Both of them speak quite bluntly, both of them have angsty pasts, and they're both visibly outsiders wherever they go. I'd love to see a bond develop between them, with them opening up, being soft and caring towards each other. Maybe as a tiefling Doric's not had any previous romantic prospects; despite his advanced age, maybe Xenk's status as a marked Thayan and an awkward ever-wandering paladin mean he's a virgin too?

These two are so different but there's such an intriguing balance between them. And I love their banter and how touchyfeely they both are!

They respect each other's bravery and determination, but there's also a tension between them: Pike encourages Kirk's heroics yet demands he follow the rules; Kirk wants his approval, but rebellion's a habit he finds hard to give up. There's this push and pull where they're trying to find where the line should fall, and maybe that could play into how they are as a couple: not quite sure if their relationship is appropriate or it's going too far, if it's going to make Kirk a better man or screw him up more.

But I loved the scene before Asha's interview, with Amaya calmly preparing and encouraging Asha, even gently holding her hands - and for all her quirky awkwardness, Asha seemed very comfortable with Amaya even then. And that hug she gives Amaya just before the crowd proclaims her queen! What kind of relationship is going to develop between them now, as they work together to make Rosas the best place it can be?

Now that Asha's turned eighteen, it's time for her to make a wish. But it turns out to be something neither of them expected.
Amaya feels guilty about the way Asha is starting to make her heart beat faster. Asha does so much good for Rosas, and Amaya only wants good things for her - and Amaya fears the age difference means she's not good for her.
Asha saw the way Magnifico dazzled his subjects. Maybe Amaya doesn't have illusions to inspire awe, but she's still regal, she's intelligent, she has a lot of life experience - and that's definitely why Asha's feeling so dazzled by her these days.

Or maybe Amaya avoids mirrors after Magnifico's obsession with them, and the things he used them for. She's determined to grow old gracefully and not worry about her appearance. But Asha's still happy to lavish compliments - and kisses - on her beautiful queen.

Between Asha's interview and them duetting on what was basically a love song, I both shipped these two and really wanted to see them as mentor/apprentice. I love Asha's determination, her compassion, her righteousness, and her quirky goofiness. Magnifico is older, a king, a powerful sorcerer - but is he a purely evil villain powered by arrogance and a need for control, or a sympathetic antagonist crushed by the pressure of kingship and past trauma? I'd love something that grabbed either idea with both hands and committed to it fully. Apprentice AU, canon plotline and other canon divergence are all welcome. These two just had such an immediate connection over the wishes, such potential to uplift each other, yet ended up on a collision course.

Please either make this an AU where Asha is already 18, or have a time skip so she's an adult. And please either give Magnifico and Amaya an open relationship, or make it an AU where they were never a couple... Unless you're going with fully evil, corrupted by green magic Magnifico, in which case I'm fine with him cheating on Amaya and/or nonconning Asha. Otherwise, dubcon or consensual, please.

(If Magnifico's a sympathetic figure who turns to darkness, please leave the door open for redemption. But fully evil Magnifico doesn't need redemption - in fact, I'm fine with a Villain Wins AU.)
