Like a lot of people, I find it very easy to see Xenk as autistic: he struggles with conversation, especially wordplay and ambiguous meanings. He's got a stare sharper than his sword. He can hear people whispering ten feet behind him. He's got an intense sense of justice and a rigid sense of morality, even if "you can steal for good reasons" is maybe unusual for a paladin. The way he sympathises with Edgin's trauma is to share his own. And if the lifelong commitment of a paladin oath doesn't count as a special interest, then his infodump about the Dolblunde bridge? The guy is very into traps and puzzles, okay. And he's apparently been wearing the exact same outfit for the last 100 years. I love him and I love all of these things about him.
I can see Doric as autistic too. She's not just very honest, she's very blunt about it, and blithely barrels into rude questions like "so what value do you have now?" Maybe she doesn't realise she's being impolite, or maybe she knows and thinks politeness is neurotypical nonsense. Like Xenk, she has an intense sense of justice, and she doesn't let rules stand in the way of that. She's caring, but expresses that a bit awkwardly. She's tiny, but she walks like a two tonne owlbear. (Sometimes she is a two tonne owlbear.) Again, I love who she is and I'd love to see that interpreted in an autistic direction.
These two don't really get any focused moments between them in the film, but they seem like they'd have a lot in common. They're visibly outsiders in ways the others aren't, so maybe they would have a natural understanding - or they'd bond over the angst of losing their families because of it. Both of them take things very seriously, and I feel like they'd both have a lot of respect for the natural world. And Doric, despite her stance that humans are "hateful and selfish" and "just can't help but lie", immediately recognises just how intensely good Xenk is. I can definitely imagine them being drawn to each other.
(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)
If you want more general prompts to work their autistic selves into, I've requested this ship previously.

And I can see Simon as autistic too: he's got this awkward vibe, like maybe he's trying to get people to like him but also expects it not to work. He's sarcastic, but not always at the best times. And he doesn't seem to think that Edgin just constantly getting him to put stuff in his bag is a weird social situation? I can see him being deeply nerdy about things too. And I can see him having some kind of anxiety and/or ADHD as well. Basically he's adorable and awkward and I love him.
On a surface level, these two seem like they have opposite vibes of autism, and that could cause some friction - at least till they really get to know each other, and then I think they'd find a deep understanding, and would be able to support each other in ways they've been lacking. Between Simon's self-esteem issues and Xenk's traumatic past, they both need a little kindness - and maybe they'd know how to be soft in a way that the other one naturally feels comfortable with. But once they've loosened up and established a mutual respect, they could have fun together too - even if it's not Holga's idea of fun.

General Likes:
- Fluff. Domestic fluff. Hopeful spring vibes. Cosy autumn or winter vibes. Rainy evenings in. Lazy sunny mornings. Cooking together, eating together. Playing board games. The daily routines of travelling together longterm.
- Banter. Getting together. Established relationship. Found family. Characters showing affection in their own way. Groups amusing themselves with jokes and stories while spending every day together. Characters trusting in each other's skills. Competence kink.
- Cheek touches. Hand on the back of the neck. Hugs and cuddling. Cheek kisses. Forehead kisses. (Platonic versions welcome!)
- Holding hands. Kisses described in loving detail. Brushing fingers over lips.
- Angst with a happy ending. Hurt/comfort. Mutual pining. Repression and self-denial. Intense sense of duty or loyalty. Complicated family legacies. Self-esteem issues.
- Dreams and nightmares. Shared dreams. Prophetic dreams, dreams of future soulmate. Nightmares of past trauma.
- Truth spells. Telepathic bonds. Soulbonds, accidental or deliberate. Magical tattoos that show connections: soulmate marks, pistilverse, etc.
- Kidfic, of the canon character being de-aged type. Kidfic, of the having and caring for children type. Pregnancy, including mpreg. Pregnancy fluff: anticipating child, preparing, taking care of pregnant partner. Pregnancy angst: worrying about being a good parent, worrying about the birth (esp for mpreg). Pregnancy hurt/comfort: morning sickness, pampering partner.
- Forced proximity: stuck in a prison cell together, only one bed, trapped by a cave-in, hiding in a closet, handcuffed together, magic spell, etc.
- Sparring and combat tutoring. Character A defending character B with character B's weapon.
Hurt/Comfort Likes:
- Emotional hurt/comfort. Physical hurt/comfort. Whump. Mild hurt/comfort.
- Nightmares. Flashbacks. Crying. Staying with character B as they fall asleep.
- Impact bruises. Being manually choked. Twisted ankles.
- Stab wounds. Arrow wounds. Pulling the arrow out. Nosebleeds as fight injury. Grazes and abrasions.
- Magical torture, psychic torture, and other kinds of pain inflicted without harming the body.
- Bedside vigils. Holding injured character close. Carrying or supporting someone who can't walk. Character A catching character B as they collapse (even if character A isn't strong enough to hold them up and just helps slow their descent to the floor). Helping injured character undress, remove armour, etc.
- Seasickness. Morning sickness. "Oh no, that thing you just ate was poisoned." Vomiting in the context of hurt/comfort - the loss of control, the pain of throwing up, the vulnerability of being seen that way - whether due to nausea, induced by emetic, or induced by fingers (theirs or partner's). Not interested in the vomit itself, though fine to mention it looks/smells/tastes gross.
- Struggling through sex pollen/an omegaverse heat/etc without having sex, only giving non-sexual comfort for the symptoms.
- Premature ejaculation. Erectile dysfunction. Shame over sexual desires.
- The awkward vulnerability of comfort requiring a new level of intimacy.
- Stern/gruff characters making tiny gestures as a comforter and the comfortee understanding that significance. A comforter understanding when the comfortee only wants tiny gestures, and the comfortee being grateful for that understanding. People who are comfortable with each other giving and accepting large amounts of comfort.
- Stoic hurt characters refusing to break down. Stoic hurt characters letting it all out.
- I love both the hurt and comfort parts of the equation! Go heavy on one part and less on the other, or have an equal mix of both.
Smut Likes:
- Positions: Missionary, riding and other face-to-face positions, for eye contact and/or lots of kissing. But spooning pairs well with gentle sex, and oral fingering's probably more easily done from behind.
- Locations: In bed, in a chair, against a wall, on the floor... In the bedroom, in the living room, in an alley, in a forest, in a dungeon, on a ship, on the victorious battlefield... Basically anywhere? Yeah.
- Acts: Anal sex, including het anal. Vaginal sex. Loss of virginity. First time bottoming. Pegging. Strap-ons. Deepthroating. Oral fingering. Kissing during sex. Breastplay (fondling, gently squeezing, kissing). Nippleplay (pinching, kissing, licking).
- Moods: Gentle sex. Tender sex. Fluffy sex. Hurt/comfort sex. Sex with lots of feelings. Vulnerability and trust.
- BDSM: Dom/sub. Bondage. Pinned down. Kneeling. Collaring. Praise kink. Orgasm delay/edging. BDSM AUs.
- Dubcon: Sex pollen. Fuck or die. Sex caused by magic or to perform magic. Pining during dubcon. (Whether they admit their feelings during, after, or not at all.) Having to trust each other with the unexpected intimacy. Worrying about being so vulnerable but being kind to each other and coming out stronger on the other side.
- Size kink and stretching: Big cocks. Painful penetration. Lots of foreplay/prep, slow and gentle penetration so it isn't painful. Large object insertions. Sounding.
- Omegaverse: Alpha/Omega. Painfully big alpha dicks. Knotting. Sexy pheromones. Pheromones that communicate fear, or anger, or other emotions. Alpha pheromones that make the omega feel safe, or protected, or calm.
- An undercover situation requires them to fuck while being watched, but they successfully fake it - except the kisses, the touches, the proximity, and the "is it okay if I..." questions whispered right in each other's ears were all very real. And some of those moans didn't sound fake. Either they're so wound up they fuck for real once they're no longer being watched, or the feelings keep simmering until they boil over later.

(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)
- I think their conversational styles would blend really well. Doric speaks plainly, so Xenk wouldn't misunderstand her; Xenk speaks honestly, so Doric wouldn't get frustrated about insincerity. I can imagine them finding it easier to chat to each other than anyone else in the party - and then having deeper talks about their similarly angsty pasts.
- Parallel play as they read or draw or maintain their armour beside each other, or just appreciate the natural world together - watching a sunrise, gazing at the stars, watching a waterfall... Maybe Doric would enjoy telling Xenk all about the plants they can see and the animals they can hear - and Xenk would enjoy hearing about it?
- Or maybe Xenk would enjoy talking to Doric about puzzles and traps - ones he's seen in the past, or maybe ones they're trying to solve now. Maybe they need to retrieve a relic from an abandoned wizard's tower, which is full of traps and wards, but they've got the wizard's notebook - and Xenk and Doric go through the notebook together, figuring out all the clues and ciphers before they go inside?
- They see an injustice happening and the Autistic Sense of Unfairness is activated, and they both decide to right this wrong together.
- When Doric is getting overwhelmed, her tail starts flicking and Xenk knows it's time to steer her to a quiet place before she shuts down - and will glare at everyone to make a path. Or maybe she helps him check out of a situation, maybe by owlbearing a way through a crowd?
- They both find it calming/stimming when Xenk strokes Doric in her cat form.
- Xenk orders the exact same meal at every tavern, and makes the same food whenever it's his turn to cook over the campfire. Doric doesn't mind it, in fact she finds the routine comforting - maybe she even makes sure to harvest a few wild carrots so he'll have enough ingredients to cook it that night.
- The first time they have sex, Xenk starts to get overstimulated by all the sensory information - and they have to slow down and find their own pace together. (Maybe one or both of them are virgins? People are not lining up to date a tiefling or a Thayan.)

(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)
- Maybe it'd take them a little while to understand each other. Simon's so sarcastic, and Xenk just doesn't read that. Which could result in some humour - or mutual pining as they completely miss each other's signals. But Simon is clearly impressed by Xenk, and I think he'd want Xenk to understand him, and if he made an effort to bridge that gap I think they'd form a strong bond.
- Parallel play as they read or practise magic or maintain their armour beside each other, sitting by the campfire as the evening draws in.
- I can imagine these two both being into some niche subjects, and enjoying nerding out together. I already mentioned Xenk and his infodumping about puzzles... Maybe Simon's special interest is magic? Or maybe it's something unexpected. But once Xenk knew how important it was to Simon, I think he'd take it very seriously - maybe he'd even seek out a rare book as a present for Simon?
- When Simon is getting overwhelmed, his lower lip starts wobbling and Xenk knows it's time to steer him to a quiet place before he shuts down - and will glare at everyone to make a path. Or maybe Simon helps Xenk check out of a situation, using a burst of magical sparkles to make people move out the way.
- You know when Holga's trying to convince Edgin that it's not a betrayal to go meet Xenk, and Simon leans over to whisper explanations to Doric? I'd love to see him doing that for Xenk: explaining jokes, or references to past adventures, or social subtleties that Xenk's not aware of. Maybe Simon would find it really heartwarming if there was a time Xenk did that for him too - and Xenk would feel proud at being able to do that for Simon.
- Xenk orders the exact same meal at every tavern, and makes the same food whenever it's his turn to cook over the campfire. Simon doesn't mind it, in fact he finds the routine comforting - maybe whenever they visit a market Simon makes sure to pick up the ingredients and keeps them in his bag of holding, so Xenk will always be able to cook it for them.
- The first time they have sex, Xenk starts to get overstimulated by all the sensory information - and they have to slow down and find their own pace together. (Maybe one or both of them are virgins? Simon's so awkward about romance, and people are not lining up to date Thayans.)
- Or maybe nervous virgin Simon starts overthinking before they even get into bed - and decides to read an instructional sex manual. Maybe Xenk catches him at it - and tries to strike up an earnest and practical discussion of the matter. Does Simon just awkward his way through that? Or do they end up agreeing that they should at least start practising kissing. Lots of kissing.
