General Likes:
  • Domesticity. Hopeful spring vibes. Cosy autumn or winter vibes. Rainy evenings in. Lazy sunny mornings. Cooking together, eating together. Playing board games. The daily routines of travelling together longterm.
  • Banter. Getting together. Established relationship. Found family. Characters showing affection in their own way. Groups amusing themselves with jokes and stories while spending every day together. Characters trusting in each other's skills. Competence kink.
  • Cheek touches. Hand on the back of the neck. Hugs and cuddling. Cheek kisses. Forehead kisses. (Platonic versions welcome!)
  • Holding hands. Kisses described in loving detail. Brushing fingers over lips. Size difference (if canon).
  • Angst with a happy ending. Hurt/comfort. Mutual pining. Repression and self-denial. Intense sense of duty or loyalty. Complicated family legacies. Self-esteem issues.
  • Dreams and nightmares. Shared dreams. Prophetic dreams, dreams of future soulmate. Nightmares of past trauma.
  • Truth spells. Telepathic bonds. Soulbonds, accidental or deliberate. Magical tattoos that show connections: soulmate marks, pistilverse, etc.
  • Kidfic, of the canon character being de-aged type. Kidfic, of the having and caring for children type. Pregnancy, including mpreg. Pregnancy fluff: anticipating child, preparing, taking care of pregnant partner. Pregnancy angst: worrying about being a good parent, worrying about the birth (esp for mpreg). Pregnancy hurt/comfort: morning sickness, pampering partner.
  • Forced proximity: stuck in a prison cell together, only one bed, trapped by a cave-in, hiding in a closet, handcuffed together, magic spell, etc.
  • Sparring and combat tutoring. Character A defending character B with character B's weapon.

Hurt/Comfort Likes:
  • Emotional hurt/comfort. Physical hurt/comfort. Whump.
  • Nightmares. Flashbacks. Crying. Staying with character B as they fall asleep.
  • Impact bruises. Being manually choked. Twisted ankles.
  • Stab wounds. Arrow wounds. Pulling the arrow out. Nosebleeds as fight injury. Grazes and abrasions.
  • Magical torture, psychic torture, and other kinds of pain inflicted without harming the body.
  • Bedside vigils. Holding injured character close. Carrying or supporting someone who can't walk. Character A catching character B as they collapse (even if character A isn't strong enough to hold them up and just helps slow their descent to the floor). Helping injured character undress, remove armour, etc.
  • Seasickness. Morning sickness. "Oh no, that thing you just ate was poisoned." Vomiting in the context of hurt/comfort - the loss of control, the pain of throwing up, the vulnerability of being seen that way - whether due to nausea, induced by emetic, or induced by fingers (theirs or partner's). Not interested in the vomit itself, though fine to mention it looks/smells/tastes gross.
  • Struggling through sex pollen/an omegaverse heat/etc without having sex, only giving non-sexual comfort for the symptoms.
  • The awkward vulnerability of comfort requiring a new level of intimacy.
  • Stern/gruff characters making tiny gestures as a comforter and the comfortee understanding that significance. A comforter understanding when the comfortee only wants tiny gestures, and the comfortee being grateful for that understanding. People who are comfortable with each other giving and accepting large amounts of comfort.
  • Stoic hurt characters refusing to break down. Stoic hurt characters letting it all out.
  • I love both the hurt and comfort parts of the equation! Go heavy on one part and less on the other, or have an equal mix of both.

Smut Likes:
  • Positions: Missionary, riding and other face-to-face positions, for eye contact and/or lots of kissing. But spooning pairs well with gentle sex, and oral fingering's probably more easily done from behind.
  • Locations: In bed, in a chair, against a wall, on the floor... In the bedroom, in the living room, in an alley, in a forest, in a dungeon, on a ship, on the victorious battlefield... Basically anywhere? Yeah.
  • Acts: Anal sex, including het anal. Vaginal sex. Loss of virginity. First time bottoming. Pegging. Strap-ons. Deepthroating. Oral fingering. Kissing during sex. Breastplay (fondling, gently squeezing, kissing). Nippleplay (pinching, kissing, licking).
  • Moods: Gentle sex. Tender sex. Fluffy sex. Hurt/comfort sex. Sex with lots of feelings. Vulnerability and trust.
  • BDSM: Dom/sub. Bondage. Pinned down. Kneeling. Collaring. Praise kink. Orgasm delay/edging. BDSM AUs.
  • Dubcon: Sex pollen. Fuck or die. Sex caused by magic or to perform magic. Pining during dubcon. (Whether they admit their feelings during, after, or not at all.) Having to trust each other with the unexpected intimacy. Worrying about being so vulnerable but being kind to each other and coming out stronger on the other side.
  • Size kink and stretching: Big cocks. Painful penetration. Lots of foreplay/prep, slow and gentle penetration so it isn't painful. Large object insertions. Sounding.
  • Omegaverse: Alpha/Omega. Painfully big alpha dicks. Knotting. Sexy pheromones. Pheromones that communicate fear, or anger, or other emotions. Alpha pheromones that make the omega feel safe, or protected, or calm.
  • An undercover situation requires them to fuck while being watched, but they successfully fake it - except the kisses, the touches, the proximity, and the "is it okay if I..." questions whispered right in each other's ears were all very real. And some of those moans didn't sound fake. Either they're so wound up they fuck for real once they're no longer being watched, or the feelings keep simmering until they boil over later.

Paul Atreides/Duncan Idaho

I was sold on these two from that very first hug. Their power dynamic is complicated and intriguing: Duncan is older, stronger, a more skilled warrior, and Paul's combat tutor - but Paul is the heir to House Atreides and capable of using the Voice. And there seems such genuine affection between them. I love how Duncan teases Paul, but also calls him "my boy"... And this exchange: "Can I trust you with something?" "Always. You know that." Omfg. I am all about the trust, loyalty and duty here - on both sides.

And Duncan really is so loyal, so devoted, willing to sacrifice everything for House Atreides. He's a deeply honourable man, dependable and trustworthy enough to be Paul's confidante - enough to be sent to the Fremen, where he develops so much respect for their way of life. With Paul, he's mostly playful, but he does have a serious side - in official meetings, and in that moment Paul prophesies his death. But maybe all of that honour and strong spirit leads him to repressing his feelings, determined to protect Paul from any pain he might accidentally inflict? Because he has twenty years of life experience on Paul, with all the scars that grants - physical and emotional.

I love how soft and sweet Paul can be - his teases with Duncan, openly hugging Thufir - but I also enjoy his harder, harsher aspects. He's determined, a survivor, even ruthless - he literally doesn't blink at that hunter-seeker, his whimpers at the painbox transmute to a steely defiance. And Paul takes his duties seriously, following Leto's example as a protective leader - but being the ducal heir also gives Paul an edge of pride, even petulance, so offended by the Reverend Mother dismissing Jessica, of forcing him to kneel. And he still has a little teenage moodiness, telling Gurney he doesn't feel like sparring. With Duncan, my main focus for Paul is him being playful and/or a serious student, and I'm happy for you to stick to that side of him - but I do love the nuance of his flaws if you want to include those.

The two of them have such a beautiful bond - but there are definite obstacles to a relationship between them. No doubt Paul is expected to make a political match, and Duncan hardly fits the image of a polished concubine. What kind of relationship do they, can they, hope to have? Maybe it starts as a mentorship-with-benefits thing, Duncan giving Paul a way to explore sex with someone he trusts - and then feelings develop. Or maybe they hide their feelings, mutually pining, convinced that the other one wouldn't (shouldn't) be interested in them. Maybe they think they can never be together - because of the age difference, or the power difference, or because Leto would never approve. And it'd be understandable if Leto was suspicious - but maybe Duncan could convince him that he'd never hurt or unduly influence Paul, or Paul could convince Leto that his feelings for Duncan are strong and genuine?

I'm mainly looking for something set just before canon, or maybe early in the first film, once Duncan returns from the Fremen - before everything goes to shit on Arrakis. DNW underage, but Paul's age is ambiguous, so I will happily assume he's over 18 at this point. But as he's still young, and there don't seem to be any people his own age around Castle Caladan, I can see Paul still being a virgin. And I'm fine with Paul having had a crush on Duncan before he turned 18, but please don't have Duncan thinking of Paul that way before he's an adult. Other than that, feel free to delve into the age difference as much as you want!

Prompts for Hurt Duncan
Angst

Pining:
Pining so bad he aches with it! Pining so bad he feels like he can't breathe! Maybe because of the age difference or the power dynamics, or maybe he's just convinced Paul would never be interested in him. (The attraction is secretly mutual, but Duncan doesn't know that.)

Hurt/Comfort

Injury:
Duncan gets injured, whether that's due to an accident during weapons training, another plot by the Harkonnens, or another mission for Leto. Nothing that's actually going to kill him, but blood and bruises and even cracked ribs are fine. And Paul comforts him.

Illness

Flu:
Duncan is so sick he can't even stand up. He's too exhausted, in too much pain, all he can do is sprawl in bed and groan. Maybe he even needs Paul to feed him, lifting a spoon to his mouth.

Magical Illness:
As above, but it's caused by some weird magitech thing. Maybe something sent by the Harkonnens? But Duncan is sick, and Paul looks after him while they find a cure.

Cuddle Pollen:
Duncan gets doused in cuddle pollen, and now he feels exhausted and achey - but being held slowly soothes the symptoms away, or at least reduces them. Paul insists on providing relief.

Hanahaki:
Pining, now in physical flower form! A confession will instantly cure him... but until then, coughing up petals and chest aches and slowly losing energy, worrying it might kill him. (Maybe hanahaki is rare, and they don't even realise what it means at first?)

Nausea:
Could be seasickness or similar, could be some magical thing, but Duncan spends hours feeling like he's a hair's breadth from throwing up. But Paul is there to rub his back and murmur reassurance.

Vomiting:
Or maybe he does throw up. Or needs to be made to throw up. (Ingested poison, maybe?) Maybe even throws up multiple times, till nothing's coming out, his stomach's cramping up, and every new round of retching feels like torture... But Paul is there to rub his back and murmur reassurance.

Whump

Injuryless Torture:
I didn't request Graphic Torture because I can't do the kinds that involve gore, but I love the kind where the torture is some kind of psychic/magical thing which causes extreme pain without leaving any trace on the body. And Dune canonically has that painbox, so the tech definitely exists in their world... Please whump poor Duncan hard!

Omegaverse Heat:
Okay, hear me out: omega Paul has a painful heat, and fucking would get rid of the pain, and they're both attracted to each other. But they don't fuck. Haven't confessed feelings yet? Alpha Duncan can't trust Paul's consent because he gave it after the heat started? Paul is a virgin and not ready to have sex? They're concerned that Paul's parents would forbid it? Whatever reason, Paul's just got to struggle on through it - with Duncan comforting him, holding him close, letting Paul inhale his scent... For hours. Also love the trope where omegas find a hand on the back of their neck instinctively really calming. (Similar to scruffing I guess?) And maybe Duncan uses that also?

Doric/Xenk Yendar

We don't really get any focused moments between these two in the film, but Doric actually seems like the least hostile to Xenk from the beginning - ironic considering her stance on humans started as "hateful and selfish" and "just can't help but lie"... but then Xenk and his ridiculous paladin goodness are so obviously the opposite of that! If Xenk joined the party for further adventures, I like to imagine they'd become good friends, and then fall in love (maybe after mutually pining).

I love Doric's combination of a sharp tongue with her moral integrity and intense environmental concern, and how that contrasts and blends with Xenk's stern intensity, his awkward ways, and his own intense sense of justice and goodness. They're both visibly outsiders in ways the others aren't, so maybe they would have a natural understanding - or they'd bond over the angst of losing their families because of it. And between their outsider status and Xenk's sense of duty, I tend to imagine they're both virgins.

(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)

Prompts for Hurt Doric
Angst

Family Abandonment:
Just because Doric's open about being abandoned by her parents, doesn't mean she's not still wounded by it. She may have found a family/community among the wood elves, but that kind of rejection would be hugely traumatic - especially considering the general hatred of tieflings that she must run into all the time. (Feel free to incorporate anti-tiefling prejudice into this idea!)

Pining:
Pining so bad she aches with it! Pining so bad she feels like she can't breathe! Maybe Doric's convinced herself that Xenk doesn't experience attraction, or that his vows mean he can never be with anyone, and therefore her feelings are hopeless. (The attraction is secretly mutual, but Doric doesn't know that.)

Hurt/Comfort

Injury:
Doric gets injured during an adventure. Nothing that's actually going to kill her, but blood and bruises and even cracked ribs are fine. Maybe Xenk can heal her up with magic, but maybe he's run out of spells or been cuffed (imprisoned?), and can only comfort her. Maybe has to help her get to safety, helping her walk - or picking her up and carrying her?

Stabbing Injury:
A specific type of injury I'd love to see! Doric gets stabbed in the gut.

Arrow Wound:
Another specific scenario I love! Doric gets shot with an arrow, in the stomach or the chest, and Xenk has to gently ease the arrow out before healing her with magic.

Omegaverse Heat:
Okay, hear me out: omega Doric has a painful heat, and fucking would get rid of the pain, and they're both attracted to each other. But they don't fuck. Haven't confessed feelings yet? Magical Illness:
As above, but it's caused by magic. Maybe by a curse or an artifact the party found in a dungeon? But Doric is sick, and Xenk gently looks after her while they find a cure.

Cuddle Pollen:
Doric gets doused in cuddle pollen, and now she feels exhausted and achey - but being held slowly soothes the symptoms away, or at least reduces them. Xenk nobly provides relief.

Vomiting:
Or maybe she does throw up. Or needs to be made to throw up. (Ingested poison, maybe?) Maybe even throws up multiple times, till nothing's coming out, her stomach's cramping up, and every new round of retching feels like torture... But Xenk is there to rub her back and stroke her hair.

Prompts for Hurt Xenk
Angst

Beckoning Death:
Anything about the Beckoning Death! Being haunted by losing his family, losing his entire country, needing to live as an exile. Worrying that one day the curse will take control of him, and he'll become Szass Tam's puppet. Seeing himself as less than a person, worrying that the curse has taken part of his soul, and the only way to earn his own existence is being by the most paladin to ever paladin. (Not true, of course, but he might have convinced himself it is.) Could also tie into anti-Thayan prejudice, and how being visibly marked as partially undead means he can never escape it - and maybe always wanting to convince people there are good Thayans, but also feeling like his undead status means they're kind of right to fear him?

Paladin Duty:
Maybe Xenk has convinced himself that his paladin duty means he can never be with anyone, and it takes a lot of angsting before he realises he can. (Or Doric convinces him, or another paladin does.) Could also be combined with feeling like he needs to be perfect, but simultaneously struggling with the way people place him on a pedestal - feeling like they see an ideal, not the man he really is, and knowing that image is going to shatter when he starts being awkward at them.

Pining:
Pining so bad he aches with it! Pining so bad he feels like he can't breathe! Maybe because of his duty or his curse, but maybe he's just convinced Doric would never be interested in him. (The attraction is secretly mutual, but Xenk doesn't know that.)

Emotional Hurt/Comfort

Nightmares:
No gory imagery please, but very psychologically distressing for Xenk! Maybe a trauma flashback to the Beckoning Death, or something he's seen as a paladin, or a dream about the Red Wizards capturing him, or about his curse taking control of him. I just want Xenk to wake up devastated and need Doric to comfort him. Could be an Only One Bed scenario, Doric on watch while they're camping, or bedsharing in an established relationship.

Trauma:
Between losing his home and his family, and spending a hundred years as a paladin, Xenk must have a lot of trauma weighing on his shoulders. Or their current adventure could even give him some fresh trauma to cope with. Maybe he has actual PTSD symptoms, maybe nightmares, maybe he's just temporarily but intensely unsettled by something - and Doric helps him through it.

Hurt/Comfort

Injury:
Xenk gets injured during an adventure. Nothing that's actually going to kill him, but blood and bruises and even cracked ribs are fine. Maybe he's run out of spells or been cuffed (imprisoned?), and needs Doric to comfort him. Maybe Doric has to help Xenk get to safety, helping him walk - or turning into an owlbear and carrying him?

Arrow Wound:
A specific scenario I love! Xenk gets shot with an arrow, in the stomach or the chest, and Doric has to gently ease the arrow out before healing him with magic. (Xenk would normally be wearing his armour, so maybe they get ambushed while camping, or a ruckus suddenly blows up in town, or an undercover mission goes wrong.)

Omegaverse Heat:
Okay, hear me out: omega Xenk has a painful heat, and fucking would get rid of the pain, and they're both attracted to each other. But they don't fuck. Haven't confessed feelings yet? Alpha Doric can't trust Xenk's consent because he gave it after the heat started? One or both of them are virgins and not ready to have sex? Whatever reason, Xenk's just got to struggle on through it - with Doric comforting him, holding him close, letting Xenk inhale her scent... For hours. Cuddle Pollen:
Xenk gets doused in cuddle pollen, and now he feels exhausted and achey - but being held slowly soothes the symptoms away, or at least reduces them. Doric calmly provides relief.

Hanahaki:
Pining, now in physical flower form! A confession will instantly cure him... but until then, coughing up petals and chest aches and slowly losing energy, worrying it might kill him. (Maybe hanahaki is rare, and they don't even realise what it means at first?)

Nausea:
Could be seasickness or similar, could be some magical thing, but Xenk spends hours feeling like he's a hair's breadth from throwing up. But Doric is there to rub his back and murmur reassurance.

Whump

Beaten Up:
Bad guys get their hands on Xenk and beat him up. Bruises galore, maybe even cracked ribs, absolute agony all over... Eventually his magic will recharge and he can heal himself. Until then - Pain. So much pain.

Injuryless Torture:
I didn't request Graphic Torture because I can't do the kinds that involve gore, but I love the kind where the torture is some kind of psychic/magical thing which causes extreme pain without leaving any trace on the body. Turn that thing up to the max and make Xenk scream!

Edgin Darvis/Doric

While trying to recruit her, Edgin was definitely using all his charm (although not in a sexual way) but Doric seemed utterly immune to it. I loved the tender moment when Edgin was sitting on the rock on the beach: his little smile as she walked over, the way she gently patted his shoulder and he patted hers in return, and she smiled back. Maybe his charm would be more welcome now they have a genuine connection, or maybe she'd be the one to instigate it.

I love that Doric is so committed to doing good and looking after nature, but that she doesn't let the rules stand in her way. And she has a very sharp tongue, in contrast to Edgin's silver one. Edgin thinks of himself as a thief and a lawbreaker, and is maybe trying to pretend he doesn't enjoy doing good as much as he actually does. He uses humour and a charming mask to hide his pain, but Doric absolutely doesn't fall for it - even if she'll be soft when he finally lets himself be vulnerable. But is she prepared to be vulnerable in return?

(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)

Edgin Darvis/Xenk Yendar

These two have such a great dynamic. I love their banter and how they spark with each other - Xenk and his literal mind bouncing off Edgin's usual wordplay, still prompting smiles in each other, even as they clash over Edgin's thievery and Xenk's paladin ways. That contrast somehow settles to a comfortable blend, with Edgin reluctant for Xenk to leave. And I love how touchyfeely they are - Edgin in general, and Xenk with all his (offers of) handholding... Pressing his hand to Edgin's on the Harper's seal, pulling him up after saving him, their earnest handshake as they prepare to part. So much touching! And so much banter! But they also challenge each other to grow, and I'd love to see how their relationship develops after the film, with a softer friendship blossoming into romance.

Despite his 20 minutes of screentime, Edgin's narrative arc is so bound up with Xenk. Edgin's been projecting this image of a cheerful, charming leader for so long, hiding his deep trauma over Zia with quips and songs. He's focused all of his pain into hating the Red Wizards, blaming Thayans for his loss - maybe because it's easier than blaming himself. But then he meets Xenk, a Thayan so noble and innocent that it shatters Edgin's foundation. And Edgin can't even console himself with the idea that anyone in his position would've been tempted by that gold - because again, Xenk is so pure and moral, and proves that people can be better. Even makes Edgin promise to be more than a common thief, reigniting his old Harper heroism. Xenk is the pivot point of Edgin's growth and healing.

Xenk's own angst is mostly implied, a subtext to the fascinating details we get. He's a paladin, a holy warrior, so strict in protecting others - but he's also a Thayan, a hated outsider, visibly marked by necromantic magic. I love the tension in him being both blessed and cursed. Does Xenk feel the need to be the perfect paladin to balance out the terrible opinions people have about Thayans? Once people have accepted his cursed nature, do they tend to place him on a pedestal, glorifying him as a legendary paladin instead? He glides away from the crowd's praise after saving that catbaby; his retort to Edgin's anti-Thayan sentiment is not to defend himself, but to speak of other Thayans, innocents turned into monsters. Does he think of himself as a monster? But Xenk is so kind and caring, risking himself to save Edgin - and so stern and serious, rigidly sticking to his moral framework. Does he feel bound by his duty, by his paladin vows - even to the point of repressing his own wants, needs and hopes? Does he feel he has to earn his own humanity, by so harshly rejecting his own partially undead nature, by being such a paragon of virtue? Does Xenk feel like he can't be less than perfect? Maybe his insistence that Edgin can be a better man is a reflection of Xenk's need to believe in his own goodness.

With all of those worries swirling around, these two could slip so deep into mutual pining. Maybe Xenk thinks he can't be with anyone because of his duty as a paladin, or because the Beckoning Death has left him cursed, partially undead, lacking part of his soul, etc. Maybe Edgin finds out Xenk is a virgin and assumes the guy isn't interested in sex at all. (I do headcanon Xenk as a virgin.) Or Edgin thinks Xenk's too noble and pure to want a criminal like him, or thinks Xenk wants someone more serious or more intellectual. Xenk thinking Edgin's too charming and sociable to want someone as awkward and unbending as him... I love the angsty possibilities of all this, the two of them keeping their feelings secret even as they're practically bursting with longing. And when combined with their touchyfeely natures - they must be torturing each other!

Established relationship and getting together both welcome. Edgin's lingering angst over Zia is fine. If there's smut, happy for it to be vanilla or kinky, fully consensual or dubcon (sex pollen, fuck-or-die, bad guys made them do it, omegaverse heat, etc) I'm open to both autistic Xenk and/or ADHD Edgin, or neurotypical depictions. I mainly see Xenk as being sworn to justice, as a general concept, rather than a specific god - but feel free to pick one, if it suits the themes of your work. (Like, Ilmater is a great choice if Xenk is suffering, whether in whump or in sexy painplay.) And feel free to include any or all of the party!

Angst

Zia Guilt:
Edgin may have given up the chance to resurrect Zia, but that doesn't mean he's dealt with his guilt over her death. It's steered every aspect of his life for so long - just because he's decided to move on, doesn't make it easy to leave all that pain behind. Especially as choosing, or wanting, to be with Xenk could add a whole new kind of guilt to his angst over Zia! (Fatherly guilt over failing Kira could be part of this too.)

Pining:
Pining so bad he aches with it! Pining so bad he feels like he can't breathe! Maybe Edgin's convinced himself that Xenk doesn't experience attraction, or that his vows mean he can never be with anyone, and therefore his feelings are hopeless. (The attraction is secretly mutual, but Edgin doesn't know that.)

Hurt/Comfort

Injury:
Edgin gets injured during an adventure. Nothing that's actually going to kill him, but blood and bruises and even cracked ribs are fine. Maybe Xenk can heal him up with magic, but maybe he's run out of spells or been cuffed (imprisoned?), and can only comfort Edgin. Maybe Xenk has to help Edgin get to safety, helping him walk - or picking him up and carrying him?

Stabbing Injury:
A specific type of injury I'd love to see! Edgin gets stabbed in the gut.

Arrow Wound:
Another specific scenario I love! Edgin gets shot with an arrow, in the stomach or the chest, and Xenk has to gently ease the arrow out before healing him with magic.

Omegaverse Heat:
Okay, hear me out: omega Edgin has a painful heat, and fucking would get rid of the pain, and they're both attracted to each other. But they don't fuck. Haven't confessed feelings yet? Alpha Xenk can't trust Edgin's consent because he gave it after the heat started? Xenk is a virgin and not ready to have sex? Whatever reason, Edgin's just got to struggle on through it - with Xenk comforting him, holding him close, letting Edgin inhale his scent... For hours. Also love the trope where omegas find a hand on the back of their neck instinctively really calming. (Similar to scruffing I guess?) And maybe Xenk uses that also?

Illness

Flu:
Edgin's so sick he can't even stand up. He's too exhausted, in too much pain, all he can do is sprawl in bed and groan. Maybe he even needs Xenk to feed him, lifting a spoon to his mouth.

Magical Illness:
As above, but it's caused by magic. Maybe by a curse or an artifact the party found in a dungeon? But Edgin is sick, and Xenk gently looks after him while they find a cure.

Cuddle Pollen:
Edgin gets doused in cuddle pollen, and now he feels exhausted and achey - but being held slowly soothes the symptoms away, or at least reduces them. Xenk nobly provides relief.

Hanahaki:
Pining, now in physical flower form! A confession will instantly cure him... but until then, coughing up petals and chest aches and slowly losing energy, worrying it might kill him. (Maybe hanahaki is rare, and they don't even realise what it means at first?)

Nausea:
Could be seasickness or similar, could be some magical thing, but Edgin spends hours feeling like he's a hair's breadth from throwing up. But Xenk is there to rub his back and stroke his hair.

Vomiting:
Or maybe he does throw up. Or needs to be made to throw up. (Ingested poison, maybe?) Maybe even throws up multiple times, till nothing's coming out, his stomach's cramping up, and every new round of retching feels like torture... But Xenk is there to rub his back and stroke his hair.

(Or Edgin convinces him, or another paladin does.) Could also be combined with feeling like he needs to be perfect, but simultaneously struggling with the way people place him on a pedestal - feeling like they see an ideal, not the man he really is, and knowing that image is going to shatter when he starts being awkward at them.

Pining:
Pining so bad he aches with it! Pining so bad he feels like he can't breathe! Maybe because of his duty or his curse, but maybe he's just convinced Edgin would never be interested in him.

I just want Xenk to wake up devastated and need Edgin to comfort him. Could be an Only One Bed scenario, Edgin on watch while they're camping, or bedsharing in an established relationship.

Trauma:
Between losing his home and his family, and spending a hundred years as a paladin, Xenk must have a lot of trauma weighing on his shoulders. Or their current adventure could even give him some fresh trauma to cope with. Maybe he has actual PTSD symptoms, maybe nightmares, maybe he's just temporarily but intensely unsettled by something - and Edgin helps him through it.

Whump

Edgin Darvis/Zia Darvis/Xenk Yendar

I really like the idea of Edgin getting to be happy with Zia but also with Xenk, and Zia and Xenk being happy together too. So... AU where she never dies? Maybe Edgin stays a Harper and ends up working with Xenk, and they get closer, resulting in Xenk being drawn into the established marriage? Or Edgin and Zia successfully flee the Red Wizards with baby Kira, and when they seek help Xenk is the one who swears to protect them?

Edgin seemed a lot softer before Zia's death - and maybe less prone to hiding his feelings - and Zia seemed very sweet and understanding, and I'd love to see what kind of dynamic they develop with kind but serious Xenk. Would love to see them being domestic in the cottage at Targos, all helping to raise Kira, or - as Edgin and Holga managed to take young Kira on the road - maybe all three of them could have glorious adventures together, making the world a better place?

Simon Aumar/Doric

I love how soft Simon gets around Doric and I'd love to see her showing a softer side to him in return. (I do love Doric's spikiness though.) And I love that over the course of the film, she was very interested every time Simon's competency was shown or discussed - she was always into him, she just had this one dealbreaker, and then he fixed it! (Well, maybe he didn't entirely fix it: I love Simon having more confidence, but it might be nice to see him struggle a little - with Doric encouraging him, now she's convinced of his capability.) Does Doric have a competency kink?

Both of them have angsty pasts: Doric as a tiefling rejected by her parents, who's visibly an outsider wherever she goes; Simon as a sorcerer trying to live up to his family's long legacy of wizardry. Plus, as a half-elf, wherever he was raised, he was probably too human for the elves and too elven for the humans. As they get to know each other better, it'd be great to see them open up to each other about these things.

Maybe their courting is awkward at first, possibly hampered by Simon's tendency to break things or fall over, but I absolutely believe they're a good match and would love to see a happy relationship grow between them.

I tend to imagine Simon is a virgin, due to all his awkwardness at romance, and considering how disliked tieflings are Doric might be one too. But maybe she has some experience, and confidently reassures a nervous Simon.

Prompts for Hurt Doric

Family Abandonment:
Just because Doric's open about being abandoned by her parents, doesn't mean she's not still wounded by it. She may have found a family/community among the wood elves, but that kind of rejection would be hugely traumatic - especially considering the general hatred of tieflings that she must run into all the time. (Feel free to incorporate anti-tiefling prejudice into this idea!)

Hurt/Comfort

Aumar Legacy:
Simon's angst over being a rubbish sorcerer seems partly tied to being descended from one of the most powerful, most famous wizards ever. I like the idea that he's also the only sorcerer in an entire family of wizards: surrounded by people who have a different kind of magic, who are good at it, and who don't understand why he can't just do what they do. And growing up like that has given him a complex that's hard to shift. Especially when he runs into one of them, or people start asking about his surname.

Self-Esteem Issues:
More general self-esteem angst than the above. Simon's doing better than he was, and that's why Doric said he could court her again - but maybe that conditional agreement means he now feels like he can't bring his worries up to her at all? Even if they're legitimate? (I think she'd be softer with him than he expects... but he'd have to crack first.)

Simon Aumar/Edgin Darvis

I love how Edgin is absolutely convinced of Simon's potential badassery (he has a mental list of all the times Simon's magic worked!) and how he's determined to make Simon believe it too - and this, for some reason, involves touching Simon's face a lot. Simon is awkward and sulky in the face of this, even though he's perfectly willing to trust Edgin and follow his lead in other areas - maybe Simon is pining, and can't let himself believe that Edgin cares about him, or is worried about opening his heart? Depending on the situation, maybe Edgin feels too weird about the age difference, and doesn't want to take advantage of Simon... until something pushes them together.

Could be post-canon, or a missing scene any time from Simon first joining Edgin's crew of thieves up to Korinn's Keep. I tend to assume Simon is a virgin, considering how awkward he is.

(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)

Simon Aumar/Xenk Yendar

In the film, Simon mostly seems to get on Xenk's nerves (being sarcastic! destroying the bridge!) but he's not doing it on purpose and I really think if they spent more time together they could become good friends - and then fall in love. Despite his initial jealousy, Simon is eager for Xenk to stay at the end. Under his sarcasm, his awkwardness, and his occasional sulkiness, Simon is rather sweet and kinda adorable. And once you see past his stern manner and paladin morals, Xenk is kind and actually sorta awkward too.

I like the idea that they're both a bit dorky, deeply interested in niche subjects, in a way none of the others understand. But I think they could find some common ground. But maybe Simon worries that Xenk doesn't like him, or doesn't respect him? And Xenk isn't great at social interaction, so he might not realise Simon feels that way, or might not know how to explain that he actually does care. I can see them both as virgins (due to Simon's awkwardness and Xenk's duty/angst) and maybe worries about intimacy would result in mutual pining - or an intense experience during some dubcon, with Xenk gently trying to look after nervous Simon, even as Xenk himself is a bit overwhelmed.

(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)

Could also tie into anti-Thayan prejudice, and how being visibly marked as partially undead means he can never escape it - and maybe always wanting to convince people there are good Thayans, but also feeling like his undead status means they're kind of right to fear him?

Paladin Duty:
Maybe Xenk has convinced himself that his paladin duty means he can never be with anyone, and it takes a lot of angsting before he realises he can. (Or Simon convinces him, or another paladin does.) Could also be combined with feeling like he needs to be perfect, but simultaneously struggling with the way people place him on a pedestal - feeling like they see an ideal, not the man he really is, and knowing that image is going to shatter when he starts being awkward at them.

Pining:
Pining so bad he aches with it! Pining so bad he feels like he can't breathe! Maybe because of his duty or his curse, but maybe he's just convinced Simon would never be interested in him.

I just want Xenk to wake up devastated and need Simon to comfort him. Could be an Only One Bed scenario, Simon on watch while they're camping, or bedsharing in an established relationship.

Trauma:
Between losing his home and his family, and spending a hundred years as a paladin, Xenk must have a lot of trauma weighing on his shoulders. Or their current adventure could even give him some fresh trauma to cope with. Maybe he has actual PTSD symptoms, maybe nightmares, maybe he's just temporarily but intensely unsettled by something - and Simon helps him through it.

Hurt/Comfort

Injury:
Xenk gets injured during an adventure. Nothing that's actually going to kill him, but blood and bruises and even cracked ribs are fine. Maybe he's run out of spells or been cuffed (imprisoned?), and needs Simon to comfort him. Maybe Simon has to help Xenk get to safety, helping him walk?

Omegaverse Heat:
Okay, hear me out: omega Xenk has a painful heat, and fucking would get rid of the pain, and they're both attracted to each other. But they don't fuck. Haven't confessed feelings yet? Alpha Simon can't trust Xenk's consent because he gave it after the heat started? One or both of them are virgins and not ready to have sex? Whatever reason, Xenk's just got to struggle on through it - with Simon comforting him, holding him close, letting Xenk inhale his scent... For hours. Also love the trope where omegas find a hand on the back of their neck instinctively really calming. (Similar to scruffing I guess?) And maybe Simon uses that also?

Illness

Flu:
Xenk is so sick he can't even stand up. He's too exhausted, in too much pain, all he can do is sprawl in bed and groan. Maybe he even needs Simon to feed him, lifting a spoon to his mouth.

Magical Illness:
As above, but it's caused by magic. Maybe by a curse (or his curse) or an artifact the party found in a dungeon? But Xenk is sick, and Simon looks after him while they find a cure.

Cuddle Pollen:
Xenk gets doused in cuddle pollen, and now he feels exhausted and achey - but being held slowly soothes the symptoms away, or at least reduces them. Simon nervously provides relief.

But Simon is there to rub his back and awkwardly murmur reassurance.

Vomiting:
Or maybe he does throw up. Or needs to be made to throw up. (Ingested poison, maybe?) Maybe even throws up multiple times, till nothing's coming out, his stomach's cramping up, and every new round of retching feels like torture... But Simon is there to rub his back and awkwardly murmur reassurance.

Whump

Henry Hart & Piper Hart

Across the seasons and as they grow, these two go through so many stages, and I'm fascinated by all of them. Initially, Piper is the screechy, volatile foil to goofy, earnest Henry - the tattletale that threatens his exciting new job, but also the anchor of his protective urges. As Henry settles into being a sidekick, he grows in confidence - more openly fond of her, more prone to flashes of mischief, even as he becomes more secretive and scarred; while Piper learns to control her outbursts, becoming more emotionally steady, settling into scathing wit and calmer demands - that playful annoyance blending to a fresh balance between them. Then as the stress and trauma really starts to weigh on Henry, his personal life suffering under the burdens of his superhero duties, Piper blooms to a new maturity - confident and polished as a popular influencer, rising as he struggles. And finally, when Piper becomes Henry's confidante at last, her forceful personality and frustrating persistence make her a practical and reliable ally - just as her brother faces his biggest tests. I have so many feelings about it all. Their sibling relationship feels so real to me - sometimes fighting, often bickering, usually weary of each other, but always backed by an unshakeable foundation of affection.

Henry's care for Piper is especially obvious and I find that adorable. For a cheeky teenage boy, he tells Piper he loves her surprisingly often - and surprisingly sincerely. Whenever Piper is threatened, Henry is immediately horrified and desperate to save her; he's a superhero sidekick who saves people every day, but Piper is the one he's most consistently (and most intensely) protective of. No matter how much she gets on his nerves, when Piper really needs him Henry will leap to her defence. And when she's sad, Henry is soft and tenderly reassuring, even when he still fears her temper - his gentle talk with her at the start of JAM Session is so cute. Despite their friction, Piper really brings out his sweet side. Carefully supporting her in Spoiler Alert! Coaching her basketball team! Guiding her when she's sleepwalking in Holey Moley! Breaking down in Danger Games after zapping her! I just love how much he loves her, even when she makes it hard, even when his life is hard.

Obviously their parents and the wider Hart family dynamic influences their sibling relationship. The plot demands that Kris and Jake be oblivious, because otherwise Henry couldn't hide his secret life, and that neglect is played for comedy - but that undercurrent has real impact on their children's personalities. Kris and Jake are inconsistent with both affection and discipline - sometimes draconian, sometimes passive, sometimes loving, sometimes distant. Not only do they take days to notice one of their kids has vanished, but they're often absent themselves, physically or emotionally - Kris is often away, clearly cheating on Jake. Sometimes they force their kids to act like the parents. And sometimes they rise above the sitcom jokery to undeniably horrible treatment: in Charlotte Gets Ghosted, we're told they shut Henry and Piper in one bedroom, gave them food then confiscated that food, leaving them locked in together overnight, just to throw a party. The show might dance around it, Kris and Jake may frequently be amusing, but they are not good parents. Is it any wonder that Piper is so unruly, so desperate for attention, so judgemental of Henry when she grew up in that atmosphere?

Piper is such an abrasive character but I genuinely love her, even when she's being a brat. She is just always so completely herself. But under that bravado, there's a heart-tugging vulnerability - she's aching for affection, for validation, so concerned with chasing superficial status and ephemeral fame that she rebuffs her brother's earnest tenderness. I have so many feelings about that scene where Henry shows Piper his Fred Lobster shirt, so eager to display his pride in her, but she can't see the gesture as anything but deeply uncool - yet still gleefully clasps his hand when her commercial comes on. There's such a great tension in Piper worshipping the cool hero Kid Danger while dismissing Henry as a tragic dork - and it's only when she learns his secret that she can really understand and appreciate the whole person her brother is. And I love the bond they develop after that - it's so good to see them just hanging out and drinking soda together in Remember the Crimes. But even before that, while Henry is mostly the one showing affection, Piper does have her moments - like offering to invite her friends so he can throw a cooler party. And whenever he comforts her and she opens up to him, that shows how deeply she trusts him. Who else in her life has earned that? And she might not know it, but he's also the person she'll eagerly go to bat for - jumping into the firing line to help Kid Danger in Spoiler Alert, Stuck in Two Holes, Diamonds are for Heather, The Great Cactus Con... and even moreso once she joins the team. Their relationship is tender, messy, supportive, challenging, ever changing, always strong - I love all of those aspects separately, and in combination, at every stage we see across the years.

This show often has its characters behave callously for comedic effect - being dismissive, ignoring hurts - and I'm fine with a little of that. But ultimately I want to feel that they care about each other, even if Piper is being bratty - or Henry is frustrated with her. Likewise I'm fine with comedic portrayals of their parents, ignoring the dark subtext there, but you're also welcome to depict Kris and Jake as neglectful and/or emotionally abusive. (Up to the level of Charlotte Gets Ghosted, or thereabouts; I'd prefer it not be unrelentingly dark though, as I think it's important that Kris and Jake can be affectionate at other times, even if the better periods are only implied.) But I DNW any mention of young Piper's crush on Kid Danger, even as a joke; please pretend that never happened. Platonic affection is great though - from casual "love you!"s, to meaningful ones, to holding hands, cheek kisses or forehead kisses, hugs or cuddling - there's some of that in canon, but you're welcome to push it further. You can go harder on the hurt than Nickelodeon could, but please no gore. I just want more of Henry and Piper being siblings.

Prompts for Hurt Henry
Emotional Hurt/Comfort

Neglectful Parents:
Putting this under hurt/comfort because I'd really like to see these two actually talk about this, maybe even help each other heal a little. They definitely need to deal with it, because their parents' neglect has affected them both so much: Piper is hungry for fame and attention, Henry is deeply self-sacrificing - and shares a little of her famehunger, actually. Maybe they could never fully get past it, maybe Piper doesn't even really see that it's a problem (yet), but it's an extra burden with everything else Henry has gone through - and I'd love them to find a way to soothe some of that pain, together.

Superhero Trauma:
Henry is basically an emergency responder, constantly exposed to violent criminals, endangered innocents, and personal physical threat. And for most of that he's a child! Maybe he has actual PTSD symptoms, maybe nightmares, maybe he's just temporarily but intensely unsettled by an episode. Piper might initially struggle to understand that being a superhero isn't all fun and games, but she can see how much he's struggling - and helps Henry through it.

Nightmares:
No gory imagery please, but very psychologically distressing for Henry! Maybe a trauma flashback to something his parents did, or things he's been exposed to as a superhero, or a dream about something happening to Piper. Maybe it happens at home and Piper comes to check on him, maybe Henry just dozes off in the Man Cave. I just want Henry to wake up devastated and need Piper to comfort him.

Hurt/Comfort

Injury:
There's a reason he's called Kid Danger: Henry's constantly being thrown into the thick of it. He rarely suffers extreme injuries, but there must've been so many days that he ended up with huge bruises, maybe some cuts and scrapes, even a twisted ankle. Piper is rarely soft with him, but they do have some tender moments after she joins the team. I'd love to see her taking care of Henry, possibly while still teasing him as a distraction tactic, whether she's looking after him at home, or in the Man Cave while everyone else tries to solve the crisis.

Illness

Flu:
Henry is so sick he can't even stand up. He's too exhausted, in too much pain, all he can do is sprawl in bed and groan. Maybe he even needs Piper to feed him, lifting a spoon to his mouth.

Magical Illness:
As above, but caused by a villain's gadget or the shenanigans of the week. Could be some kind of pain pollen, wracking him with intense aches? But Henry is sick, and Piper looks after him while they find a cure.

Cuddle Pollen:
Henry gets doused in cuddle pollen, and now he feels exhausted and achey - but being held slowly soothes the symptoms away, or at least reduces them. Piper might feign reluctance, but she's not going to leave her brother to suffer.

Nausea:
Could be seasickness or similar, could be some magical thing, but Henry spends hours feeling like he's a hair's breadth from throwing up. But Piper is there to rub his back and murmur reassurance.

Vomiting:
Or maybe he does throw up. Or needs to be made to throw up. (Ingested poison, maybe?) Maybe even throws up multiple times, till nothing's coming out, his stomach's cramping up, and every new round of retching feels like torture... But Piper is there to rub his back and murmur reassurance.

Henry Hart/Ray Manchester

Whatever's going on here, these two are clearly more than hero and sidekick. They can't keep their hands off each other - touching shoulders, clutching wrists, hugging - and they're both blase about Henry climbing across Ray's body. They're completely on each other's wavelength, always quipping and egging each other on. They're a team, they're in their own world, separate from everyone else and special to each other. They literally say "I love you"! The shippy vibes start ridic and just continually escalate, it's unhinged. So many times I've paused to go "wait, did they really" - and yes, they really. None of this was an accident. By the Danger Force era, it might be played for laughs, but it's clearly not a joke. Henry and Ray is framed as a romance and we're meant to see it.

The first episode says Henry is completely average, but he's clearly so much more. He's charming, though often goofy. He's not a genius, but he's adaptable and quick on his feet. He's sweet and caring, though sometimes smug. And he's brave, even self-sacrificing, giving up his childhood to be Kid Danger - willing to give his life for Ray. Plus, like, you've seen grown up Henry, right? Holy shit, no wonder Ray drools all over himself.

Ray is weirdly likeable, though he's immature, arrogant, volatile and selfish - often oblivious or thoughtless, but rarely malicious. I'd prefer a "jerk with a heart of gold" interpretation; I don't want him taking advantage of Henry on purpose. When crunchtime comes, he will put others first - before Henry threw him off that blimp, Ray was insistent he'd be the martyr. And under that manchild veneer, I think there's complexity lurking. After being densitised at eight years old, Ray's father isolated him for superhero training. Does that mean he has difficulty relating to anyone outside of a hero-rescuee structure? Does being so removed mean he struggles with empathy? Maybe it explains why he's so afraid of ageing - he doesn't want to admit that the childhood he never had is over - and why his scale of what's appropriate for a teenage sidekick is so, well, inappropriate.

This show often has its characters behave callously for comedic effect - being dismissive, ignoring hurts - and I'm fine with a little of that. But ultimately I want to feel that they care about each other, so please have them be kind if the problem is serious. (This applies to Charlotte, Jasper, Schwoz and Piper too - and you're welcome to include any of them. Though it's fine to depict Henry's parents as neglectful and/or emotionally abusive. Please don't include Piper's crush on Kid Danger though.) My favourite villains are Drex, Dr Minyak, Jeff, and Kyle, but feel free to invent your own villain instead, if relevant. And you're welcome to have them menacing Henry - I love how much he gets held up by his throat - or to use the implication that Drex/Ray had a thing.

I don't want Henry and Ray getting together before Henry is 17 (though it's fine if Henry has feelings before that) and I don't want them having sex before Henry is 18 (though kissing is welcome). Ray reflexively calling Henry "kid" is fine, even during sex, as long as it's clear Henry is an adult - though if it is during sex, I'd expect Henry to disapprove. (I'm not looking for ageplay or agekink here.) But I'm fine with acknowledging there are unhealthy aspects to their relationship, and the age difference, though I don't want it to be damaging - I want to believe they can build something positive. And if that's unrealistic, well, it's a show about superheroes. Getting together and established relationship both welcome. And feel free to set it during the original show, or in the Danger Force era, or even post-movie.

Angst

Pining:
Pining so bad he aches with it! Pining so bad he feels like he can't breathe! Maybe he thinks Ray will never see him as an attractive adult, maybe he fears the age difference makes the relationship forbidden, maybe he's just convinced Ray doesn't have feelings for him. (The attraction is secretly mutual, but Henry doesn't know that.)

Emotional Hurt/Comfort

Neglectful Parents:
Putting this under hurt/comfort because I'd really like to see Henry actually talk about this, maybe even heal a little. He definitely needs to deal with it, because his parents' neglect is surely the source of Henry's self-sacrificing urges. Maybe he could never fully get past it, or at least it'd be a slow process, but it's an extra burden with everything else Henry has gone through - and I'd love to see some of the poor guy's pain be soothed. And for all Ray's emotional shortcomings, I think this is something he might understand, considering his experience with his own father.

Superhero Trauma:
Henry is basically an emergency responder, constantly exposed to violent criminals, endangered innocents, and personal physical threat. And for most of that he's a child! Maybe he has actual PTSD symptoms, maybe nightmares, maybe he's just temporarily but intensely unsettled by an episode - and Ray helps him through it, maybe even helps him achieve some real healing. They definitely both need it.

Nightmares:
No gory imagery please, but very psychologically distressing for Henry! Maybe a trauma flashback to something his parents did, or things he's been exposed to as a superhero, or a dream about something happening to Ray or Piper. I just want Henry to wake up devastated and need Ray to comfort him. Maybe they're locked in a cell overnight, maybe they're an established couple sharing a bed, maybe Henry just dozes off in the Man Cave.

And for all he jokes around, Ray is very attentive when Henry needs it - I'd love to see him being tender with him. Maybe helping him to walk, even carrying Henry in his arms? Or just soothing him back at the Man Cave, or while they're locked in a villain's dungeon.

Broken Arm:
Henry canonically breaks his arm in season five. The actual injury happens offscreen, so I'd love you to show me the immediate aftermath - Henry's shock and pain, Ray's concern, how they ended the fight, Ray helping Henry all the way back to the Man Cave... Some great whump fodder in there. And the show skipped Henry's entire recovery too, if you wanted to show me that instead. He must've been in pain for quite a while. Did he still have to go on missions like that? Once they were safe in the Man Cave, Ray kept acting like Henry was fine - I'd love to see him being more tender with him... or admitting he was trivialising it because he's scared about what it means for their work.

Broken Ribs:
This is a show for kids, so it's mostly cartoonish violence. But kicking people in the chest is one thing that happens a lot, and it'd be easy to break a rib or two, especially if Henry was on the floor. When Drex kicks him in The Fate of Danger, Henry keeps clutching his chest for a long while after. I'd love to see another occasion where Henry definitely broke some ribs - but with less of an immediate threat, providing space for Ray to look after him.

Omegaverse Heat:
Okay, hear me out: omega Henry has a painful heat, and fucking would get rid of the pain, and they're both attracted to each other. But they don't fuck. Haven't confessed feelings yet? Alpha Ray can't trust Henry's consent because he gave it after the heat started? Henry is a virgin and not ready to have sex? Whatever reason, Henry's just got to struggle on through it - with Ray comforting him, holding him close, letting Henry inhale his scent... For hours. Also love the trope where omegas find a hand on the back of their neck instinctively really calming. (Similar to scruffing I guess?) And maybe Ray uses that also?

Cuddle Pollen:
Henry gets doused in cuddle pollen, and now he feels exhausted and achey - but being held slowly soothes the symptoms away, or at least reduces them. Ray eagerly provides relief.

Hanahaki:
Pining, now in physical flower form! A confession will instantly cure him... but until then, coughing up petals and chest aches and slowly losing energy, worrying it might kill him. (Maybe hanahaki is rare, and they don't even realise what it means at first?)

Nausea:
Could be seasickness or similar, could be some magical thing, but Henry spends hours feeling like he's a hair's breadth from throwing up. But Ray is there to rub his back and murmur reassurance.

Vomiting:
Or maybe he does throw up. Or needs to be made to throw up. (Ingested poison, maybe?) Maybe even throws up multiple times, till nothing's coming out, his stomach's cramping up, and every new round of retching feels like torture... But Ray is there to rub his back and murmur reassurance.

Whump

Beaten Up:
Bad guys get their hands on Henry and beat him up. Bruises galore, maybe even cracked ribs, absolute agony all over... He's going to need to lie low for a while and recover, probably curled up in the Man Cave till he feels better. Until then - Pain. So much pain.

Injuryless Torture:
I didn't request Graphic Torture because I can't do the kinds that involve gore, but I love the kind where the torture is some kind of psychic/magical thing which causes extreme pain without leaving any trace on the body. Turn that thing up to the max and make Henry scream!

Prompts for Hurt Ray
Angst

Human Weapon:
It'd be easy for Ray to feel like he's treated more as a weapon than a person. The first thing his father did when he realised Ray was densitised was to crack Ray over the head with a metal bat, and the training regime Carl put Ray through was clearly unpleasant, forcing Ray to give up being a child and focus on being a hero - at eight years old. Then Ray graduated to actually being a superhero, and now he's expected to throw himself into danger on a daily basis. He can't be harmed, but he can still feel pain - a lot of pain, under the right (wrong) circumstances. And the general public think it's great fun to smash things on Captain Man. Ray clearly hates that - but he still smiles through gritted teeth and lets them do it. Seems like maybe he feels he can't say no - like his body is public property now, and being indestructible means he has to accept pain. And that's a terrible situation to live in.

Pining:
Pining so bad he aches with it! Pining so bad he feels like he can't breathe! Maybe he fears Henry thinks he's gross and old, maybe he fears the age difference makes the relationship forbidden, maybe he's just convinced Henry doesn't have feelings for him. (The attraction is secretly mutual, but Ray doesn't know that.)

Emotional Hurt/Comfort

Abusive Parent:
We don't know exactly what Carl did to Ray during his childhood training, but the things we do know are already pretty bad: he isolated Ray, taking him out of school, not letting him do any normal kid things. That's clearly fucked up both Ray's social development and his sense of self. And Carl's first response to realising Ray had been densitised was to crack him over the head with a metal bat - an irresponsible scientist like that is probably going to want to test the limits of Ray's indestructibility, maybe even train him to endure pain in the name of being a better hero. Whatever Carl did to Ray, their relationship clearly soured so much that they no longer talk. And Ray doesn't seem like he's properly dealt with any of that, beyond the little boost he gets during Caved In. I'd definitely like to see him healing from it a little, with Henry's help. Henry would probably understand, considering his own parents...

Superhero Trauma:
Ray is basically an emergency responder, constantly exposed to violent criminals, endangered innocents, and personal physical threat. Even if his body is indestructible, that doesn't mean his psyche is. Maybe he has actual PTSD symptoms, maybe nightmares, maybe he's just temporarily but intensely unsettled by an episode - and Henry helps him through it, maybe even helps him achieve some real healing. They definitely both need it.

Nightmares:
No gory imagery please, but very psychologically distressing for Ray! He canonically gets nightmares, though we don't know about what. Maybe a trauma flashback to his childhood training, or things he's been exposed to as a superhero, or a dream about something happening to Henry. I just want Ray to wake up devastated and need Henry to comfort him. Maybe they're locked in a cell overnight, maybe they're an established couple sharing a bed, maybe Ray just dozes off in the Man Cave.

Hurt/Comfort

Injury:
Ray is indestructible... most of the time. But when he's temporarily lost his powers before, Ray's been clawed across the face and suffered a broken arm. I'd love another occasion where he gets depowered and then injured - nothing that's actually going to kill him, but blood and bruises and even cracked ribs are fine. And Henry gently comforts him, maybe even helps Ray walk?

Omegaverse Heat:
Okay, hear me out: omega Ray has a painful heat, and fucking would get rid of the pain, and they're both attracted to each other. But they don't fuck. Haven't confessed feelings yet? Alpha Henry can't trust Ray's consent because he gave it after the heat started? Henry is a virgin and not ready to have sex? Whatever reason, Ray's just got to struggle on through it - with Henry comforting him, holding him close, letting Ray inhale his scent... For hours. Also love the trope where omegas find a hand on the back of their neck instinctively really calming. (Similar to scruffing I guess?) And maybe Henry uses that also?

Illness

Magical Illness:
Either Schwoz or a supervillain somehow invents a new disease that can actually affect Ray. Could be something flu-like, leaving Ray exhausted and confined to bed, needing Henry to spoonfeed him. Could just be some kind of pain pollen, wracking him with intense aches. But Ray is sick, and Henry looks after him while they find a cure.

Cuddle Pollen:
Ray gets doused in cuddle pollen, and now he feels exhausted and achey - but being held slowly soothes the symptoms away, or at least reduces them. Henry earnestly provides relief.

Hanahaki:
Pining, now in physical flower form! A confession will instantly cure him... but until then, coughing up petals and chest aches and slowly losing energy, worrying it might kill him. (Maybe hanahaki is rare, and they don't even realise what it means at first?)

Nausea:
According to Danger Force, Ray canonically gets seasick! Or it could be a side effect from a villain's gadget or something, but Ray spends hours feeling like he's a hair's breadth from throwing up. But Henry is there to rub his back and murmur reassurance.

Vomiting:
Or maybe Ray does throw up. Or needs to be made to throw up. (Ingested poison, maybe?) Maybe even throws up multiple times, till nothing's coming out, his stomach's cramping up, and every new round of retching feels like torture... But Henry is there to rub his back and murmur reassurance.

Whump

Beaten Up:
Ray is indestructible, but he still feels pain. Could be a fight goes really wrong, maybe a scenario like Glerp wailing on Ray, maybe Ray suffering some repeated superpowered attack to protect or rescue Henry... There's no bruises afterwards, but there's a lot of pain during, and that might leave Ray shaken - if even he pretends he's okay.

Injuryless Torture:
I didn't request Graphic Torture because I can't do the kinds that involve gore, but I love the kind where the torture is some kind of psychic/magical thing which causes extreme pain without leaving any trace on the body. Maybe a villain's gadget, specifically designed to cause Ray disabling amounts of pain? Turn that thing up to the max and make Ray scream!
