amulet, and covets its power...

These half-length movies are undeniably weird and yet strangely appealing. Filmed in live action, your enjoyment will depend on your tolerance for watching an actual teenage boy pretending to be a dog pretending to be a boy. And this canon is definitely aimed at kids - even the higher-stakes peril relies on somewhat ridiculous villains. But if you like loyalty, found family, and animal transformation tropes, you might get a kick out of this.

Characters

Rufus (Jace Norman) is a golden labrador, literally and metaphorically. He loves playing, eating, and hanging out, and is really excited to be human - but even with all his time observing Manny, his irrepressible doggy traits make it difficult to keep up the ruse.
Manny (Davis Cleveland) is Rufus's owner and best friend. Sweet yet sensible, he's mostly responsible for reining Rufus in - but Manny has vulnerable struggles of his own.
Paige (Haley Tju) is the school's teen newspaper reporter. Clever, curious and principled, she proves to be a reliable ally.
Kat (Jade Pettyjohn) is the cool and mysterious new girl at school. Introduced in the sequel, she's very focused on Rufus - and cornering him alone. But why would a boy that's secretly a dog interest a girl like Kat? You'll totally never guess...

Kat/Rufus

Literal black cat/golden retriever couple! Well, okay, golden labrador. But these two are adorable and they have such soft, fun chemistry. I love how aloof, dismissive Kat slowly warms up to Rufus as she learns to set her prejudices aside and enjoy who he really is - and how she becomes a more sincere, dependable, affectionate figure herself, that harshness and scheming melting to an intelligent and practical ally. Most of her feline traits blend with being a human teenager better than Rufus's canine ones - but I think it's cute when she lets the weirder ones shine through.

Rufus is so earnest and enthusiastic, and he's open about his interest in Kat right from the beginning. But his worries about driving her away cause him to mask his doggy urges - a pointless endeavour when Kat knows his secret all along. It's only when he lets his actual personality shine - his bravery, his loyalty, his goofy joy - that he wins her over for real. Not only is dropping the pretense healthier for both of them, but indulging their animal traits together is when they become most supportive and comfortable - they think they're opposites, but they actually fit together perfectly, understanding each other in a way neither the humans nor the other animals in their lives do. I love them playing in the yarn shop together: proof that they can connect and have genuine fun as a couple. Kat rubbing her cheek on Rufus's shoulder and purring is so cute, likewise Rufus's flustered moment near the end when Kat turns back into a girl in his arms. Even if their animal behaviours look objectively odd on human teenagers, I find the sincerity of it really appealing.

These movies both fully indulge the wackiness of the premise, but also allow the characters to have grounded and realistic feelings about the events, and I love that combo. But feel free to lean towards the silliness for some comedic fluff, or to focus on their emotions for something angsty or hurt/comfort. (I'm not a fan of embarrassment humour, but luckily the other kids love the doggy hijinks and Rufus seems to be immune to embarrassment anyway - so if you stick to that vibe, it should be fine.) No sexual content please, even implied, even if they're aged up and in human form. But closed-mouth kissing as humans is fine, and holding hands, cuddling, hair stroking, etc. Also fine with dog Rufus licking Kat's face and/or cat Kat grooming Rufus. Please don't have either one of them get stuck as an animal forever though, and no references to their animal lifespans either. But feel free to include Manny, Paige, Mr and Mrs Garcia, and so on, and background Manny/Paige is welcome as well.

Narrative Prompts

What do their dates look like, now they don't need to keep up the human ruse with each other? Do they still do the fun things that human teens would do - catching a movie, grabbing some fast food, dancing at a teen club? And what minor chaos would their animal habits cause there? Or would they lean into activities more like the yarn shop - unconventional ones that suit their animal preferences? Epic games of tag, where they chase and flee, both getting to play at hunting? Kat knocking things off a ledge so Rufus can fetch them? Visiting the pet shop? (And are any of these double dates with Manny/Paige, either baffling their human friends, or tugging on their help to hide the secret from strangers?)
Or I'd love some fluff about the more casual moments of daily life. Do they hang out at Manny's house? Maybe Rufus and Kat both love cuddling - do they drape themselves together on the couch to watch tv? Do they enjoy burritoing in a blanket? Cats are liquid - does Kat squeeze herself into weird positions around Rufus? Does she like grooming him - either fixing his hair with her hands, or licking him in cat form? How do they navigate things with Manny's parents? And what are Rufus and Kat like at school - do they hold hands in the lunch room? Maybe they try to pass lovenotes in class - or maybe they can communicate in some animal or magical way nobody else can hear? Do Rufus and Kat (and Manny and Paige) do their homework together? And how good are they at any of the school subjects, considering they've not had a human education?
Or there's some delicious angst you could mine. Is their relationship frowned upon, even forbidden? Kat's mother might have agreed to let Rufus keep the amulet, even for Kat to train him, but that doesn't mean she'd be happy about her daughter actually dating a dog - or that the rest of the Clowder would approve. Seems like Kat's mother might be one of the Cat Elders, and they trust Kat with an amulet, despite her apparent youth - does Kat have a high status in cat society? Will she be expected to live up to that, both magically and socially? Maybe dallying with a dog would be tolerated short term, or while Kat is young - but what happens if she and Rufus start getting serious? Maybe she would angst about her duty to the Clowder; maybe Rufus would angst about being deemed good enough for her.
Some gentle hurt/comfort would be great too. Maybe Rufus gets a mild injury (grazed arm, twisted ankle, some bruises) while playing sports, or during another adventure. Will Rufus want Kat to stroke him, scritch him, snuggle him - even if they're in human form? Is that what Kat's feline instincts would lead her to do, or would she comfort him some other way - and would Rufus like it just as much? Or is that a complicated issue they need to navigate? Maybe Kat would be the injured one instead. Would Rufus's urgent doggy concern be overwhelming for a more reserved type like Kat? Is Kat googling things like icepacks or pain-relief gel on her phone?
I'd love another adventure for them as well, whether comedic like canon or with a slightly more serious level of threat. Feel free to bring Mr S back - but there must be lots of others who'd want to get their hands on those amulets, whether they're squirrels or humans or a villainous dog or cat. Maybe Manny and/or Paige get kidnapped, and it's up to Kat and Rufus to rescue them. Maybe Kat and Rufus themselves get captured, and have to figure out how to escape without any of Paige's clever ideas - or have to comfort each other while locked in a cell together. Maybe one of the Cat Elders is displeased about Rufus having an amulet, and initiates some political wrangling to get it back - forcing Kat and Rufus to navigate the situation delicately, not able to charge in claws blazing because the Elder isn't exactly a villain. Maybe there's no enemy to foil at all - maybe the amulet leads them to another kind of magical artifact, and they have to return it to somewhere its power will be safe - or stop it leaking magic into the locality, where it's causing chaotic shenanigans.
Not exactly a prompt in itself, but I would love some worldbuilding for this canon. I'm so curious about the amulets and how the magic works! Or what it's like - physically, emotionally, sensorially - to be a dog or a cat in human form! Or about those dragons?! Kat mentions there used to be dragons! Part of the reason Kat's mother objected is that Rufus isn't trained to protect the amulet. Is the intention that Kat teaches him how? I'd love to see Kat training Rufus to use the amulet better, or to learn magic more generally. You could lean towards the humourous side, with Rufus frequently getting distracted, or Kat being a fussy feline teacher. Or go for a more serious tone, with Rufus doing his best to progress. Or some romantic tension, as they try to keep their minds on business, even as the magic demonstration requires them to hold hands. Or there's lots of space for worldbuilding in their training sessions - or in the results. Maybe Rufus unlocks some new kind of power in the amulet - one the cats have never seen before - and that sets off an adventure plot?

Manny Garcia & Rufus

I didn't expect to get so invested in their friendship but I have so many feelings about them. Rufus is so incredibly earnest, a real bundle of enthusiasm and joy as he soaks up all these newly possible experiences. The way his doggy traits translate to his human form make him an adorable oddball - it's so strange to see a teenage boy pleading for treats, nuzzling into scritches, lighting up when he sees a ball... but he's so intensely genuine about expressing his feelings that it all becomes sweet. He's also keen to pick up human ways, to keep the ruse going, but he's so irrepressibly canine that he's constantly doing the "wrong" thing - but his sincerity always makes it the right thing, at least with his favourite people. He's playful, affectionate, brave, and loyal - Rufus is a very good boy, even when he's not very good at being a boy.

Manny is the straight man to Rufus's weirdness, but he has some goofy humour of his own, a quieter kind of charisma, and he's brave and practical in the face of danger. And he has a touching vulnerability about his social position, with his insecurities leading him to hurtful words - but he's not too proud to admit his flaws, quickly apologising when he sees he was wrong. He's not a dazzling figure like Rufus, but Manny is sweet and likeable. And, let's be honest, pretty patient with Rufus's relentless energy.

These two clearly love just hanging out, playing together, spending time together. Under their unusual dog-owner dynamic, there's a strong emotional connection - one that surpasses species. Rufus is completely about Manny: he's found his best friend and he's all in on that. When he turns into a boy, Rufus uses that to gain more time with Manny, to support him in his social struggles. When he becomes the centre of attention, Rufus soaks it up - and sends it all back in Manny's direction. He's so loyal that the idea of disloyalty doesn't even exist for him. It's just so dog. But there is a sharp edge to Rufus's intense affection: he's so hungry for Manny's attention that it must be wearying sometimes. And Manny is in the impossible position of needing to maintain discipline with a pet that has opposable thumbs, no verbal filter, and puppy dog eyes that are somehow even bigger in human form - but despite the canine whirlwind of chaos, Manny is desperate not to lose any part of what they have, tearfully begging Rufus to be alright when he thinks the dart hit him.

I love how these movies both fully indulge the wackiness of the premise, but also allow the characters to have grounded and realistic feelings about the events. Feel free to lean towards the silliness for some comedic fluff, or to focus on their emotions for something angsty or hurt/comfort. (I'm not a fan of embarrassment humour, but luckily the other kids love the doggy hijinks and Rufus seems to be immune to embarrassment anyway - so if you stick to that vibe, it should be fine.) I'm also interested in the tension between the two ends of that spectrum: some doggy traits are objectively weird when Rufus is in boy form, and Manny could easily find those interactions both awkward and tenderly affectionate - like stroking Rufus's hair to comfort him even if he's a boy. I'd love to see Manny hesitantly indulging those things, embracing some of Rufus's lack of shame, letting them find meaningful connection in it. But please, no sexual content (even implied), nothing about Rufus's doggy lifespan, and don't have him be stuck as a dog forever. Feel to include Manny's parents though, and background Manny/Paige and Rufus/Kat are both welcome!

I'd love some fluffy slice of life stuff as Rufus tries out all these new human experiences. Maybe he's eager for his first pillow fight. Maybe he chomps his way through the foods he couldn't eat before: pizza, popsicles, curry, cake... Maybe Rufus wants to help Manny build a gingerbread house, but keeps trying to eat all the ingredients. Or what about places Rufus couldn't go before? Maybe there's a funfair in town, and Rufus is excited to stuff himself with cotton candy and ride all the rides - till he makes himself sick. Maybe Rufus is excited for the big new blockbuster film that's just come out - so Manny has to wrangle his dog into behaving properly in the movie theatre. Or maybe Manny teaches Rufus how to ride a bike, or how to swim with human limbs, or how to build a snowman. Do the Garcias throw a proper party for Rufus on his next birthday? How do they take him on vacation?
Or fluff about Rufus and his doggy traits, and the fun or hijinks they cause! Maybe a summer picnic goes awry when Rufus unwisely tries to befriend a nosy wasp. Maybe Rufus is meant to be helping Manny with yardwork - but can't resist the urge to keep diving into the big soft piles of autumn leaves. Maybe Manny wants to have a snowball fight with Rufus - but without his fur Rufus really feels the cold, so he eagerly waddles outside in three coats and a stack of hats. Maybe Rufus rolls all around in some mud, then protests at the idea of being hosed down, so Manny has to figure out how to get him up to the shower without smearing mud through the whole house. Or Rufus completely misunderstanding Valentine's Day, and trying to show his platonic love for everyone - but especially Manny? Or Rufus being excited that his new hands mean he can decorate the Christmas tree this year - even if he's overly flexible about what counts as a decoration, with a dog's attitude that more is more... And, of course, there's his inexplicable need to chew shoes, even in human form. Whether in daily life or on seasonal holidays, there are so many ways Rufus could drag Manny into adorable shenanigans.
Some gentle hurt/comfort would be great too. Maybe Rufus gets a mild injury (grazed arm, twisted ankle, some bruises) during another adventure, or while playing sports. Maybe he has a nightmare, and wriggles into Manny's bed. Maybe overeating or some magical mishap or a boat trip makes Rufus really nauseous. Does he still expect Manny to comfort him as he'd comfort a dog - stroking, scritching, snuggling? Is Manny weirded out by the idea of petting human Rufus's hair? Maybe Manny pushes through his reluctance and finds it's not so different, because Rufus is always Rufus. Or maybe Manny is the one who's scared or hurt - and Rufus tries to soothe him the way he's always been soothed himself! Does Manny unexpectedly find that comforting, even if he wouldn't want to admit it?
There's room for a bit of light angst as well. In the second movie, Rufus struggles more with the intricacies of human behaviour, and it seems like that'd only get harder as Manny grows older. Maybe a new scenario requires Rufus to do more than clown around, and he angsts about his ability to mask his doggy traits - at least while Manny (and Paige) are teaching him what to do, with Rufus messing up the practise roleplays, and then getting sad... But Manny cheers him up, they persevere, and Rufus scrapes through in the end?
Or there's that moment when Manny says Rufus came from the pound, and Rufus seems shocked/horrified, like he's just been told he's adopted. They backburner his reaction to concentrate on the adventure, and never come back to it onscreen, but I doubt even Rufus would forget completely. Is being a rescue dog a shameful thing in dog society? Does he angst about his place in the family now he knows? Did Rufus not realise that being a dog meant he couldn't be Manny's biological brother - did he think there's some kind of puppy stork? Why does Rufus not remember the pound - was he just a little puppy at the time? Maybe his mother was rescued and had her litter in the pound, so Rufus just has vague memories of napping and eating and playing with his siblings. Maybe Manny happened along just after Rufus arrived at the pound, so he wasn't there very long. But has the discovery shaken Rufus's sense of self? Does he need Manny's reassurance?

A Mini Primer for the Curious

On the day he was born, an advanced battleship crossed from another dimension to this one, shattering Jim Kirk's family forever. Years later, Kirk is not a legendary starship captain, but a rebellious young man drunkenly starting bar fights - till a chance encounter sets him on a new path. But as destruction threatens the entire Vulcan race, Kirk may be the only hope for his fated companion Spock - if they can stop arguing long enough to save the universe.

These films reboot the original TV series in an alternate timeline, with a more action-oriented focus. While the characters are compelling and still fit their archetypes, the massive changes to their world set them on a trajectory that's both familiar and yet very different. But there are still some great found family feels among the crew of the Enterprise, and plenty of shipping options, in this slick scifi offering.

Characters

James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) is a reckless and charming young officer, used to breaking rules and flirting up a storm. But buried beneath his angst is a keen mind, a brave heart, and protective spirit.
Spock (Zachary Quinto) is half human, but raised on his father's homeworld of Vulcan, where cold logic rules all. Battered by world-shattering events, Spock is torn between his emotions and his reason.

Notes on the Franchise

You don't need to have seen any other Star Trek to create in this fandom for me. I watched these films with only vague memories of bits of the original series, and formed my headcanons based entirely on the material in these movies. So I'd actually prefer no reference to any backstories from the original show here, even if the events would've happened before the timeline diverged. For example, as far as I'm concerned, this Kirk is an only child. That said, Tarsus IV is a tempting source of angst - but if you want to use it, please include a brief explanation of why Kirk was there, as obviously his father couldn't have been stationed on Tarsus in this timeline. (Literally just one sentence is fine. Can be a flimsy reason too, I just need something.) I'm also generally fine with worldbuilding details from the wider franchise, such as meeting aliens or visiting planets that aren't established in the three reboot movies. But please make sure that the fanwork doesn't hinge on me having prior knowledge of those details, because I most likely do not.

James T. Kirk/Christopher Pike

I love that Pike was the first one to believe in Kirk - and the one who got Kirk to believe in himself. He finds this young guy losing a bar fight and tells him he can do more, be better, live up to not only his potential but his father's legacy. And Kirk hears that challenge and says no, I'll do even better than that.

But there's a tension between them: Pike encourages Kirk's out-of-the-box thinking and urge for heroics, but also expects him to follow the rules (or at least know which rules to break and when). Kirk wants that approval, wants to excel, but he's used to rebellion and reckless behaviour and is willing to risk more than other people are comfortable with. There's this push and pull where they're trying to find where the line should fall, and maybe that could play into how they are as a couple: not quite sure if their relationship is appropriate or it's going too far, if it's going to make Kirk a better man or screw him up more.

As a captain, Pike seems kind and steady but also willing to make unconventional choices, and he gives Kirk a chance to speak even when he's just stowed away on his ship. Kirk respects him and wants his respect in return but also chafes against the hierarchy of Starfleet. I'd love to see their relationship blossom into more, with Pike being encouraging but maybe also conflicted, and Kirk finding a sense of safety even as he's unsettled by commitment. Or maybe they have to rely on their platonic relationship to get them through a sexual encounter caused by sex pollen or alien demands or an omegaverse heat.

Not looking for daddy kink here but Kirk's daddy issues are welcome. He obviously has some trauma with regards to his father (and presumably his abusive stepfather) and that's part of why he is the way he is. But with everything that happens in space, they probably both have some trauma due to the terrible things they've seen, maybe even PTSD, and that could play into some hurt/comfort.

If you set this during or after Into Darkness please go AU and have Pike live! (No preference for whether you call them Jim/Kirk or Chris/Pike, use what you prefer.)

An AU where Kirk becomes Pike's first officer, either as canon divergence partway through Into Darkness or for some other reason. I liked the brief bits we saw of them working together in the first film, with Pike listening to Kirk's warning and then taking him off in the shuttle, and Kirk later rescuing Pike. I'd love to see them get to spend more time travelling the universe as direct leader and subordinate, and how their relationship could develop - first professionally, and then romantically. Is there mutual pining, with Pike feeling guilty about the age difference and the potential abuse of power, and Kirk worrying that Pike will never see him that way? Or do they just naturally slide into it? This could be a good opportunity for some hurt/comfort, dramatic action where they protect each other, and/or them showing their respect for each other's intellectual capabilities as they work together on a plan or a diplomatic mission.
Or an AU where Into Darkness never happens and Pike's still around when Kirk is an older, wiser, struggling-with-ennui captain. Does Kirk go to Pike for advice? Do they begin to feel more like equals as Kirk rises up the ranks? Maybe Pike stops thinking of Kirk as too young and starts thinking of himself as too old, and Kirk has to show that his respect for him has only grown. Maybe another meeting in a bar results in a mutual agreement to spend one night together. Maybe a new danger sends Admiral Pike back into space with Kirk, and one of them being injured or having a close call with death results in an admission of feelings?
Due to sex pollen/omega Kirk going into heat/being captured by aliens who demand they perform some kind of sex ritual, Pike and Kirk have to fuck. Maybe Pike tries to be kind and gentle and protect Kirk through the process, but maybe he also feels guilty about finding pleasure in it. Maybe Kirk thinks he'll be fine because he's slept around so much, but maybe the experience is unsettlingly intimate. Afterwards, maybe they go back to a professional relationship, or maybe having sex stirs up some unexpected feelings and they become a couple - or mutually pine for a romantic relationship.
BDSM AU, either where everyone is innately a dom or sub, or where Starfleet is a D/s hierarchy. Pike takes Kirk on as a sub, at the academy or while serving together on a ship, as part of guiding this rebellious young man towards being a good officer in his own right. Maybe Kirk chafes against the rules of a BDSM world as much as the rules of Starfleet, but secretly longs to be made to submit and enjoys the physical aspects of their arrangement. Maybe Pike tries to stay professional and detached, but can't help becoming emotionally involved - and feeling guilty about it.

It might not reach the heights of the classic film, but it's a touching tale with catchy songs, memorable new characters, and lots of family feels. Notes on the Franchise

This is ostensibly a prequel to the 1971 movie starring Gene Wilder - though you don't need to have seen that to follow the plot of this one. In fact, if you want to create for my request, I'd prefer you ignore that earlier movie - as I enjoy the softer view and lighter tone that this film presents, especially where Wonka himself is concerned. It's not technically a retcon, but I find it hard to see how the innocent young man of this movie could become the sharp-edged figure presented in other versions, and I'm very much prompting for fanworks that feature a kindly Wonka. So, broad strokes future info like him having a chocolate factory is fine, but for this request please take this film as existing in an alternate universe to the books and other movies.

Notes on Identity Headcanons

Aroace Wonka
I get big aroace vibes from Wonka. He's so focused on chocolate and (found) family - attraction doesn't seem to figure at all, even when helping other people fall in love. And he's so confident, optimistic and unashamedly himself that I don't think he'd suppress an interest if he had one, so I can only conclude that he doesn't. All of his most important relationships and emotional moments are platonic ones. And my interest here is very much in his friendship with Noodle, so neither sex nor romance is really relevant. So you're welcome to depict him as aroace, or simply avoid the topic if you see him another way - or it's just not relevant to your fanwork.

Aspec Noodle
I can see Noodle being aro and/or ace as well, if you want to include that. But again, neither sex nor romance is relevant to my friendship request, so you don't need to bring her inclination up at all. I just enjoy the idea of them being happy aroace besties.

Noodle & Willy Wonka

Their friendship is adorable. I love the joy and support they bring to each other's lives. And despite the age difference, that exchange is mutual, and I love how that adds to the dynamic. At 22, Wonka is a young man embarking on his career, confident in his chocolatier skills and brimming with optimism - but he's also illiterate, somewhat vulnerable, and very much missing his mother. At 14, Noodle still has a childlike yearning to be mothered - but she's weary beyond her years, resigned to the harsh realities of life, and steadily self-assured. That combination of her teaching him to read as he teaches her to hope is so interesting and so sweet. And then there's the more equitable interactions of them working together to achieve his dream and win their freedom. I love the magical realism of Wonka's chocolates - and the contrast between this calm and practical young girl, and this bonkers and whimsical adult man! Such a cosy and fantastical vibe.

I'd love something soft and fluffy here. Maybe a missing scene while Noodle is teaching Wonka to read - struggling to keep him concentrating, or delighting in his progress. Maybe they could sneak a moment to build a snowman, or have a snowball fight - there does seem to be a lot of snow around.
Or some post-canon fluff! Does Wonka visit Noodle and her mother, maybe bring her next batch of lifetime chocolate, or have tea with them in the library? Maybe Wonka takes Noodle on a tour of his new factory, showing her all its wonders. Maybe they just have some fun hangouts - a picnic in the park, saying hi to the zoo animals, visiting a dancehall? Or getting messy and baking something that isn't chocolate in Noodle's new kitchen.
Hurt/comfort would be great too. All that time in the cold, dingy staff quarters... Either one of them could have a melancholy moment and need cheering up. Especially if Noodle's just been released from another stint in the coop. Or Wonka worrying he'll never get the hang of reading. Maybe the chill seeps into their bones till their muscles are aching, and the other rubs their arms to warm them up. Could even involve huddling for warmth, whether shuffling close under the same blanket, or even politely and platonically sharing a bed. A soft and tender scene post-canon where Noodle reveals she's been having nightmares about nearly drowning in chocolate? Or some angst with Wonka feeling a little lonely now Noodle's found her family - but she reassures him they're friends for life.
Another adventure (or a snippet of one) would be really fun too. Maybe someone kidnaps them, hoping to blackmail Wonka's recipes from him. Maybe a chocolate mishap explodes a rainbow all over them and now they're magically handcuffed together - and need to seek out the special ingredients that can reverse it. Or Wonka's latest recipe accidentally works as truth serum, or contains cuddle pollen, or temporarily turns one of them into an animal? Maybe while wandering the city together, they stumble on a spooky abandoned house - but is it just dark and gloomy, or is it haunted for real? This canon's already full of wonder so you could have a lot of fun with tropes!

Henry Danger (TV)/The Thundermans (TV)

I love both of these characters and I thought the official crossover was so much fun - these two had a great vibe together. And Henry was canonically into Phoebe! Obviously sixteen-ish Phoebe wasn't interested in Henry when he was a tiny little fourteen-year-old... but are you really gonna tell me she wouldn't rethink that stance when she sees very grownup Henry and his chiselled jawline? Maybe something would spark if they met again in their twenties - or maybe even Henry's late teens, if they kept in contact after the crossover and developed a friendship, and Phoebe really got to know him.

Being superheroes is clearly common ground, but I think their personalities would blend really well too. Phoebe is an eager do-gooder, a born hero; Henry is earnest and caring, brave to the point of self-sacrifice. She's an academic overachiever with geeky tendencies - and he might not be so great in school, but he's got a sharp mind, and he's definitely dorky. They're both a little goofy, even if they might pretend otherwise, and I think they'd make each other laugh. And they both have younger siblings that annoy the shit out of them, but who they love anyway.

But maybe there'd be a little tension about their difference experiences of superhero life: Phoebe grew up in the warmth and shelter of her superhero family, mostly dealing with normal teen troubles with a layer of superpower shenanigans, given real training and becoming a hero when she was older; while Henry was out there fighting supervillains on the regular, exposed to that violence and trauma from the age of thirteen, lying to his family and missing so much school he couldn't graduate. I think they'd approach things from opposite perspectives and that could be fascinating. But maybe they could also use those foundations to help each other - with steady Phoebe soothing Henry's scars, or seasoned Henry calmly guiding Phoebe through a big threat.

A romance between them would be great, but I'd also be interested in a casual sex scenario. As she's a couple years older (and he was a late bloomer) I doubt Phoebe would show much interest in Henry before he's seventeen or so - but you can set it any time after that, in Swellview or Hiddenville, or Dystopia, or Newtown, or Secret Shores, or a new place altogether. Feel free to include any of Henry and/or Phoebe's friends and family, and you're welcome to create your own supervillain or use one from either canon.

Narrative Prompts

I love the idea that Henry and Phoebe exchange phone numbers after their adventure together, and strike up a friendship. Maybe texting about their superhero troubles (or how much Max and/or Piper are getting on their nerves today) slowly builds an understanding between them, leading to softer and genuine feelings. Maybe Phoebe doesn't notice her changing feelings, just thinking of Henry as a friend - till she hears that Kid Danger has been killed in the blimp crash and she panics, suddenly realising what he means to her. Maybe Henry visits Phoebe in Hiddenville before that and they hang out, with the more relaxed atmosphere helping them grow closer.
Or they only meet again when they have to team up to take down a supervillain. Maybe they work together so well it gets them thinking about partnering up in other ways. Maybe the danger and adrenaline leads them to sharing a kiss. Maybe Phoebe gets injured, and Henry's gentle concern sets her heart fluttering - or Henry gets injured, and his vulnerability stirs an unexpected kind of protective urge in Phoebe. Maybe the villain's plan even causes some tropey fun - like an accidental soulbond, or Henry and Phoebe getting magically handcuffed together, or having to go undercover as a couple.
Phoebe is a born supe and had years to master her powers, plus a whole family to get advice from; Henry didn't get his forcefield till he was eighteen, and his mentor's superpower is a passive one. Maybe Henry asks Phoebe to help him practise and perfect his skills. Or maybe he starts off just asking for some tips, but Phoebe being Phoebe can't resist a geeky project - and offers him some hands-on training, leading them to get up close and personal.
After a tiring adventure taking down a supervillain, established couple Henry and Phoebe go home and snuggle on the sofa together, maybe order a pizza and just get to relax. Or some domestic fluff on a calm day with no dangers - even if their superpowers cause a little chaos. Show me some sleepy cuddles in bed. Or a fun and bantery breakfast together. Or going on a date to a cool science exhibit - and it doesn't even get invaded by a supervillain.
Or maybe an established relationship with a side of hurt/comfort - sharing a bed doesn't stop Henry's nightmares about all the trauma he experienced as a teen sidekick, but it does mean Phoebe's there to gently calm him down. Or maybe, before they even get together, a villain traps them somewhere overnight - and when Henry finally dozes off, he accidentally wakes them both up with his cries.
Henry and Phoebe bump into each other at The Supies/Supe Awards. Maybe Phoebe doesn't recognise this handsome dark-haired guy and tries to get her flirt on, only to be flustered when he cheerfully reveals they've met before. Maybe she does know it's him, but Henry's awkward charm is more welcome now he's all grownup and looks like that. Maybe they kept in contact and built a friendship offscreen, and all the glitz and glamour leads to a fun evening full of giggles... or to a one night stand.
With all the demands of being Kid Danger, Henry didn't really have a chance to date in his late teens, so maybe he's still a virgin when he leaves Swellview. He wants his first time to be with someone he trusts, and when he meets up with his old friend Phoebe - who's now giving him approving glances - he decides to ask her to do the deed...
Now confident and competent superheroes in their early twenties, Henry and Phoebe team up to take on a supervillain. There's a new and mature frisson between them - and it's incredibly hard to stay professional when that supervillain's plan includes dousing Henry and Phoebe in sex pollen.
