FFFX 2025

Thank you for creating something for me! My username is [archiveofourown.org profile] forsworn. I requested fic or comics in eight fandoms, with the option to create one work or two in every case. Treats are welcome!

I'm happy with ratings from G to Explicit for sexual content and G to T for violence. (Blood is okay, pain is great, but I don't want exposed organs or bones poking out or things like that.) I'd love anything from the softest fluff to the kinkiest smut, from feelsy hurt/comfort to angsty mutual pining. If none of my prompts inspire you, feel free to pick something from my lists of likes instead!

  • Banter. Getting together. Established relationship. Found family. Characters showing affection in their own way. Groups amusing themselves with jokes and stories while spending every day together. Characters trusting in each other's skills. Competence kink.
  • Cheek touches. Hand on the back of the neck. Hugs and cuddling. Cheek kisses. Forehead kisses. (Platonic versions welcome!)
  • Holding hands. Kisses described in loving detail. Brushing fingers over lips. Size difference (if canon).
  • Angst with a happy ending. Hurt/comfort. Mutual pining. Repression and self-denial. Intense sense of duty or loyalty. Complicated family legacies. Self-esteem issues.
  • Dreams and nightmares. Shared dreams. Prophetic dreams, dreams of future soulmate. Nightmares of past trauma.
  • Truth spells. Telepathic bonds. Soulbonds, accidental or deliberate. Magical tattoos that show connections: soulmate marks, pistilverse, etc.
  • Kidfic, of the canon character being de-aged type. Kidfic, of the having and caring for children type. Pregnancy, including mpreg. Pregnancy fluff: anticipating child, preparing, taking care of pregnant partner. Pregnancy angst: worrying about being a good parent, worrying about the birth (esp for mpreg). Pregnancy hurt/comfort: morning sickness, pampering partner.
  • Forced proximity: stuck in a prison cell together, only one bed, trapped by a cave-in, hiding in a closet, handcuffed together, magic spell, etc.
  • Sparring and combat tutoring. Character A defending character B with character B's weapon.

Art Likes:
  • I enjoy a wide variety of styles: fully rendered paintings, clean lineart, loose sketchy lines, Disney, American comics, anime, chibi, art nouveau, stained glass...
  • Also enjoy most mediums: digital, pencil, ink, markers, watercolours, gouache, charcoal...
  • And lots of colour palettes: realistic colours, bright colours, pastel colours, monochrome, monochrome plus a splash of colour, earthy tones...
  • Any rating, from G to Explicit.
  • All of which amounts to: show me your style! Create what you're inspired to create, in the style that feels natural to you.

Art DNWs:
  • This is technically already covered by the "sex while in animal form" DNW above, but to be specific about how it applies to art: no furry/anthro porn please. (But non-porn furry/anthro is welcome!)

Hurt/Comfort Likes:
  • Emotional hurt/comfort. Physical hurt/comfort. Whump. Mild hurt/comfort.
  • Nightmares. Flashbacks. Crying. Staying with character B as they fall asleep.
  • Impact bruises. Being manually choked. Twisted ankles.
  • Stab wounds. Arrow wounds. Pulling the arrow out. Nosebleeds as fight injury. Grazes and abrasions.
  • Magical torture, psychic torture, and other kinds of pain inflicted without harming the body.
  • Bedside vigils. Holding injured character close. Carrying or supporting someone who can't walk. Character A catching character B as they collapse (even if character A isn't strong enough to hold them up and just helps slow their descent to the floor). Helping injured character undress, remove armour, etc.
  • Seasickness. Morning sickness. "Oh no, that thing you just ate was poisoned." Vomiting in the context of hurt/comfort - the loss of control, the pain of throwing up, the vulnerability of being seen that way - whether due to nausea, induced by emetic, or induced by fingers (theirs or partner's). Not interested in the vomit itself, though fine to mention it looks/smells/tastes gross.
  • Struggling through sex pollen/an omegaverse heat/etc without having sex, only giving non-sexual comfort for the symptoms.
  • Premature ejaculation. Erectile dysfunction. Shame over sexual desires.
  • The awkward vulnerability of comfort requiring a new level of intimacy.
  • Stern/gruff characters making tiny gestures as a comforter and the comfortee understanding that significance. A comforter understanding when the comfortee only wants tiny gestures, and the comfortee being grateful for that understanding. People who are comfortable with each other giving and accepting large amounts of comfort.
  • Stoic hurt characters refusing to break down. Stoic hurt characters letting it all out.
  • I love both the hurt and comfort parts of the equation! Go heavy on one part and less on the other, or have an equal mix of both.

Smut Likes:
  • Positions: Missionary, riding and other face-to-face positions, for eye contact and/or lots of kissing. But spooning pairs well with gentle sex, and oral fingering's probably more easily done from behind.
  • Locations: In bed, in a chair, against a wall, on the floor... In the bedroom, in the living room, in an alley, in a forest, in a dungeon, on a ship, on the victorious battlefield... Basically anywhere? Yeah.
  • Acts: Anal sex, including het anal. Vaginal sex. Loss of virginity. First time bottoming. Pegging. Strap-ons. Deepthroating. Oral fingering. Kissing during sex. Breastplay (fondling, gently squeezing, kissing). Nippleplay (pinching, kissing, licking).
  • Moods: Gentle sex. Tender sex. Fluffy sex. Hurt/comfort sex. Sex with lots of feelings. Vulnerability and trust.
  • BDSM: Dom/sub. Bondage. Pinned down. Kneeling. Collaring. Praise kink. Orgasm delay/edging. BDSM AUs.
  • Dubcon: Sex pollen. Fuck or die. Sex caused by magic or to perform magic. Pining during dubcon. (Whether they admit their feelings during, after, or not at all.) Having to trust each other with the unexpected intimacy. Worrying about being so vulnerable but being kind to each other and coming out stronger on the other side.
  • Size kink and stretching: Big cocks. Painful penetration. Lots of foreplay/prep, slow and gentle penetration so it isn't painful. Large object insertions. Sounding.
  • Omegaverse: Alpha/Omega. Painfully big alpha dicks. Knotting. Sexy pheromones. Pheromones that communicate fear, or anger, or other emotions. Alpha pheromones that make the omega feel safe, or protected, or calm.
  • An undercover situation requires them to fuck while being watched, but they successfully fake it - except the kisses, the touches, the proximity, and the "is it okay if I..." questions whispered right in each other's ears were all very real. And some of those moans didn't sound fake. Either they're so wound up they fuck for real once they're no longer being watched, or the feelings keep simmering until they boil over later.

Simon Basset/Anthony Bridgerton

There's clearly such a deep connection between these two. In their first scene, Simon's grumpy mood disappears the moment he sees Anthony again, and there's such a sense of fondness between them. I love that Simon's response to Daphne's line that one should marry their dearest friend is: "Are you suggesting I marry your brother?" But Anthony and Simon struggle to express their feelings and open up about their problems, leading to various punchups between them - is that simply about inarticulated frustration, or is there a subconscious desire for physical contact?

Despite his charm and rakish attitude, Simon resents being vulnerable - and uses his sharp tongue as a shield. Protective Anthony is more open despite his trauma, but struggles with the burden of responsibility vs his urge to indulge - though he once had a more humourous, even prank-loving side, which Simon alone seems familiar with. There's a complete contrast with their family situations - Anthony and the fond bustle of all his siblings, only child Simon rejected by his father - and I think that could lead them to different, interesting outlooks on (and hopes for) personal relationships. But they're both rakes, happily indulging their forbidden desires, and while others might disapprove maybe Simon and Anthony would celebrate that commonality.

But there are some desires too taboo even for a rake. Even in the Bridgerton universe, the Regency time period means homosexual love and attraction are completely forbidden. I can see that resulting in a certain amount of internalised homophobia - a reluctance to admit even to themselves what they're feeling, a belief that it's something that shouldn't be indulged, that it's something shamefully unmanly, even dangerous. (And they wouldn't be entirely wrong - they could be hanged if society found out; I'm fine with that worry being present, with that vague threat hanging over them, but please don't out them or have anyone actually threaten them.) Maybe all of that combines with a more standard hesitation about intimacy, and results in them mutually pining - even for years. Or maybe, as they're already scandalising polite society, they don't see the problem as long as their relationship stays secret, and happily hop into bed. But that need for secrecy, the fact they can only be their true selves in private, could also lend a certain intensity and closeness to the whole thing.

You could set this during their Oxford days, or later when they're rakes about town, or a no-wives AU. I enjoy this both as a romance and as a friends-with-benefits arrangement - or FWB who accidentally fall in love. And I'm happy for the other Bridgertons and/or Lady Danbury to appear - and even to find out, and quietly approve of, Simon/Anthony's secret relationship. (Benedict obviously won't care, lmao.)

  • I love the idea that they were roommates at Oxford, with all the comfortable intimacy of a shared domestic space - and somewhere they can share their secret. And then there's late night study sessions, or afternoon ones in the library, the pressure of exams, Simon helping clean up the aftermath of Anthony's pranks, shenanigans at student events, drinking together as they trawl the pubs in town, or late night drinking together in the privacy of their room...
  • Or what about meetings at their gentlemen's club? More drinking, eating together, bantering, gambling... Between the socially-acceptable indulgence and the masculine-power vibe, do they end up doing and saying things they shouldn't? Frotting in a closet? Even smashing another table as they fight?
  • Simon loves his boxing. Does he ever spar with Anthony? Is it a bit of fun as they banter, getting sweaty together? Or does Simon bait Anthony with sharp words, deliberately drawing him into a tense bout? Even escalating to more real fighting? Maybe it's simply their masculine competition arising... or maybe the "inventing rituals to touch the skin of other men" trope, both of them hungry for a socially-acceptable way to be in contact with each other? And is that bruising contact enough, when they're really aching for something more tender?
  • Half the fantasy of Bridgerton is all the luxury and glamour of Regency high society - the balls, the banquets, the beautiful outfits. But do they resent the pressures of that life, unable to share those shows of affection with each other? Maybe a frustrated Simon flees a ball for the silent solitude of the dark gardens, to stew in his thoughts and his pining - but Anthony sees, and follows him? Do they ever get to dance together in private - in the gardens, in their dormroom, in the Bridgerton family home, in their country mansions? Does it start as a jest for those watching (or even for themselves, claiming humour as plausible deniability) or are they completely sincere about that intimate fun?
  • Some sickfic would be great, with one nursing the other - maybe pretending reluctance, covering their feelings with banter? Or maybe full of sincere concern, as they teeter on the edge of a confession, or already in a relationship? Getting a chill from the rain, or a fever from the flu, or hacking up petals from hanahaki, or struggling to suppress their nausea... The lack of real medical treatment could make this an intense experience.
  • Or maybe one of them has a nightmare - Simon about his cold father's rejection, Anthony about his loving father's loss - and the other one comforts him. Maybe they're already a couple, or friends with benefits, and sharing a bed for that reason...
  • But sharing a bed for warmth is also such a good trope for them, whether at Oxford, or both stumbling back to the same house after a night of debauchery. Winters can be harsh with no central heating, especially if they get snowed in and run out of firewood.
  • I loved the scenes of Simon interacting with the younger Bridgerton siblings. Maybe Anthony takes him home one holiday season during their Oxford days, knowing Simon won't be going to stay with his own father, and Simon sinks into the cosy warmth of all that fond bustle - even as he and Anthony pine for each other. Or maybe they've already started a relationship, and Anthony invites him home as his secret partner - but can they indulge their love? Do they worry about all the Bridgertons finding out - only to find none of them care?
  • Maybe they both desperately try to suppress their feelings, and the sexual tension gets more intense every time they meet, building and building till it bubbles over - and they end up frotting in a closet, too overcome with guilt to actually talk about their feelings. So they each assume the other regrets it, or isn't interested in love, and they both pretend it never happened - till it happens again. And again...
  • Or maybe as gleeful rakes, they're happy to explore sex with each other. Handjobs, blowjobs, grinding close - they want to try it all. Even anal, the most forbidden kind of homosexual intimacy. But are they hesitant about crossing that line? Overwhelmed by the vulnerable act of allowing another man inside them? Maybe it's an expression of their love and trust, or maybe just some casual fun... But maybe the feelings build the more they fuck, both of them pining even in the throes of all that pleasure, till one of them can't keep quiet any more? And are these rakes overwhelmed by having sex with someone they actually love for the first time? Especially as Simon has presumably never come inside a woman - does he think it's safe to share that with Anthony, then find the experience very intense? (No preference for who tops or bottoms.)
  • Simon's father always shamed him for being a male omega, so he's always tried to keep his status secret - but even if he can suppress his scent, there's no way to hide it when an unexpected heat hits him. Maybe he tries to hold back, but ends up begging for alpha Anthony's help - or does protective Anthony figure it out, and insists on holding Simon close, to calm him with his alpha scent? Or maybe Anthony is the omega, firmly insistent that a viscount isn't lessened by it, that he can resist the urges of a heat - confident in the reassurance that his best friend Simon understands, being a fellow omega... Only Simon isn't an omega. He's an alpha, rejected by his father for never developing his scent as an alpha should. But still very capable of soothing a heat with a knot - and willing, if Anthony will allow himself to be vulnerable enough to ask.
  • Or maybe they're both alphas, struggling with an attraction that's doubly forbidden. Does their banter and competition bubble over into fucking one day - the two of them wrestling for dominance as their scents clash, till one submits and the other knots him? Or maybe they compete to prove that they're strong enough to take a knot - even if they find that act needs more tenderness to succeed than either expected? And can their secret feelings stay hidden for all the time they're physically locked together, pressed intimately close?

Alice Chambers/Frank Carlson

I loved the mindfuckery aspects of this film, and Frank was so compellingly creepy that I both wanted to run away and couldn't take my eyes off him. Their intellectual rivalry and mind games, with Frank daring Alice to work out what's really going on, sparked such good chemistry between them, and I'd love to see more in that vein - or maybe Frank alters Alice's memory to keep her unknowing and compliant. If you want to do smut, I'm happy for it to be anywhere from noncon to dubcon to fully consensual (if maybe conflicted and/or filled with shame).

I'm fine with missing scenes, with canon divergence (Frank lives and Alice gets caught; Shelley escapes instead of Alice; Alice goes for a final showdown with Frank; etc) or with setting change AUs (it's the 1950s for real and Victory is developing a mind serum; Victory is a cult; Frank and Alice are teacher/student in the modern area, or at a magic academy, or in space; etc).

Considering the nature of the relationships in this canon, I have no problem with either Alice or Frank "cheating" on their partners, and I'm fine with both Jack/Alice and Frank/Shelley in the background. Jack can be alive or dead - or you can kill him off again, if you're doing an AU - but if Shelley exists I want her to survive. (Maybe Shelley escapes instead, and Frank decides to claim Alice in her place?)

  • Every time they meet at a party, Frank gets a little closer to Alice - both as a friend, and physically invading her personal space. Maybe she feels guilty about the way his proximity lights a fire inside her, but Jack keeps encouraging more between them. Maybe before she begins to suspect him (or even after they start their cat-and-mouse game) Alice is more receptive to Frank's advances, and he slowly melts her reluctance over several encounters, as they chat or dance or eat together... until he kisses her, and she kisses him back. Or more.
  • Do they ever meet in a more casual capacity, out and about in Victory? Maybe Frank goes to the pool too one day. Or bumps into Alice while she's shopping. Or they end up opponents - or teammates - on the tennis court. Or there's a company picnic at the park... But the gentler mood doesn't soften Frank's intensity, even if it means Alice's guard is down.
  • The next time Alice breaks through the brainwashing, she realises Frank has been wiping her memory over and over. But the more good memories she builds with him, the harder it is to keep hold of the bad ones.
  • Is there such a thing as hurt/non-consensual comfort? Maybe Alice goes for a final confrontation with Frank - but she's injured, and he overpowers her. And then he insists on caring for her: bandaging her wounds, holding her close, brushing her hair from her face, kissing her forehead, gently touching her, or murmuring that everything's going to be alright... just looking after her in a way that's both soft and creepy, and which Alice doesn't want but can't refuse.
  • Frank loves his pseudo-philosophical bullshit. Maybe he and Alice get into a debate - or a series of debates - at a dinner party, or a company picnic, or while dancing together, or when he captures her, or during a physical brawl between them, or...
  • Not strictly a prompt in itself, but definitely something you could work into another prompt: worldbuilding! I have so many questions about Victory and how it works. Did Frank code the software, design the hardware, or both? What was causing the tremors? Was the crashing plane part of the simulation, or just in Alice's head? We know that the children aren't real, so who else is just a programme - the bus driver, the shop assistants, Frank's henchmen in red? How much control does Frank have over Alice's memories? Feel free to play with the inner workings of Victory, for shippy reasons or otherwise.
  • Frank has found a way to reveal soulmate marks in a world that never had them... or maybe he's actually found a way to forcibly create - or overwrite - a soulbond that didn't exist. Once Jack is gone, Frank tears apart her bond with him and forces Alice to be his soulmate instead.
  • When Jack encourages Alice to join him on these new personal development courses he's got into, it seems harmless enough. But Frank, the leader of Victory Mindset, singles Alice out and tells her she has real potential. Alice slowly gets drawn into the spider's web, and by the time she realises just how dangerous and unhealthy Frank's methods for "helping" his followers are, she's in so deep that getting out won't be easy... Or maybe, despite the unsettling feeling inside her, Alice never manages to see through Frank's mask at all.
  • Alice was growing tired of Jack, but these days it's hard to remember why - he seems so magnetic now, and it's hard to question things when she's so much more tired than she used to be. She keeps waking up with two strange marks on her neck. And Jack's new friend Frank seems to have a power over him - and her - that she can't really explain. There's something about Frank's hypnotic eyes, and the way he looks at her like he wants to devour her...
  • Frank is the headmaster of a college that teaches sex magic. Alice gets along with her partner Jack, but she can't help but be flattered by Frank taking a special interest in her - and suspicious about the costs and ultimate goals of the intimate magic he's teaching. Maybe Frank offers some personal tuition, tells Alice she's in danger of failing out, and/or asks for her help with a special spell. Maybe Alice discovers a dark truth at the heart of the college, but has to play along while she collects the evidence to prove it.
  • One of the parties Alice and Jack attend is actually a swingers' party - and Alice gets paired with Frank. Is she conflicted about her attraction - but slowly won over as Frank seduces her, maybe plying her with a drink or two, or taking her to his home for some quiet and privacy? Or does she take it as a guilt-free chance to indulge herself - but maybe finds unsettling something about Frank's behaviour as they fuck? Can she let it go afterwards? Does ambitious Jack encourage her to take advantage of that connection - or does Alice find herself sneaking around behind her husband's back?
  • A glitch in Victory's software has a sex pollen-like effect. Frank and Alice just happen to be in close proximity when it hits them. Or maybe it wasn't a glitch, and Frank dosed Alice on purpose.
  • Frank tweaks Victory's software so that he and Alice can feel each other's pleasure, or hear each other's thoughts... or even so that he can control Alice's arousal directly, maybe even make her orgasm with the press of a button.
  • Omega Alice goes into heat, and with Jack away (or dead) she needs help from alpha Frank to get her through it. But being knotted by him is way more intimate than she bargained for.
  • Now that Jack's out of the picture, Frank decides to just take what he wants. Whether he pins her down, ties her up, manhandles her against a wall, or quietly threatens Alice before gently nonconning her, he's going to force her to enjoy it.

Paul Atreides/Duncan Idaho

I was sold on these two from that very first hug. Their power dynamic is complicated and intriguing: Duncan is older, stronger, a more skilled warrior, and Paul's combat tutor - but Paul is the heir to House Atreides and capable of using the Voice. And there seems such genuine affection between them. I love how Duncan teases Paul, but also calls him "my boy"... And this exchange: "Can I trust you with something?" "Always. You know that." Omfg. I am all about the trust, loyalty and duty here - on both sides.

And Duncan really is so loyal, so devoted, willing to sacrifice everything for House Atreides. He's a deeply honourable man, dependable and trustworthy enough to be Paul's confidante - enough to be sent to the Fremen, where he develops so much respect for their way of life. With Paul, he's mostly playful, but he does have a serious side - in official meetings, and in that moment Paul prophesies his death. But maybe all of that honour and strong spirit leads him to repressing his feelings, determined to protect Paul from any pain he might accidentally inflict? Because he has twenty years of life experience on Paul, with all the scars that grants - physical and emotional.

I love how soft and sweet Paul can be - his teases with Duncan, openly hugging Thufir - but I also enjoy his harder, harsher aspects. He's determined, a survivor, even ruthless - he literally doesn't blink at that hunter-seeker, his whimpers at the painbox transmute to a steely defiance. And Paul takes his duties seriously, following Leto's example as a protective leader - but being the ducal heir also gives Paul an edge of pride, even petulance, so offended by the Reverend Mother dismissing Jessica, of forcing him to kneel. And he still has a little teenage moodiness, telling Gurney he doesn't feel like sparring. With Duncan, my main focus for Paul is him being playful and/or a serious student, and I'm happy for you to stick to that side of him - but I do love the nuance of his flaws if you want to include those.

The two of them have such a beautiful bond - but there are definite obstacles to a relationship between them. No doubt Paul is expected to make a political match, and Duncan hardly fits the image of a polished concubine. What kind of relationship do they, can they, hope to have? Maybe it starts as a mentorship-with-benefits thing, Duncan giving Paul a way to explore sex with someone he trusts - and then feelings develop. Or maybe they hide their feelings, mutually pining, convinced that the other one wouldn't (shouldn't) be interested in them. Maybe they think they can never be together - because of the age difference, or the power difference, or because Leto would never approve. And it'd be understandable if Leto was suspicious - but maybe Duncan could convince him that he'd never hurt or unduly influence Paul, or Paul could convince Leto that his feelings for Duncan are strong and genuine?

I'm mainly looking for something set just before canon, or maybe early in the first film, once Duncan returns from the Fremen - before everything goes to shit on Arrakis. DNW underage, but Paul's age is ambiguous, so I will happily assume he's over 18 at this point. But as he's still young, and there don't seem to be any people his own age around Castle Caladan, I can see Paul still being a virgin. And I'm fine with Paul having had a crush on Duncan before he turned 18, but please don't have Duncan thinking of Paul that way before he's an adult. Other than that, feel free to delve into the age difference as much as you want!

  • One of my favourite tropes for these two is sparring and combat training. The film implies that Paul's sessions are usually with Duncan - but we never got to see one! And there's so many ways you could tackle it. From the comfortable familiarity of those regular meetings, to the banter as they test each other's skills, to the physical proximity as they spar, or as Duncan presses close to guide Paul through the right positions for a new move... Maybe Paul tries a difficult move and slips, injuring himself, and Duncan gently looks after him. Maybe Duncan pins Paul to the floor or to a wall, teasing him about losing a bout, only to discover Paul's intense physical reaction. Maybe Duncan accidentally calls Paul a "good boy" and stirs something in him. Maybe Duncan is pushing Paul, with some exercises or a strenuous bout of sparring, and the physical effort makes Paul coregasm - and the awkward aftermath leads to some confessions. Or maybe they just get to enjoy some soft, honest chats as they take a break, sip some water and recover their breath?
  • I love the whole concept of Paul's prophetic dreams too. We know Paul foresaw Duncan's death - how many times did he dream that before he told Duncan? How many times after? It seems like Duncan already understood Paul's prophetic ability. When did Paul reveal that? What kind of dream prompted it? Did he ever have a different kind of prophetic dream about Duncan - maybe he saw himself confessing his love, and Duncan reciprocating, and then had to silently pine as he waited for that exact moment to make sure he didn't ruin it? Maybe he saw himself confessing - and Duncan rejecting him, not knowing that Duncan was repressing his own feelings so much that it would take him a while to realise, and sheepishly come back to Paul? Maybe Paul even dreamed about a kiss, or them having sex, and was desperate to believe it was prophetic and not simply his own desires...
  • There are so many fun, iddy things you could do with Paul's ability to use the Voice as well. Does Duncan volunteer to let Paul practise - only to find it a far more vulnerable surrender than his usual service? Does Paul worry that he'll one day use it on Duncan without meaning to? Maybe they agree he can use it on purpose, as part of a dom/sub arrangement. Maybe Paul's struck by some kind of strange sickness that turns his own power on himself, forcing him to always answer truthfully - or to obey any command given...
  • I love the idea of Duncan accompanying Paul on daytrips as well. We see him wandering the shoreline alone - but maybe when he goes further afield, Leto insists Duncan goes as bodyguard. Or Paul simply invites Duncan to accompany him? Maybe they get to relax as they picnic in a beautiful spot, perhaps by a stunning waterfall. Or they enjoy the signs of the changing seasons as they stroll through a forest. Maybe they visit some hot springs and catch a glimpse of each other naked - or don't even try to hide anything, maybe even indulge in outdoor sex in an established relationship. Or maybe a fierce storm rolls in while they're hours from home, and they have to take shelter in a cave or a little cabin - and huddle for warmth, even sharing a bed, till they can get home without the risk of getting very sick. Or maybe while they're out in the wilds, Paul slips or falls and injures himself. Does Duncan gently, playfully look after him till help arrives? Even carry Paul all the way to safety? Or maybe they take a boat trip - but one of them turns out to be seasick?
  • Maybe they get to have some fun at a formal (or not so formal) Atreides party. Paul's heart racing as he sees Duncan all dressed up in uniform, beard neatly brushed and hair braided? (Maybe Paul helped him braid it.) Does Paul ask Duncan to be his partner for a ballroom dance? Maybe they laugh and press close in some more casual dancing, as Gurney plays the baliset? Maybe it's a masquerade event, and Paul indulges his fantasy and freely flirts with Duncan - but does Duncan recognise him too? Maybe Paul gets a bit drunk and starts cosying up to Duncan, who nobly insists on looking after him instead - or looks after Paul when he makes himself sick, steering him outside to a quiet spot... Or maybe the hurt/comfort is because the Harkonnens somehow poison something - and Paul is the one to consume it, but attentive Duncan realises something's wrong and gets him help... while the intensity of his own worry makes him realise how deeply he cares for Paul?
  • Or maybe one of them has a nightmare, and the other one comforts him. Does Paul worry his terrible dream is prophetic? Can Duncan reassure him? Maybe Duncan is the distressed one - flashing back to a battlefield, or some other trauma. I'd love to see them being soft and vulnerable with each other.
  • When Duncan reunites with Paul on Arrakis, he brings him (and only him) a present - is this one of the ways they show their affection? How many gifts has Duncan given Paul before this? How many has Paul given in return? Were they practical ones, or little luxuries - maybe tasty treats? Did they start out giving gifts as secret admirers, silently angsting away? Or has it always been a soft, fluffy thing for them? These two definitely deserve some fluff - maybe your theme could be their hugs instead, or the way Duncan calls Paul "my boy", or just them fondly teasing each other as they get to relax together.
  • Maybe they've been mutually pining, repressing their feelings because they think a relationship isn't possible... and then are accidentally soulbonded together, by an ancient relic on Caladan, or some Harkonnen trick on Arrakis, or some Bene Gesserit weirdness. Now they have no choice but to stick close, experiencing pain if they step too far away, forcing them into constant proximity - even requiring them to share a bed. Or maybe it creates a telepathic or empathic link, sharing their thoughts or feelings, and they can't hide their secrets any more. Can they find a way to break the soulbond? Do they want to break it? Maybe, now that they're bonded, they think Leto can't possibly proscribe a relationship between them. Or maybe honourable Duncan refuses to take advantage, refuses to allow Paul to indulge this impossible connection when his future has such different duties in it - but can he deny Paul's aching heart forever? If they break the bond, does the hollow it leaves behind just mean they long for each other even more - leading them to (re)claim the intimacy they miss?
  • I'd love some canon divergence where Duncan lives. Maybe Paul realises this is the moment he foresaw, and sticks so close to Duncan that he can't slip away? Maybe Paul gets there in time to dash through the closing door, and they defeat the Sardaukar together? Maybe Paul uses the Voice to order Duncan back to him? However it happens, Duncan survives too, and he joins Paul among the Fremen - their relationship growing and changing as they face those obstacles... but maybe Duncan's presence changes the outcome of all that. (I'm fine with background Paul/Chani here, but you're also free to ignore that ship altogether.)
  • The feudal system of the Great Houses could translate so well to a high fantasy AU. Paul as a young prince, unexpectedly inheriting the throne when the Harkonnens assassinate King Leto? Duncan as a literal knight in shining armour? Maybe even a highly skilled dragonrider? Maybe Paul has more than prophetic dreams and the Voice - maybe he has full on magic powers, which he needs to learn to control? I just love the vibes of a fantasy setting, and I'd love to see a twist on the familiar plot - or an entirely new one.
  • There aren't many (or any?) people his own age living in Castle Caladan, so Paul doesn't have that many options for dating. Still a virgin at eighteen, he decides he's ready for his first sexual experience - but he wants it to be with someone he trusts, someone experienced enough to make it good for him, someone with the tenderness to be gentle with him. Obviously he asks Duncan. Or maybe he tries a softer approach, asking for some kissing lessons first?
  • Somewhere in the wilds of Caladan, or after triggering a trap on Arrakis left by the Harkonnens, one or both of them gets dosed with sex pollen. Does Duncan desperately try to suppress the urges, even as he gets sicker and sicker, reluctant to let innocent Paul help him - however earnestly Paul offers? Maybe Paul is the one afflicted, and he clings to Duncan through the vulnerable cure - or maybe tries to hide the symptoms, worrying Duncan would feel pressured to help him? Maybe he can't hide it, but Duncan is reluctant to help, unsure if Paul's urging is genuine - but he can't ignore how his boy's getting weaker and weaker. Or they both get sex pollened, and can't suppress their mutual pining any more, leading them to confess and consummate their relationship?
  • Do the existing power dynamics transfer to a dom/sub relationship between them? Maybe Paul feels so safe with his tutor leading him that he wants Duncan to continue that in the bedroom, controlling his orgasms, making him kneel, tying him up, or instructing him to stay still, even collaring him... Or maybe Duncan loves to serve Paul in bed too, obeying his boy's commands, and Paul takes that responsibility seriously - even as he finds it incredibly hot.
  • With all the genderfuckery of being the Kwisatz Haderach, I think Paul as a male omega could be really interesting. Does it put him in a vulnerable position, as the ducal heir? Can he control and influence his scent in unusual ways? Does he stubbornly resist the urges of his heat? Or maybe when he's due to have his first real heat as an adult, he asks commanding alpha Duncan to help him through it - or tries to ride it out alone, only to end up begging Duncan, who's reluctant to believe Paul really wants it? Does Paul have to wear a gag to stop him accidentally using the Voice? Maybe an older alpha looking after an innocent omega is much more accepted, and they get to slip happily into a relationship with fewer obstacles - and enjoy the intensity of knotting. Maybe they get to enjoy some soft domesticity as Paul nests, or Duncan calming and reassuring Paul with a hand on the back of his neck. Or maybe their scents are a distraction during sparring, especially when they're still pining.

Doric/Xenk Yendar

We don't really get any focused moments between these two in the film, but Doric actually seems like the least hostile to Xenk from the beginning - ironic considering her stance on humans started as "hateful and selfish" and "just can't help but lie"... but then Xenk and his ridiculous paladin goodness are so obviously the opposite of that! If Xenk joined the party for further adventures, I like to imagine they'd become good friends, and then fall in love (maybe after mutually pining). Or maybe just gently looking after each other during a dubcon scenario.

I love Doric's combination of a sharp tongue with her moral integrity and intense environmental concern, and how that contrasts and blends with Xenk's stern intensity, his awkward ways, and his own intense sense of justice and goodness. They're both visibly outsiders in ways the others aren't, so maybe they would have a natural understanding - or they'd bond over the angst of losing their families because of it. And between their outsider status and Xenk's sense of duty, I tend to imagine they're both virgins.

(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)

  • Doric gets injured and tries to remain stoic as Xenk heals her, even though he has to press his hands to her bare skin. Or Xenk gets injured, and can't heal himself - but Doric knows a natural remedy, and the plant grows in this area. Maybe the intimacy of the healing sparks a frisson between them, and results in a kiss.
  • Or maybe Doric's injury results in her collapsing, and Xenk catches her before she hits the ground. And the way he's holding her close, looking at her with such concern, sets her heart pounding...
  • Or their quest requires travelling by boat - and Xenk turns out to get really seasick. Doric sits with Xenk as he (tries not to) vomit, gently rubbing his back, softening her sharp tongue to comfort him - with her openness and his vulnerability resulting in some unexpected tenderness?
  • Doric has such a connection to the natural world, and serious Xenk seems like he'd have a quiet respect for nature - do they bond as she teaches him about the different birdcalls they can hear, or the plants they see growing? Maybe they go foraging together? Or relax and enjoy the scenery when they make camp for the night - in a lush forest, or a beautiful meadow, or by a stunning waterfall? You could delve deep into one scene, or use a 4 seasons or 5(+1) format.
  • A strange artifact accidentally creates a soulbond between them. Now they're stuck hearing each other's thoughts, feeling each other's feelings, and/or unable to move more than a few feet apart. Maybe they're mostly concerned with the practical aspects of continuing to adventure, as they search for a cure... but the forced proximity and unexpected intimacy brings them together. Maybe the spell means they'll get really sick if they don't have a certain amount of skin-to-skin contact every day... or if they don't have sex every day.
  • Huddling for warmth in a cold cave, a snowed-in cabin, locked in a cell together, etc results in them kissing. Maybe Xenk is too repressed to do more, even though Doric's up for it. Maybe he'll agree to skin-to-skin contact, but only because tieflings have a naturally higher body temp. Or maybe Doric convinces him that some casual sex is the best way to keep warm, and they both have a great time.
  • A quest requires two of the group to go undercover as a couple - and it needs Doric and Xenk's unique skills in particular. Is this a magical night at a ball (even a masquerade ball), where the enchanting mood sets feelings simmering? Or maybe they're sent to infiltrate a cult, and they have to rely on their trust in the dangerous situation. Do they get picked for one of the cult's rituals - which turns out to be ritual public sex? Maybe they try to fake their way through it, even as the intimate touches stir up real desire. Maybe they just decide to go for it, and gently help each other through some tender dubcon.
  • While adventuring away from the others, they discover a magical grove that's slowly being corrupted. Both of them are eager to cleanse it, but then its guardians explain that the ritual magic would require the two of them to have sex.
  • One or both of them gets hit by sex pollen, and there's nobody else around to help. Maybe Doric is practical and sees no reason not to have some fun together. Maybe Xenk is conflicted, wanting to help - or needing help himself - but reluctant to open up to her. But in the end he's too kind, or too desperate, to actually refuse it... even if he's a virgin.
  • Omega Doric goes into heat and asks alpha Xenk to help her through it. Maybe he's a virgin and nervous about being so intimate - but he can't bear to see her suffering. Or maybe he doesn't trust her ability to consent, or neither of them is ready to lose their virginity, so Xenk just holds Doric close so she can inhale his alpha scent, offering gentle comfort till her heat subsides.

Edgin Darvis/Doric

While trying to recruit her, Edgin was definitely using all his charm (although not in a sexual way) but Doric seemed utterly immune to it. I loved the tender moment when Edgin was sitting on the rock on the beach: his little smile as she walked over, the way she gently patted his shoulder and he patted hers in return, and she smiled back. Maybe his charm would be more welcome now they have a genuine connection, or maybe she'd be the one to instigate it.

I love that Doric is so committed to doing good and looking after nature, but that she doesn't let the rules stand in her way. And she has a very sharp tongue, in contrast to Edgin's silver one. Edgin thinks of himself as a thief and a lawbreaker, and is maybe trying to pretend he doesn't enjoy doing good as much as he actually does. He uses humour and a charming mask to hide his pain, but Doric absolutely doesn't fall for it - even if she'll be soft when he finally lets himself be vulnerable. But is she prepared to be vulnerable in return? I'm happy for this to be either a romantic ship, or casual sex/FWB/Edgin gently looking after Doric in a dubcon scenario, especially if her tiefling status means she's still a virgin.

(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)

  • I'd love to see more soft moments like the one on the beach. Maybe Doric talks more about her family or about how people treat her as a tiefling, and Edgin patiently listens before reassuring her. Maybe Edgin has a nightmare about Zia while Doric's on watch in their camp, and she sits with him while he calms down. Just some gentle vulnerability between them, where Edgin drops his mask - but maybe not his jokes.
  • A strange artifact accidentally creates a soulbond between them. Now they're stuck hearing each other's thoughts, feeling each other's feelings, and/or unable to move more than a few feet apart. Maybe they banter about the difficulties as they search for a cure... but the forced proximity and unexpected intimacy brings them together. Maybe the spell means they'll get really sick if they don't have a certain amount of skin-to-skin contact every day... or if they don't have sex every day.
  • Edgin gets injured, but luckily Doric knows of a herbal medicine that can help - and it grows nearby. Maybe the intimacy of treating him sparks a frisson between them, and she ends up giving him a kiss - or some sexual comfort too.
  • A quest requires two of the group to go undercover as a couple - and it needs Doric and Edgin's unique skills in particular.
  • Huddling for warmth in a cold cave, a snowed-in cabin, locked in a cell together, etc results in them opening up emotionally - or turns into casual sex to keep warm.
  • Doric wants to lose her virginity to someone she trusts, so she asks charming, experienced Edgin to do the deed. Maybe he's initially reluctant and she has to convince him she means it. Maybe Edgin is so well-endowed that she needs a lot of foreplay and he has to be very gentle about the whole thing. But they have a great night together and Doric is glad of the experience.
  • One or both of them gets hit by sex pollen, maybe while they're trapped in a dungeon and there's nobody else around. Maybe Edgin tries to resist and Doric insists she doesn't have a problem with doing it - or maybe they'll die if they don't fuck, and they're gentle with each other as they rely on their friendship to get through it.
  • Omega Doric goes into heat while there's nobody else around and begs alpha Edgin to ease her suffering. Maybe he's worried that it's just the heat talking and refuses to do more than hold her close and give her his scent, resisting anything more throughout the entire thing. Or maybe she convinces him that knotting her is the most practical option and they have an intense night with no regrets after.

Edgin Darvis/Xenk Yendar

These two have such a great dynamic. I love their banter and how they spark with each other - Xenk and his literal mind bouncing off Edgin's usual wordplay, still prompting smiles in each other, even as they clash over Edgin's thievery and Xenk's paladin ways. That contrast somehow settles to a comfortable blend, with Edgin reluctant for Xenk to leave. And I love how touchyfeely they are - Edgin in general, and Xenk with all his (offers of) handholding... Pressing his hand to Edgin's on the Harper's seal, pulling him up after saving him, their earnest handshake as they prepare to part. So much touching! And so much banter! But they also challenge each other to grow, and I'd love to see how their relationship develops after the film, with a softer friendship blossoming into romance.

Despite his 20 minutes of screentime, Edgin's narrative arc is so bound up with Xenk. Edgin's been projecting this image of a cheerful, charming leader for so long, hiding his deep trauma over Zia with quips and songs. He's focused all of his pain into hating the Red Wizards, blaming Thayans for his loss - maybe because it's easier than blaming himself. But then he meets Xenk, a Thayan so noble and innocent that it shatters Edgin's foundation. And Edgin can't even console himself with the idea that anyone in his position would've been tempted by that gold - because again, Xenk is so pure and moral, and proves that people can be better. Even makes Edgin promise to be more than a common thief, reigniting his old Harper heroism. Xenk is the pivot point of Edgin's growth and healing.

Xenk's own angst is mostly implied, a subtext to the fascinating details we get. He's a paladin, a holy warrior, so strict in protecting others - but he's also a Thayan, a hated outsider, visibly marked by necromantic magic. I love the tension in him being both blessed and cursed. Does Xenk feel the need to be the perfect paladin to balance out the terrible opinions people have about Thayans? Once people have accepted his cursed nature, do they tend to place him on a pedestal, glorifying him as a legendary paladin instead? He glides away from the crowd's praise after saving that catbaby; his retort to Edgin's anti-Thayan sentiment is not to defend himself, but to speak of other Thayans, innocents turned into monsters. Does he think of himself as a monster? But Xenk is so kind and caring, risking himself to save Edgin - and so stern and serious, rigidly sticking to his moral framework. Does he feel bound by his duty, by his paladin vows - even to the point of repressing his own wants, needs and hopes? Does he feel he has to earn his own humanity, by so harshly rejecting his own partially undead nature, by being such a paragon of virtue? Does Xenk feel like he can't be less than perfect? Maybe his insistence that Edgin can be a better man is a reflection of Xenk's need to believe in his own goodness.

With all of those worries swirling around, these two could slip so deep into mutual pining. Maybe Xenk thinks he can't be with anyone because of his duty as a paladin, or because the Beckoning Death has left him cursed, partially undead, lacking part of his soul, etc. Maybe Edgin finds out Xenk is a virgin and assumes the guy isn't interested in sex at all. (I do headcanon Xenk as a virgin.) Or Edgin thinks Xenk's too noble and pure to want a criminal like him, or thinks Xenk wants someone more serious or more intellectual. Xenk thinking Edgin's too charming and sociable to want someone as awkward and unbending as him... I love the angsty possibilities of all this, the two of them keeping their feelings secret even as they're practically bursting with longing. And when combined with their touchyfeely natures - they must be torturing each other!

Established relationship and getting together both welcome. Edgin's lingering angst over Zia is fine. Or you could do some angst focusing on that mutual pining, or some physical hurt/comfort, or soft fluff, or fun tropes - maybe as part of a new adventure for them. If there's smut, happy for it to be vanilla or kinky, fully consensual or dubcon (sex pollen, fuck-or-die, bad guys made them do it, omegaverse heat, etc) I'm open to both autistic Xenk and/or ADHD Edgin, or neurotypical depictions. I mainly see Xenk as being sworn to justice, as a general concept, rather than a specific god - but feel free to pick one, if it suits the themes of your work. (Like, Ilmater is a great choice if Xenk is suffering, whether in whump or in sexy painplay.) And feel free to include any or all of the party!

  • Xenk has recurring nightmares about the Beckoning Death. Edgin comforts him after one, either because he was on watch in camp, because they were forced to share a bed, or because they're already sleeping together.
  • Oh no, they just touched this magical artifact and now they have a telepathic soulbond! Does Xenk start thinking exclusively in Thayan so Edgin can't hear his pining? Does Edgin have to keep singing a song in his head so he doesn't start thinking about the way Xenk's touching him? Does the bond force Edgin to share Xenk's nightmares, and discover the true depths of his trauma? Do they end up having mindblowing telepathic sex?
  • Xenk keeps finding more and more excuses to hold Edgin's hand, and Edgin is running out of reasons to refuse...
  • Hurt/comfort, where Xenk can't use his healing for whatever reason. Either one as the hurt party, with the other one looking after them, burning with worry, the pining only getting worse as they give them reassuring touches, or even hold them close...
  • Or their quest requires travelling by boat - and Xenk turns out to get really seasick. Charming Edgin insists on staying with Xenk as he (tries not to) vomit, rubbing his back, maybe trying to distract him from the nausea - but under Edgin's bluff cheer, Xenk's unexpected vulnerability stirs a real edge of tenderness.
  • A quest requires two of the group to go undercover as a couple - and it needs Xenk and Edgin's unique skills in particular.
  • Maybe they confess their feelings - and then don't have a sex for a while, because Xenk's angst means he's not ready for it. Edgin's happy to wait, and there's lots of kissing and a growing emotional intimacy, before he finally deflowers a nervous but excited Xenk with some gentle and tender sex.
  • Or maybe they've both been longing so much, driven mad by all the torture of those little touches, that when they discover they're in love with each other they're both desperate to fuck.
  • Xenk has found a powerful artifact he can use against the Red Wizards. But he needs Edgin's help, because the only way he can attune to it/disable the spell guarding it is via sex magic. (Whether they're an established couple or they haven't gotten together yet.)
  • Maybe Xenk gets hit by sex pollen and Edgin has to take his virginity to save him. Maybe Edgin is the one affected, and Xenk offers because he's sworn to help others (and because it's an excuse to give in to his pining). Maybe they both get sex pollened, and they have a frantic fuck with accidental declarations of feelings - or they confess nothing during, and talk afterwards when they can think straight again.
  • If you wanted to do dom/sub, I'm fine whichever way you assign the roles. Maybe Edgin's a soft dom who just wants to encourage and praise his sub while he piles on the pleasure; sub Xenk could be kinking on dutifully obeying, or maybe he wants to escape the stresses of being a noble paladin and let Edgin take the reins. Maybe Xenk is a strict dom who wants to whip Edgin into line, or a soft dom who wants to draw out Edgin's inner goodness; maybe Edgin's a bit of a bratty sub, or maybe he's secretly desperate to please and lives for praise.
  • For omegaverse, I enjoy both alpha Edgin/omega Xenk and alpha Xenk/omega Edgin. Maybe Xenk's been suppressing his heats for a century and now, oh dear, he's going into heat and it's a big one, so Edgin volunteers to knot him. Maybe they're trapped somewhere and Xenk goes into heat and begs Edgin not to take advantage, and Edgin has to resist. Or omega Edgin goes into heat before confessing his feelings and alpha Xenk nobly resists his advances because he thinks it's just the heat talking. (But perhaps Edgin convinces him eventually!)

Edgin Darvis/Zia Darvis/Xenk Yendar

I really like the idea of Edgin getting to be happy with Zia but also with Xenk, and Zia and Xenk being happy together too. So... AU where she never dies? Maybe Edgin stays a Harper and ends up working with Xenk, and they get closer, resulting in Xenk being drawn into the established marriage?

Edgin seemed a lot softer before Zia's death - and maybe less prone to hiding his feelings - and Zia seemed very sweet and understanding, and I'd love to see what kind of dynamic they develop with kind but serious Xenk. Would love to see them being domestic in the cottage at Targos, all helping to raise Kira, or - as Edgin and Holga managed to take young Kira on the road - maybe all three of them could have glorious adventures together, making the world a better place?

  • Zia decides to take Kira and go with Edgin to the market that night. They see the Red Wizards riding to their cottage and make an escape - but the Red Wizards are still after them, so they have to take refuge with the Harpers... where a Thayan paladin promises to protect them.
  • Or maybe Edgin never stole the Red Wizards' treasure at all. He remains a Harper, and gets assigned to work with Xenk. And the more time they spend in the field, the closer they become. And Edgin keeps coming home to Zia with all these stories of amazing Xenk the paladin... and Zia is very amused and encouraging.
  • Maybe Edgin and Xenk are sent undercover together? Even as a couple? And they both pine guiltily, because Edgin is married, but what they're doing feels so real and so right... (Maybe the setup means Edgin can visit Zia some nights? Or write letters? Or maybe the whole mess of feelings only comes out when he returns home, and Zia has to sort them out?)
  • I will forever love hurt/comfort for getting together. Maybe Xenk is injured and Edgin has to take him home, resulting in Edgin and Zia nursing him back to health. Or Edgin is injured and Xenk takes him to the cottage, but stays so his healing magic can recharge - or Zia insists he stays, because Xenk is wounded too?
  • Accidental soulbond! Maybe between all three, maybe just between Edgin and Xenk, maybe it starts as Edgin and Xenk but they manage to add Zia... But due to the effect of some magical artifact, they can now hear each other's thoughts/feel each other's feelings/can't move too far from each other/all of the above.
  • I'd also love some established relationship domestic fluff, with them all living in the cottage at Targos, raising Kira together. You could delve deep into one event, or use a 4 seasons or 5(+1) format...
  • Or, as Edgin and Holga managed to take young Kira on the road, maybe all three of them could have glorious adventures together, making the world a better place?
  • Totally down with smut too! What's their first time as a three like? Do they find the mechanics of it difficult to arrange? Is there a lot of laughing as limbs get tangled? Maybe Xenk's a virgin and gets a bit overwhelmed, and Edgin and Zia have to be gentle with him. What's the sex like once they get used to it? Do they indulge in some double penetration? Or maybe one of the guys goes in the middle, both penetrating and penetrated? Do they have some kinky fun? Maybe one (or two) domming the other(s)? Three people means lots of possibilities!

Simon Aumar/Doric

I love how soft Simon gets around Doric and I'd love to see her showing a softer side to him in return. (I do love Doric's spikiness though.) And I love that over the course of the film, she was very interested every time Simon's competency was shown or discussed - she was always into him, she just had this one dealbreaker, and then he fixed it! (Well, maybe he didn't entirely fix it: I love Simon having more confidence, but it might be nice to see him struggle a little - with Doric encouraging him, now she's convinced of his capability.) Does Doric have a competency kink?

Both of them have angsty pasts: Doric as a tiefling rejected by her parents, who's visibly an outsider wherever she goes; Simon as a sorcerer trying to live up to his family's long legacy of wizardry. Plus, as a half-elf, wherever he was raised, he was probably too human for the elves and too elven for the humans. As they get to know each other better, it'd be great to see them open up to each other about these things.

Maybe their courting is awkward at first, possibly hampered by Simon's tendency to break things or fall over, but I absolutely believe they're a good match and would love to see a happy relationship grow between them.

I tend to imagine Simon is a virgin, due to all his awkwardness at romance, and considering how disliked tieflings are Doric might be one too. But maybe she has some experience, and confidently reassures a nervous Simon.

  • Simon seems to be homeless when Edgin and Holga find him in Triboar. Does he move in with Doric? Is it strange for him, being a half-elf among elves instead of among humans? Is Doric nervous and unsettled about taking this step in their relationship? Or maybe it's comfortable and easy - or they decide to go adventuring (with the party?) and the road becomes their home. Would love some domestic fluff for them too, as they navigate daily life and find happiness together. Cooking together, going shopping, changing the bedclothes, just relaxing by the fire...
  • They both have family angst; maybe that comes to the fore when Simon runs into his wizard father, or has to work with a cousin - or asks Doric to attend a family reunion with him. I imagine he's not just a descendant of Elminster Aumar, but the sole sorcerer in a whole family of wizards. Does seeing the origins of Simon's lack of confidence help Doric understand (and support) him better? Does it help her open up about her own past more? Would love to see them bond over the experience and have some quiet, tender moments.
  • Maybe a "five times" format of their dates going hilariously wrong... or very right.
  • Or about Doric using her wildshaping/owlbear form to look after Simon. Protecting him in battle, carrying him when he twists his ankle, keeping him warm when they get trapped during a snowstorm, letting him nap on her back after he spends all night researching magic for their quest...
  • Going undercover as a married couple not only forces them to rely on each other to keep up their story and acquire the artifact/info/thing they came to get, but gets them thinking about the next stage in their relationship.
  • Simon's wild magic spectacularly misfires and now they've swapped bodies/developed a telepathic soulbond/can't be more than five feet from each other without causing pain. Doric had barely settled into their tentative relationship, and this unexpected intimacy makes her feel very vulnerable - but despite his awkwardness, Simon is still soft and kind with her.
  • Considering Doric's connection to nature, maybe them appreciating the natural world together? Doric introducing Simon to the wonders of Faerun, telling him the names of plants and which bird makes which call? Gazing at the stars, finding a beautiful hidden waterfall, marvelling at the spring flowers, strolling through autumn leaves? Maybe a sequence, with each scene showing one of the four seasons? Or maybe just them having some slightly risky public sex, fucking against a tree?
  • Exploring and discovering each other's bodies and how different they are. Does Simon unsubtly start trying to steal Doric's tiefling warmth when it's cold? Does her tail communicate her feelings? Does she like wrapping it around his arm? Are her horns sensitive? They both have pointed ears - do the tips wiggle when they're embarrassed, or aroused, or orgasming?
  • They've been courting for a while, and now they're ready to lose their virginities together. Is it a sweet and tender discovery of intimate pleasure, maybe a little awkward but very much enjoyed? Or is it very enjoyable but also very awkward - maybe they struggle to find a good position, or get Simon's cock in, or maybe he comes really quickly and is a bit embarrassed about that... frantically licking her out until he's ready for a second round of penetration? Or maybe Simon is so nervous he can't get it up at all, and Doric has to soften her sharp tongue to reassure him? Maybe she calms him down enough for them to get going - or maybe they explore non-penetrative pleasure, or it becomes a night of cuddles and emotionally vulnerable conversation.
  • Doric pegs Simon. Maybe she suggests it and he's hesitant but ends up enjoying it, or he nervously requests it and she's happy to oblige.
  • If you wanted to do dom/sub, I'm fine whichever way you assign the roles. Maybe Doric takes the lead because she loves to give Simon the pleasure he feels awkward about asking for, or because she enjoys the power; sub Simon might feel safe with someone else in charge, or have a praise kink and love the encouragement when he obeys. Maybe Simon is an awkward, nervous dom who's worried he's not dominant enough (or that even a bit of dominance is too much) and Doric is enthusiastically encouraging him.
  • For omegaverse, I imagine Simon as an omega and Doric as either an alpha or some rare fourth designation. Maybe Simon's worried about the intimacy of sharing his heat and Doric is reassuring and practical. Maybe Simon goes into heat before they've had sex for the first time and Doric's concerned about taking his virginity like that. Maybe Doric goes into rut and Simon's nervous but excited about the way she comes onto him.

Simon Aumar/Edgin Darvis

I love how Edgin is absolutely convinced of Simon's potential badassery (he has a mental list of all the times Simon's magic worked!) and how he's determined to make Simon believe it too - and this, for some reason, involves touching Simon's face a lot. Simon is awkward and sulky in the face of this, even though he's perfectly willing to trust Edgin and follow his lead in other areas - maybe Simon is pining, and can't let himself believe that Edgin cares about him, or is worried about opening his heart? Depending on the situation, maybe Edgin feels too weird about the age difference, and doesn't want to take advantage of Simon... until something pushes them together.

I enjoy this as a romantic ship, but also as FWB/casual sex, or charming Edgin gently looking after nervous Simon in a dubcon scenario - especially if Simon is a virgin, which I tend to assume is true considering how awkward he is. Could be post-canon, or a missing scene any time from Simon first joining Edgin's crew of thieves up to Korinn's Keep.

(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)

  • Simon's frustrated by his lack of romantic success and thinks he'd find it easier if he had more experience, so he asks Edgin to help him practise flirting/practise kissing/take his virginity. Or Edgin stumbles on Simon reading an Instructional Manual, and giving him tips turns into some hands-on demonstration.
  • Edgin tries to wingman for Simon in a tavern, but the more he extols Simon's virtues the more it seems like he shouldn't be trying to fix Simon up with someone else at all...
  • Simon's wild magic backfires and now, whoops, they've swapped bodies. Or can only tell the truth. Or have developed a telepathic soulbond, and now Edgin can hear all of Simon's nervous worries... and sexy thoughts.
  • Their quest requires travelling by boat - and Simon turns out to get really seasick. Charming Edgin insists on staying with Simon as he (tries not to) vomit, rubbing his back, maybe trying to distract him from the nausea - but under Edgin's bluff cheer, there's a real edge of tenderness.
  • A heist goes pear-shaped and they end up squeezed into a closet together. A very small closet. Or the heist is about to go pear-shaped, and Edgin's quick-fire patter to keep the mark bamboozled somehow results in him pretending to be dating Simon. Or maybe grabbing him for a kiss to avoid the Bad Guys.
  • Or their quest requires two of the group to go undercover as a couple - and it needs Simon and Edgin's unique skills in particular. Maybe they just decide to go for it, and Edgin gently helps Simon through some tender dubcon.
  • Huddling for warmth - whether in a cave, a snowy cabin, or in a cold inn room. Maybe it's a night of simmering feelings, mutual pining, and trying to hide their arousal... or maybe they just agree to some casual sex to keep warm.
  • They have to share a bed at an inn, and mutual horniness results in them masturbating next to each other. Or giving a "helping hand", or grinding on each other. Or just admitting that they're attracted to each other, resulting in some guilt-free anal. Maybe they become friends with benefits to relieve stress before their heists?
  • Simon gets hit by sex pollen and Edgin's the only one willing to help him. Or maybe they're trapped somewhere, Edgin gets hit by sex pollen and Simon's the only one who can help him.
  • When Edgin goes into Harper mode and starts giving everyone orders, Simon can't help feeling a strange thrill. Does Edgin notice, and gleefully charm Simon into submitting for him? Or maybe they're having sex for another reason, and Simon cautiously suggests they incorporate that...
  • Omega Simon unexpectedly goes into heat and alpha Edgin helps him through it, possibly reluctantly because of the age difference or because he thinks Simon deserves the soft romance his heart desires and not a caring but platonic fuck. Or maybe Edgin can see that even though Simon's into him, he's not ready to have sex, and so he just gently comforts Simon while resisting his scent.

Simon Aumar/Xenk Yendar

In the film, Simon mostly seems to get on Xenk's nerves (being sarcastic! destroying the bridge!) but he's not doing it on purpose and I really think if they spent more time together they could become good friends - and then fall in love. Despite his initial jealousy, Simon is eager for Xenk to stay at the end. Under his sarcasm, his awkwardness, and his occasional sulkiness, Simon is rather sweet and kinda adorable. And once you see past his stern manner and paladin morals, Xenk is kind and actually sorta awkward too.

I like the idea that they're both a bit dorky, deeply interested in niche subjects, in a way none of the others understand. But I think they could find some common ground. But maybe Simon worries that Xenk doesn't like him, or doesn't respect him? And Xenk isn't great at social interaction, so he might not realise Simon feels that way, or might not know how to explain that he actually does care. Potentially some angst there, but I'd also love some fluff - or some hurt/comfort, or smut. I can see them both as virgins (due to Simon's awkwardness and Xenk's duty/angst) and maybe worries about intimacy would result in mutual pining - or an intense experience during some dubcon, with Xenk gently trying to look after nervous Simon, even as Xenk himself is a bit overwhelmed.

(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)

  • Xenk tries to teach Simon some combat skills so he can defend himself if he runs out of spell slots/his wild magic misfires/he gets cuffed again. This involves a lot of Xenk physically correcting Simon's stance/hold, or maybe Simon has a clumsy moment and trips onto Xenk – who catches him in his strong arms... or maybe they end up lying on the floor.
  • They have to share a bed for Reasons. Xenk is nobly keeping as much distance as possible. But it's freezing, and Simon keeps making sad noises about being really cold...
  • Or maybe Xenk has a nightmare during the night, and Simon unexpectedly finds himself trying to comfort a man he thought could deal with anything.
  • Or maybe Simon gets injured. Does he collapse, and Xenk catches him? Maybe Xenk has to gently hold Simon while he heals his wounds. Or maybe Xenk can't heal Simon - because he's run out of spells/he's been cuffed - and all he can do is gently comfort Simon till he gets his magic back. Maybe they're even locked in a cell at the time, waiting to be rescued.
  • Or their quest requires travelling by boat - and one of them is really prone to seasickness. Does Xenk nobly sit with Simon as he (tries not to) vomit, gently rubbing his back, assuring him there's no shame in it? Or is awkward Simon the only one there to comfort vulnerable Xenk, resulting in some unexpected tenderness?
  • A strange artifact accidentally creates a soulbond between them. Now they're stuck hearing each other's thoughts, feeling each other's feelings, and/or unable to move more than a few feet apart. Maybe Simon's worried all his insecurities are about to be revealed to the perfect Xenk Yendar, only to discover the paladin has a few insecurities of his own. Maybe the forced proximity brings them together, despite Simon's sarcastic comments about it. Maybe the spell means they'll get really sick if they don't have a certain amount of skin-to-skin contact every day... or if they don't have sex every day.
  • A quest requires two of the group to go undercover as a couple - and it needs Simon and Xenk's unique skills in particular.
  • The two of them get hit by sex pollen and the resulting fuck is amazing/awkward/both at once.
  • They're trapped alone together in a dungeon/cave/snowed in cabin when omega Simon goes into heat. Alpha Xenk nobly volunteers to ease his suffering. With his dick.
  • Or maybe alpha Xenk can tell that omega Simon is scared or not ready for sex, and instead nobly resists his incredible scent all night. Maybe while reassuring him and gently holding him close.

Simon Aumar/Doric & Edgin Darvis/Xenk Yendar & Kira Darvis & Holga Kilgore

Ah, I have so many feelings about these characters. Awkward, sarcastic Simon; spiky, principled Doric; charming, angsty Edgin; stern, caring Xenk; sweet, earnest Kira; gruff, secretly caring Holga... I love the found family that the party develop over the course of the film, and really want to see Kira and Xenk included in that as they all adventure together. I'm looking for banter, tender feelings, protectiveness, and/or the interplay between everyone's different personalities. Fluff, angst, action-adventure and hurt/comfort are all great!

I nominated this with the romantic pairings included as I didn't want them to be explicitly platonic, but it's totally fine if the shippiness is mostly implied - this is basically my "found family" group request. Of course, if you want to give some focus to either (or both) of the romantic ships included, that's very welcome! I just want to see all six of them together and how they interact.

  • Domestic life when your home is on the road. Sitting around the campfire, eating, joking, telling ghost stories or stories of past adventures, Edgin singing and the others joining in (or not). Exploring the market in a new town, sampling the local food, drinking in a tavern. Banter, comfortable friendship, soft found family feels.
  • Dungeon delving! The party solve puzzles, overcome obstacles, get hopelessly lost and bicker about it, etc. Maybe they accidentally spring a trap, again. Maybe they reach the end and get their hands on the artifact - and it doesn't do what they expected!
  • Their next quest requires some or all of them to go undercover - at a fancy party, in a cult, among an order of monks or wizards, in a fort full of soldiers, etc. What backstories do they come up with and who's good at playing the role? Does Simon get nervous and tongue-tied? Is Doric more comfortable infiltrating as an animal? Does Xenk have a vow of honesty and have to be very careful about his phrasing? Does Holga begrudge the whole idea? Maybe Kira turns out to have inherited some of Edgin's bardic skill at performance. Maybe Edgin's role requires him to be very sensible and serious and he struggles to stick to it. (What if he's undercover as a paladin?) Is this a tense and dramatic episode that takes all their skill to pull off, or a comedy of errors that they somehow scrape through?
  • Or another heist! It's for a good reason so Xenk's on board - but maybe has no idea how to pull it off. Maybe Kira's growing up and wants to be given more responsibility than before. Does Simon's wild magic cause chaos? Maybe they experience one obstacle after another and Edgin's cheerful determination is what pulls them through - or maybe all their skills slot together perfectly and they pull it off with aplomb. I'd love to see everyone getting to be clever and competent (loved that Holga was the one to think of putting the portal on something and sneaking it into Forge's vault!)... but I'd also love a humorous take on them repeatedly almost failing.
  • They bump into a member of someone's family, either because they're working on the same quest or because that person has sought out their help. What feelings does it stir up: is it awkward, angsty, a second chance at something good? Do the party learn more about their friend because of it? Maybe Simon struggles with working alongside his powerful wizard father or cousin. Maybe Holga's determined to win the Elk Tribe over - or show them she's outgrown them. Or maybe they end up working with the Harpers, and Edgin has to deal with his unresolved issues there.
  • The party find out what actually happened to Xenk's family during the Beckoning Death - and how traumatic it was for him - when a spell recreates his worst memory in front of them. Or maybe he magically gets de-aged back into that little boy, and the only thing he remembers from the intervening years is how to speak Common.
  • One of them gets injured, and the others all show their concern in their own way. Maybe Xenk can heal them quickly - or maybe he's run out of spells for the day, and the group has to keep the injured person comfortable until they can be healed. Or Xenk has been cuffed, and they have to protect the injured person while also escaping from danger.
  • As the end of the film hints, Szass Tam comes after them - or sends a powerful lieutenant to exact revenge. Action, adventure, drama, and/or jokes and emotional moments, as they have to run for their lives, find an artifact that can give them victory, fight to protect each other, hide out in some cold caves, or whatever else you want to show me.

Theodore "Laurie" Laurence/Amy March

I already knew these two were endgame, but this was the first version of Little Women I consumed and it's basically the Laurie/Amy truther version, and the ship completely grabbed me. I have so many feelings about their arc: little Amy pining for her big sister's best friend, lonely Laurie slotting right into their family like a brother even as he pines for Jo... then Laurie and Amy reuniting in Europe as adults, with all those childhood years giving them such a comfortable rapport. Only now Amy is a clear-eyed woman dealing with the difficult questions of marriage, and Laurie's struggling with his heartbreak.

I love their gentle, awkward, prickly edging towards open affection - and I love that Amy is so determined to be practical, but still being swayed by her feelings. She's seen the best of Laurie and refuses to let him be his worst - after all, if she can live with unrequited love, why can't he? And I love that she refuses to surrender to her own girlish crush and accept his first flimsy suggestion of feelings - forcing them both to assess what they really want, and to come to each other afresh, in a moment of genuine emotion and honesty. And despite the loss of Beth, they seem so happy together! Laurie practically glows as he talks about Amy.

I'm fine with past Laurie/Jo as long as it was never consummated (although I got the impression in this film, it was more like Laurie had an unrequited crush, or wasn't really sure what kind of love he was feeling?). But you don't have to mention that ship at all, if you don't want to.

  • I would love some comfortable domestic moments as they settle into married life together, back home in the States. Chatting over the breakfast table, cuddling up for a cosy night by the fire, discussing whether to rearrange the furniture, or planning a society ball... You could delve deep into one event, or use a 5(+1) format.
  • Or some seasonal vibes, at any point during the year. Enjoying the flowers blooming in their garden? Having a relaxing summer picnic? Wrapping up warm for an autumn walk, or snuggling as they hold mugs of lovely hot drink? Going ice skating again, but this time it's pure fun? Celebrating Christmas with their families, or a quieter moment between the two of them during the Christmas season?
  • What happened after that kiss? A gentle and tender conversation about all their hopes? More of them comforting each other over losing Beth? Dealing with the practical questions of engagement? Laurie properly getting down on one knee, with or without a ring? So many possibilities!
  • That must've been a long boat journey back from Europe. Does one of them suffer from seasickness? Some hurt/comfort for that would be great. Or maybe they were trying to sneak little moments together between looking after sickly Aunt March. Maybe, as a newly married couple, they spent most of the trip together in their cabin...
  • Or maybe some hurt/comfort when Amy has a dream about Beth and wakes up crying, and Laurie gently comforts her. Or maybe Laurie feels like he has to hide his own grief about Beth, because that pain really belongs to Amy - but he was practically the Marches' brother. Maybe Amy could help him to open up and they could console each other together.
  • We see them with their baby daughter at the end of the film. I'd love something about Laurie doting on pregnant Amy. Maybe she's exhausted or she's got morning sickness, or maybe he just likes fussing over her. But does he have any worries about being a good father, after losing his own? Or some pure fluff would be good. Introducing the baby to the Marches or to Laurie's grandfather? Playing with her, teaching her to walk or talk, reading a bedtime story?
  • I'd love to see Amy and Laurie consummating their marriage on their wedding night. Is virgin Amy determined to be practical about it all, or is she overwhelmed by the tenderness and vulnerability? Does she even know what sex is, or does Laurie have to gently guide her through it? Seems like it probably isn't Laurie's first time - but is his first time with someone he loves. Is he overwhelmed by the intimacy of it?
  • Or maybe some smut once they're an established couple and have a thorough knowledge of each other's likes and bodies.
  • Laurie says that Amy calls him "my lord" - do they indulge in some gentle power exchange, with sub Amy happily surrendering to dom Laurie? Maybe she finds it really relaxing to be tied up or pinned down, or just told what to do. Maybe Laurie finds it exciting to take control and loves giving her pleasure.
  • Or maybe Amy is the dominant one! She definitely seems to be the one in charge outside the bedroom - maybe that extends to sex too. Does she like to make him obey, even kneel? And is he eager to be a good boy, or does he need a little firmness before he'll fall in line?
  • Maybe determined Amy is even an alpha, with Laurie a little shy about being a male omega. But even if she's never been told about sex, her powerful instincts crave intimacy with her new husband - and her heart aches to be gentle with him. But does he find being knotted overwhelming, especially during a heat? Or maybe Laurie is an alpha, finally growing into his role with Amy's gentle encouraging - both of them discovering the sweet pleasure of true mating? Maybe they love the giggly frenzy of her heats - or the softer domesticity of nesting and scenting.

Theodore "Laurie" Laurence & Amy March & Beth March & Jo March & Meg March

I love big families, with all the complex intertwined relationships that result, and I love how Laurie blended into that. The girls are all so different but so similar at the same time, and I love the contrasts and parallels between them - like how they all have a creative outlet, but in different spheres. And I had so many feelings about them drawing lonely orphan Laurie into that, turning him into almost a brother figure. The March household seemed so cosy, always so full of homely activity and love - even when they were arguing. I definitely got the impression Laurie was pining to be part of their family - and to stay part of it as they grew up. And who could blame him? All the fun of putting on plays, going ice skating, secret meetings in the attic, matching keys for a private letterbox, celebrating Christmas together... And all four sisters seem fond of Laurie - even shy Beth was happy for Laurie to hug an arm around her when they were preparing to send Marmee to nurse their father.

You don't have to feature them all equally, I'm fine with there being more focus on one or two of them - as long as they all get to take part. Laurie's unrequited crush on Jo and Amy's (currently) unrequited crush on Laurie are fine to include in the background, but please keep the focus on the sense of them as a group. And you're welcome to have Laurie's grandfather, Marmee, and/or Mr March etc appear as well!

  • This is such a good canon for seasonal moments. We've seen them at so many points during the year, partaking in appropriate activities - you could return to/expand on any of those, or show me a whole new one. Picking flowers or making flower crowns, dancing in a light spring rain, visiting a lake on a hot day, drinking hot cocoa, eating toffee apples, ice skating, snowball fights or building snowmen... Fluffy and happy, soft and tender, food or sport or relaxation, I just crave more of this. You could delve deep into one instance, or use a 4 or 5(+1) format.
  • Also, Christmas. I love Christmas. You could go historically accurate here, but I won't notice if you aren't. Baking and eating gingerbread, buying or making presents for each other, playing charades, wrapping up warm to go carolling, cuddling up together by the fire with a hot drink... Do they decorate a tree, in the Marches' house or in Laurie's? Maybe Laurie gets a mistletoe kiss on the cheek from each of the girls - or the girls give them to each other. Those scenes of them eating Christmas dinner are just so cosy.
  • I'd love to see them putting on a play. Any (or all) of the process - arguing about roles, practising scenes, doing rewrites, making or trying on their costumes, a dress rehearsal, and/or the final performance... I love the creativity, the bustle, the taking on of roles, the opportunities for banter/bickering or for hilarious mistakes. Marmee suggested Laurie would have to fight Jo for the male roles - does Jo win? Does Laurie have to play a girl? Can Beth be urged into a small role or does she stick to providing music?
  • Some mild hurt/comfort would be great. Could be four of them all (fighting to) look after one at the same time, or maybe four rotating through shifts of keeping the hurt one company. Maybe one of them slipped while walking in the snow? Got caught in the rain and now has a chill? Or a fever, and now keeps having nightmares? Hurt their foot while dancing (again)? The full aftermath of Amy falling through the ice? Maybe Laurie is sick and can't leave his house, so the girls bring all their bustle to his bedroom? I'd just love to see them all being soft and concerned (or affectionately providing noisy distractions).
  • Maybe something a little angstier - Laurie just as he's getting to know them, pining to be part of their family? Already included, but worried he'll always be an outsider? Maybe specifically worrying that shy Beth won't open up to him - or Beth as she nervously gets to know him, trying to be brave, forging that affectionate bond? Or maybe two of the sisters have had another little argument about something, and are worried they won't make up - maybe one (or more) of the others could help them patch it up?
  • I'd love a Hogwarts AU for them. Maybe Laurie has just transferred from another school, and meets the March sisters on the train? Or he and Jo meet while playing/trying out for Quidditch? Or he bumps into one of them somewhere else? No preference on who's in which house. I just think the cosy vibes of the film would translate well to these five eating in the Great Hall, exploring Hogsmeade, doing homework in the library, causing shenanigans in lessons, sneaking out at night, or sneaking Laurie into places he's not meant to be... (Also if you move the era to modern-ish Hogwarts, feel free to have Jo be a trans boy!)

Robert Bruce/Elizabeth de Burgh

I love the gentle, tender romance that develops between these two. Robert is clearly attracted to Elizabeth from the moment they meet, but out of respect for her autonomy or for his first wife, he refuses to claim his "marital rights". Elizabeth is resigned to her duty, striding into her new life despite the flicker of fear over physical intimacy - and when she discovers that sex is off the table, it gives her space to fall in love with him.

I love the quiet, sometimes awkward moments of daily life, encountering each other in corridors and repeatedly saying goodnight - as well as Elizabeth developing a strong bond with Marjorie. But I also love the bolder, more political moments, from the ceremonies to Elizabeth displaying her political nouse and swearing herself to him. They match each other on every level - ruling together, laughing together, supporting each other's needs, whether big or small - and their love is deep and genuine. I was so pleased that she was the one to invite him to bed, and that he waited for her without question, resulting in a tender and passionate consummation. And I love that - despite her being a determined, intelligent queen and him being a complex, canny leader capable of brutality - when they're laughing and kissing they feel more like awkward, earnest teenage lovers embarking on innocent first love. If you want to try and capture all those nuances, you're very welcome to - but I'd be happy with something that highlights just one aspect, whether fluffy or dramatic or smutty.

You're very welcome to include Marjorie, or their other historical children, as well as references to Robert's relationship with his first wife. Also, don't feel you need to be historically accurate at all - the film clearly isn't! If you do happen to know about the period, feel free to use that knowledge to expand on the film, though please don't change anything established by the movie. But you're also welcome to just make up details that "feel right".

  • I'd love some post-canon fluff, as they get to enjoy truly being husband and wife. Does Robert keep giving her thistles? Do they keep teasingly saying goodnight? Do they sneak quiet moments together between their duties, giggling or kissing in a corner? What about waking up together, eating together, cuddling in front of a roaring fire, falling asleep together? How do they mark the passing of seasons?
  • Or something more dramatic, with them dealing with the realities of ruling a country. Listening to petitioners, trying to solve their issues. Making alliances and laws. Deciding on fair taxation, and rebuilding Scotland after so much destruction. Dealing with the Scottish nobles. Any of it, all of it. And supporting each other - intellectually, emotionally, physically - giving advice but also cuddling after an exhausting day.
  • They already have Marjorie, but Robert would need a male heir - and they did have more children in real life. Anything focusing on that - from planning and hoping, to anticipating the baby once Elizabeth is pregnant, to dealing with things like morning sickness, or worry that Elizabeth will die like Robert's first wife Isabella... to their joy and excitement once the child arrives safely, or the realities of raising them. Robert and Elizabeth are both adorable with Marjorie, so I'd love some more cuteness as their family grows.
  • Although they have separate bedrooms, maybe they accidentally fall asleep together after some frantic lovemaking - and one of them has a nightmare. Robert saw so much horror on the path to affirming his rule, and Elizabeth spent so long in that cage hanging from the castle walls. But now they're back together, they can comfort each other over their trauma.
  • Now they're reunited, they have the opportunity for their second time - or third, fourth, fifth... Show me these two exploring physical intimacy together, whether it's a tender coupling while they're still discovering each other's bodies, or a passionate night years down the line.
  • It's fourteenth century Scotland, so there might not be established knowledge of kinks - but that doesn't mean they can't have fantasies that they explore together. Maybe they both have a praise kink. Maybe Elizabeth loves to feel her husband's big strong body holding her down. Maybe, now he's assured of her willingness, Robert wants to continue his rule into the bedroom - or maybe after a tiring day of politics he wants to lay all that down and let Elizabeth take control. Maybe a discreet craftsman provides them with a strap-on so they can try pegging. Just the two of them happily being kinky together.
  • Omega Elizabeth goes into heat, and her alpha husband Robert tends to her needs. From the intense physical sensation and intimacy of knotting, to the raw instinct of breeding kink, they're going to fully indulge their urges. But maybe outside of heats, that just involves Robert quietly scenting Elizabeth, or him fondly helping her nest.

Nicholas Devereaux/Mia Thermopolis

This is such a great example of enemies to lovers. I love that they're kind and flirty at their first meeting, because they're immediately attracted to each other, and that even once they're enemies they can't hide that sexual tension. But their enmity is based on both seeking something only one of them can have rather than ideological differences: Nicholas seems more motivated by whether Mia's going to be a good queen and whether she really knows Genovia (and by his uncle's influence), and not a personal hunger for power. So once he's convinced of her capability (and she of his sincerity) and he gives up his claim to the crown, there's no question about whether they'd be able to find common ground.

I love both the push-and-pull of Nicholas flirting and Mia trying to resist (in the closet, by the fountain, the deleted scene in the kitchen) as well as them being soft and friendly with each other: Nicholas supporting Mia by helping with her archery, hesitantly reaching out to her in the stable after the incident with the fake snake... and the night they spend together before her wedding where we see them opening up emotionally, dancing close, and falling asleep in each other's arms. So I'd love a post-canon continuation of that as their relationship develops, or is fully established, or missing scenes while Nicholas is still living at the palace and they keep running into each other. Or maybe an AU?

I liked Andrew as a character so no bashing of him please, and it's fine to have Mia/Andrew's unromantic engagement happening in the background or to show them amicably breaking up. Also happy for Clarisse/Joe to be in the background, or for Lilly to visit again. Or cute appearances by Fat Louie the cat or Maurice the dog!

  • A collection of fluffy moments, maybe a 5(+1) times structure? Nicholas cooking for Mia, Mia's clumsiness causing minor chaos and Nicholas calmly dealing with it, quiet moments alone when the staff aren't around, lazy mornings before the pressures of the day kick in... Any cute, soft theme you like!
  • Dealing with the press or public officials now that Mia's queen. Maybe after the scandal of Mia's broken engagement and being caught sleeping in Nicholas's arms the press are even more interested in all the gossip - and the two of them have to rely on each other during a series of intense "look, we're engaged" press events.
  • Or maybe something fluffier and more humourous, with Nicholas subtly helping to support Mia at an event. Another slightly odd and inexplicably pear-based Genovian tradition? How does Genovia celebrate Christmas? What about a visit from the leader of another tiny European country? Maybe presenting a united front against Nicholas's uncle, who's trying to cause trouble for them - and Mia helping Nicholas deal with feeling betrayed?
  • Presumably they're going to need children to be heirs to the crown, so anything to do with that. Soft fluffy moments during pregnancy as they look forward to their first child - or hurt/comfort where Mia has morning sickness and Nicholas looks after her. The joys of raising their kids together: maybe Nicholas using his skill for accents to read a bedtime story while Mia's heart melts? Or maybe some breeding kink smut, as they prepare to make that baby.
  • Or is Nicholas worried that he won't be a good father? After all, his own father died when he was six, and his uncle talks about his mother in the past tense - seems like he's an orphan and was raised by his uncle. And yet Mabrey had no qualms about setting him up to catch Mia on camera, even though he knew Nicholas was in love with her. Nicholas is clearly softer and kinder than his uncle - even after telling Mia he loathes her, he checks she's okay multiple times as she climbs out of the fountain - but maybe he doesn't see that in himself? So perhaps some hurt/comfort, with Mia reassuring him he will be a good father? Or, on the same theme, hints of angst as he pines for her during missing scenes, thinking she could never really love someone like him?
  • Or some hurt/comfort for Mia! She's so accident prone, an injury could easily happen. Maybe she hurts her ankle playing badminton again, only this time she's not playing it up - and Nicholas being gentle with her makes her heart flutter in a way that's definitely not pretend. (Maybe he picks her up and carries her in his arms? We know he's strong enough to lift her!) Or another injury, just something where he has to give her soft comfort. Maybe it happens during an important event that she can't miss - so he has to stick close to her, physically supporting her while she tries to carry on. And Nicholas helps to hide her injury from everyone else, picking up as much slack as he can to appease the guests even as he worries about her.
  • I'd be interested to see how these two and their dynamic play out in other settings: steampunk AU, fairy tale AU, daemon AU, Hogwarts AU? Regency AU, where the scandal with Nicholas almost ruins her? Or Mia can't convince parliament to change the law and Nicholas has to marry her right then so she can keep the crown? Fantasy AU where they're both competing to be the next leader of a dragonrider battalion? Or still rivals for the crown, but now with magic? Or a genderswap: how does the plot change if Nicholas is Nicola, and also needs to marry to get the crown?
  • Or how would events unfold with an injection of some cracky tropeyness? Maybe Mia and Nicholas are accidentally soulbonded together and can't be more than five feet apart without it causing pain? Or they develop a telepathic link, and Nicholas can flirt with Mia 24 hours a day - at the risk of revealing all his doubts? Or Nicholas gets turned into a dog and Mia has to try and change him back before anyone - especially his uncle - realises what's happened? Or they get bodyswapped, and have to make a pact not to entirely fuck up each other's lives?
  • Mia said she's never been in love before, so is she a virgin? Would love to see experienced Nicholas slowly and gently taking her virginity - and being surprised himself at how intense and intimate sex is with a partner he loves. Do they have a short engagement and wait until their wedding night? Or do they decide to take that step before then, once they feel secure in their feelings and trust?
  • Maybe Mia's rule continues into the bedroom and she enthusiastically, if somewhat awkwardly, doms a happily submissive Nicholas. Or maybe at the end of the day she wants to relax and let him take control, so he doms her instead. Kneeling, collaring, bondage, pegging and swearing of fealty all very welcome. (Or maybe discipline or painplay? I'll be honest: when Nicholas said "you can step on my foot anytime", my brain heard "hurt me, mistress", so...)
  • Omega Mia goes into heat. Maybe they get trapped in a closet, pre-relationship, and the air's full of scent and tension - but alpha Nicholas never crosses the line, and just gently comforts her instead of taking advantage. (Maybe, against her better judgement, she lets him hold her close so she can smell his calming alpha scent.) Or maybe some enthusiastic mating and knotting once they're an established couple.

Franklin "FDR" Foster/Tuck Hansen

I love these two and the dynamic they have: working smoothly together, protecting each other in danger, happily declaring their love for each other, bantering, hanging out. They're deeply competitive but deeply loyal, though there's also a fragility to their friendship. They're such different people - smooth, flirty FDR who hides his angsty past, and earnest, romantic Tuck who's longing for love but doesn't know how to find it - but they have such an easy rapport and genuinely like each other. (Except when they don't.)

When do their declarations of platonic love turn to romantic ones - and do they even notice that change happening? Maybe they mutually pine for a while, or maybe they're already casually having sex before they realise they have romantic feelings - or the intimacy of a dubcon scenario pushes them to confess. Or show me what they're like as an established relationship! Fluff, smut, hurt/comfort or spy adventures all welcome.

Being spies, they're required to do some dark things - killing, lying, stealing - and that puts them in a bubble together, both because they can't share those secrets and because others might not understand if they did. The fact that they were both so relaxed about surveilling Lauren (and each other) suggests they're not on the same page as most people - but they are on the same page as each other. I'm fine with you acknowledging that, as a "they're fucked up in the same way, and therefore perfect together" type thing, but you're also free to ignore that thread and keep it light - this canon isn't a serious examination of what espionage does to the soul, it's a fun comedy.

  • More of them in an action situation: protecting each other, dodging bullets, parrying strikes, bantering away. Does Tuck ever remember to bring spare ammo? Does one of them knock the other out the way of danger, and they end up lying on top of each other?
  • I'd love some more of them hanging out, maybe watching a movie, playing video games, or drinking together. But this time there's a mood in the air, and something ends up happening.
  • Visiting Nana's again! Another family gathering (to which Tuck is, of course, invited) where their feelings for each other simmer until they end up confessing? Or maybe the first time FDR introduces Tuck as his boyfriend?
  • One of them gets injured during a mission, and the other one looks after them. Maybe holding them close, keeping them calm until help arrives - or helping them to walk, so they can get to safety?
  • Or they're sharing a bed for Reasons, and one of them has a nightmare about something they barely escaped - and the other one comforts them.
  • Undercover as a couple! They have to pretend to be together, and they think it'll be fine because they're already so comfortable with each other - but kissing feels far more natural than they expect, and they're not sure what to do about that. (Maybe they end up in a situation where they're expected to fuck, and they either try and fake it - or just decide to roll with it, because why not?)
  • What happened in Bangladesh that resulted in Tuck seeing FDR's cock? Was it hard at the time? And, most importantly, did Tuck touch it?
  • They both like Sade. They both know it turns FDR into Captain Horny Pants. You see where this is going.
  • While on a mission, they get dosed with sex pollen - either accidentally, or as a deliberate ploy by the baddies - and now they need to fuck. Have they been pining for ages, and this results in them confessing (but maybe not until afterwards), or does the sex itself stir up unexpected feelings - which they can't ignore?
  • Or the baddies insist they fuck or die, and they're both comfortable with fucking - but actually doing it, especially while in danger, turns out to be more vulnerable and intimate than they anticipated.
  • Maybe they have a friends-with-benefits agreement, so they can blow off steam, relax before a tense mission, while away the time when undercover... or just because sex is fun. But maybe feelings develop, and neither wants to be the one who "ruins" it.
  • Normally in omegaverse I prefer alpha/omega, but I think alpha/alpha would really work for these two - competing with each other, not wanting to back down, scents battling in the air, wrestling to see who tops. They're not built to take a knot, but maybe they'd want to prove they're tough enough to handle it.
  • But I would also be interested in alpha/omega! No preference for which is which. Maybe one of them unexpectedly goes into heat, maybe while they're undercover - and, well, what is a best friend going to do but help his buddy out? But maybe knotting is more intimate than they expect.
