Paul Atreides/Duncan Idaho
I was sold on these two from that very first hug. Their power dynamic is complicated and intriguing: Duncan is older, stronger, a more skilled warrior, and Paul's combat tutor - but Paul is the heir to House Atreides and capable of using the Voice. And there seems such genuine affection between them. I love how Duncan teases Paul, but also calls him "my boy"... And this exchange: "Can I trust you with something?" "Always. You know that." Omfg. I am all about the trust, loyalty and duty here - on both sides.
And Duncan really is so loyal, so devoted, willing to sacrifice everything for House Atreides. He's a deeply honourable man, dependable and trustworthy enough to be Paul's confidante - enough to be sent to the Fremen, where he develops so much respect for their way of life. With Paul, he's mostly playful, but he does have a serious side - in official meetings, and in that moment Paul prophesies his death. But maybe all of that honour and strong spirit leads him to repressing his feelings, determined to protect Paul from any pain he might accidentally inflict? Because he has twenty years of life experience on Paul, with all the scars that grants - physical and emotional.
I love how soft and sweet Paul can be - his teases with Duncan, openly hugging Thufir - but I also enjoy his harder, harsher aspects. He's determined, a survivor, even ruthless - he literally doesn't blink at that hunter-seeker, his whimpers at the painbox transmute to a steely defiance. And Paul takes his duties seriously, following Leto's example as a protective leader - but being the ducal heir also gives Paul an edge of pride, even petulance, so offended by the Reverend Mother dismissing Jessica, of forcing him to kneel. And he still has a little teenage moodiness, telling Gurney he doesn't feel like sparring. With Duncan, my main focus for Paul is him being playful and/or a serious student, and I'm happy for you to stick to that side of him - but I do love the nuance of his flaws if you want to include those.
The two of them have such a beautiful bond - but there are definite obstacles to a relationship between them. No doubt Paul is expected to make a political match, and Duncan hardly fits the image of a polished concubine. What kind of relationship do they, can they, hope to have? Maybe it starts as a mentorship-with-benefits thing, Duncan giving Paul a way to explore sex with someone he trusts - and then feelings develop. Or maybe they hide their feelings, mutually pining, convinced that the other one wouldn't (shouldn't) be interested in them. Maybe they think they can never be together - because of the age difference, or the power difference, or because Leto would never approve. And it'd be understandable if Leto was suspicious - but maybe Duncan could convince him that he'd never hurt or unduly influence Paul, or Paul could convince Leto that his feelings for Duncan are strong and genuine?
I'm mainly looking for something set just before canon, or maybe early in the first film, once Duncan returns from the Fremen - before everything goes to shit on Arrakis. DNW underage, but Paul's age is ambiguous, so I will happily assume he's over 18 at this point. But as he's still young, and there don't seem to be any people his own age around Castle Caladan, I can see Paul still being a virgin. And I'm fine with Paul having had a crush on Duncan before he turned 18, but please don't have Duncan thinking of Paul that way before he's an adult. Other than that, feel free to delve into the age difference as much as you want!
Doric/Xenk Yendar
We don't really get any focused moments between these two in the film, but Doric actually seems like the least hostile to Xenk from the beginning - ironic considering her stance on humans started as "hateful and selfish" and "just can't help but lie"... but then Xenk and his ridiculous paladin goodness are so obviously the opposite of that! If Xenk joined the party for further adventures, I like to imagine they'd become good friends, and then fall in love (maybe after mutually pining). Or maybe just gently looking after each other during a dubcon scenario.
I love Doric's combination of a sharp tongue with her moral integrity and intense environmental concern, and how that contrasts and blends with Xenk's stern intensity, his awkward ways, and his own intense sense of justice and goodness. They're both visibly outsiders in ways the others aren't, so maybe they would have a natural understanding - or they'd bond over the angst of losing their families because of it. And between their outsider status and Xenk's sense of duty, I tend to imagine they're both virgins.
(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)
Edgin Darvis/Doric
While trying to recruit her, Edgin was definitely using all his charm (although not in a sexual way) but Doric seemed utterly immune to it. I loved the tender moment when Edgin was sitting on the rock on the beach: his little smile as she walked over, the way she gently patted his shoulder and he patted hers in return, and she smiled back. Maybe his charm would be more welcome now they have a genuine connection, or maybe she'd be the one to instigate it.
I love that Doric is so committed to doing good and looking after nature, but that she doesn't let the rules stand in her way. And she has a very sharp tongue, in contrast to Edgin's silver one. Edgin thinks of himself as a thief and a lawbreaker, and is maybe trying to pretend he doesn't enjoy doing good as much as he actually does. He uses humour and a charming mask to hide his pain, but Doric absolutely doesn't fall for it - even if she'll be soft when he finally lets himself be vulnerable. But is she prepared to be vulnerable in return? I'm happy for this to be either a romantic ship, or casual sex/FWB/Edgin gently looking after Doric in a dubcon scenario, especially if her tiefling status means she's still a virgin.
(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)
Edgin Darvis/Forge Fitzwilliam
I love that Forge genuinely cares about Edgin, wants good things for him, enjoys spending time with him... and yet will quite happily ruin Edgin's life if it enriches his own. And he doesn't see any contradiction in that! That's so deliciously complicated.
Meanwhile Edgin seems to have trusted Forge, not only enough to ask him to look after Kira, but to be surprised when Forge later reveals his betrayal at Korinn's Keep. All that time he had to think while spending two years in Revel's End, and Edgin never considered that the con man could have been a traitor? Is Forge that good? Is Edgin actually a bit naive? Or has Edgin always been suspicious of Forge - but thought that his own criminal talents were enough that he would spot any betrayal before it happened? And, as he didn't see it, obviously Forge hadn't betrayed him...
I'd love to see these two being flirty and charming together, whether during one of their schemes or while relaxing in a tavern. Feel free to have Forge manipulating Edgin, or Edgin not being sure if he's being manipulated or not. I'm happy with it being either a fun, angst-free ship before the betrayal, or unsettling yet hot - or Forge could noncon Edgin once he reveals his villainy. I usually assume Forge tops, but maybe he likes bottoming - or maybe the situation requires it.
Edgin Darvis & Holga Kilgore
I can't tell you how excited I was to see a canon male-female relationship that will explicitly only ever be platonic, and yet is vitally important to their lives. I love how they clearly care for and respect each other, despite being so different, and how they use their different skills to achieve their goals together.
I would be happy to see anything about the two of them, set at any point from when they first meet to after the events of the film. Fluff, angst, hurt/comfort... All of it. I just want to see them bantering, working together, protecting each other, being best friends and co-parents. I love seeing little hints of affection peeking through Holga's gruffness, and I love Edgin feeling secure enough to drop his cheerful mask. But I also love them being genuinely happy together.
Edgin Darvis/Xenk Yendar
These two have such a great dynamic. I love their banter and how they spark with each other - Xenk and his literal mind bouncing off Edgin's usual wordplay, still prompting smiles in each other, even as they clash over Edgin's thievery and Xenk's paladin ways. That contrast somehow settles to a comfortable blend, with Edgin reluctant for Xenk to leave. And I love how touchyfeely they are - Edgin in general, and Xenk with all his (offers of) handholding... Pressing his hand to Edgin's on the Harper's seal, pulling him up after saving him, their earnest handshake as they prepare to part. So much touching! And so much banter! But they also challenge each other to grow, and I'd love to see how their relationship develops after the film, with a softer friendship blossoming into romance.
Despite his 20 minutes of screentime, Edgin's narrative arc is so bound up with Xenk. Edgin's been projecting this image of a cheerful, charming leader for so long, hiding his deep trauma over Zia with quips and songs. He's focused all of his pain into hating the Red Wizards, blaming Thayans for his loss - maybe because it's easier than blaming himself. But then he meets Xenk, a Thayan so noble and innocent that it shatters Edgin's foundation. And Edgin can't even console himself with the idea that anyone in his position would've been tempted by that gold - because again, Xenk is so pure and moral, and proves that people can be better. Even makes Edgin promise to be more than a common thief, reigniting his old Harper heroism. Xenk is the pivot point of Edgin's growth and healing.
Xenk's own angst is mostly implied, a subtext to the fascinating details we get. He's a paladin, a holy warrior, so strict in protecting others - but he's also a Thayan, a hated outsider, visibly marked by necromantic magic. I love the tension in him being both blessed and cursed. Does Xenk feel the need to be the perfect paladin to balance out the terrible opinions people have about Thayans? Once people have accepted his cursed nature, do they tend to place him on a pedestal, glorifying him as a legendary paladin instead? He glides away from the crowd's praise after saving that catbaby; his retort to Edgin's anti-Thayan sentiment is not to defend himself, but to speak of other Thayans, innocents turned into monsters. Does he think of himself as a monster? But Xenk is so kind and caring, risking himself to save Edgin - and so stern and serious, rigidly sticking to his moral framework. Does he feel bound by his duty, by his paladin vows - even to the point of repressing his own wants, needs and hopes? Does he feel he has to earn his own humanity, by so harshly rejecting his own partially undead nature, by being such a paragon of virtue? Does Xenk feel like he can't be less than perfect? Maybe his insistence that Edgin can be a better man is a reflection of Xenk's need to believe in his own goodness.
With all of those worries swirling around, these two could slip so deep into mutual pining. Maybe Xenk thinks he can't be with anyone because of his duty as a paladin, or because the Beckoning Death has left him cursed, partially undead, lacking part of his soul, etc. Maybe Edgin finds out Xenk is a virgin and assumes the guy isn't interested in sex at all. (I do headcanon Xenk as a virgin.) Or Edgin thinks Xenk's too noble and pure to want a criminal like him, or thinks Xenk wants someone more serious or more intellectual. Xenk thinking Edgin's too charming and sociable to want someone as awkward and unbending as him... I love the angsty possibilities of all this, the two of them keeping their feelings secret even as they're practically bursting with longing. And when combined with their touchyfeely natures - they must be torturing each other!
Established relationship and getting together both welcome. Edgin's lingering angst over Zia is fine. Or you could do some angst focusing on that mutual pining, or some physical hurt/comfort, or soft fluff, or fun tropes - maybe as part of a new adventure for them. If there's smut, happy for it to be vanilla or kinky, fully consensual or dubcon (sex pollen, fuck-or-die, bad guys made them do it, omegaverse heat, etc) I'm open to both autistic Xenk and/or ADHD Edgin, or neurotypical depictions. I mainly see Xenk as being sworn to justice, as a general concept, rather than a specific god - but feel free to pick one, if it suits the themes of your work. (Like, Ilmater is a great choice if Xenk is suffering, whether in whump or in sexy painplay.) And feel free to include any or all of the party!
Edgin Darvis/Zia Darvis/Xenk Yendar
I really like the idea of Edgin getting to be happy with Zia but also with Xenk, and Zia and Xenk being happy together too. So... AU where she never dies? Maybe Edgin stays a Harper and ends up working with Xenk, and they get closer, resulting in Xenk being drawn into the established marriage?
Edgin seemed a lot softer before Zia's death - and maybe less prone to hiding his feelings - and Zia seemed very sweet and understanding, and I'd love to see what kind of dynamic they develop with kind but serious Xenk. Would love to see them being domestic in the cottage at Targos, all helping to raise Kira, or - as Edgin and Holga managed to take young Kira on the road - maybe all three of them could have glorious adventures together, making the world a better place?
Kira Darvis & Xenk Yendar
I'm fine with this being either in the context of background Xenk/Edgin or just Xenk joining the party and becoming their friend. I want all the super soft platonic or familial feelings here, with maybe a bit of angst due to Kira's time with Forge.
How long does it take Kira to trust Xenk? How much of Edgin's hatred of Thayans did she pick up? Does her experience with Forge - a man she trusted because Edgin trusted him, who then turned on her - affect how willing she is to believe in Xenk's goodness, or in Edgin's declaration of Xenk's goodness? Does she no longer trust her own assessment of people? Does Xenk have to work hard to reassure her... or is his innate goodness so incredibly obvious that actually she trusts him quite quickly?
Simon Aumar/Doric
I love how soft Simon gets around Doric and I'd love to see her showing a softer side to him in return. (I do love Doric's spikiness though.) And I love that over the course of the film, she was very interested every time Simon's competency was shown or discussed - she was always into him, she just had this one dealbreaker, and then he fixed it! (Well, maybe he didn't entirely fix it: I love Simon having more confidence, but it might be nice to see him struggle a little - with Doric encouraging him, now she's convinced of his capability.) Does Doric have a competency kink?
Both of them have angsty pasts: Doric as a tiefling rejected by her parents, who's visibly an outsider wherever she goes; Simon as a sorcerer trying to live up to his family's long legacy of wizardry. Plus, as a half-elf, wherever he was raised, he was probably too human for the elves and too elven for the humans. As they get to know each other better, it'd be great to see them open up to each other about these things.
Maybe their courting is awkward at first, possibly hampered by Simon's tendency to break things or fall over, but I absolutely believe they're a good match and would love to see a happy relationship grow between them.
I tend to imagine Simon is a virgin, due to all his awkwardness at romance, and considering how disliked tieflings are Doric might be one too. But maybe she has some experience, and confidently reassures a nervous Simon.
Simon Aumar/Edgin Darvis
I love how Edgin is absolutely convinced of Simon's potential badassery (he has a mental list of all the times Simon's magic worked!) and how he's determined to make Simon believe it too - and this, for some reason, involves touching Simon's face a lot. Simon is awkward and sulky in the face of this, even though he's perfectly willing to trust Edgin and follow his lead in other areas - maybe Simon is pining, and can't let himself believe that Edgin cares about him, or is worried about opening his heart? Depending on the situation, maybe Edgin feels too weird about the age difference, and doesn't want to take advantage of Simon... until something pushes them together.
I enjoy this as a romantic ship, but also as FWB/casual sex, or charming Edgin gently looking after nervous Simon in a dubcon scenario - especially if Simon is a virgin, which I tend to assume is true considering how awkward he is. Could be post-canon, or a missing scene any time from Simon first joining Edgin's crew of thieves up to Korinn's Keep.
(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)
Simon Aumar & Kira Darvis
The party have such a great found family vibe, and I've always been interested in how that manifests between Simon and Kira specifically. It's not clear exactly how long Simon was with them before Korinn's Keep, but it could easily have been a couple of years, maybe more. I tend to imagine him filling a big brother type role for her; maybe she was even young enough that Simon's fail sorcery seemed impressive to her? Now they're reunited post-canon, she's a little older, maybe carrying some trauma but definitely still vulnerable - even if she tries to pretend otherwise. How has their dynamic changed with Simon's newfound confidence?
Simon Aumar/Xenk Yendar
In the film, Simon mostly seems to get on Xenk's nerves (being sarcastic! destroying the bridge!) but he's not doing it on purpose and I really think if they spent more time together they could become good friends - and then fall in love. Despite his initial jealousy, Simon is eager for Xenk to stay at the end. Under his sarcasm, his awkwardness, and his occasional sulkiness, Simon is rather sweet and kinda adorable. And once you see past his stern manner and paladin morals, Xenk is kind and actually sorta awkward too.
I like the idea that they're both a bit dorky, deeply interested in niche subjects, in a way none of the others understand. But I think they could find some common ground. But maybe Simon worries that Xenk doesn't like him, or doesn't respect him? And Xenk isn't great at social interaction, so he might not realise Simon feels that way, or might not know how to explain that he actually does care. Potentially some angst there, but I'd also love some fluff - or some hurt/comfort, or smut. I can see them both as virgins (due to Simon's awkwardness and Xenk's duty/angst) and maybe worries about intimacy would result in mutual pining - or an intense experience during some dubcon, with Xenk gently trying to look after nervous Simon, even as Xenk himself is a bit overwhelmed.
(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)
Simon Aumar & Edgin Darvis & Kira Darvis & Doric & Holga Kilgore & Xenk Yendar
Ah, I have so many feelings about these characters. Awkward, sarcastic Simon; spiky, principled Doric; charming, angsty Edgin; stern, caring Xenk; sweet, earnest Kira; gruff, secretly caring Holga... I love the found family that the party develop over the course of the film, and really want to see Kira and Xenk included in that as they all adventure together. (You don't need to feature them all equally - focusing on just one or two is fine!)
I'm looking for banter, tender feelings, protectiveness, and/or the interplay between everyone's different personalities. Fluff, angst, action-adventure and hurt/comfort are all great!
Henry Hart & Piper Hart
Across the seasons and as they grow, these two go through so many stages, and I'm fascinated by all of them. Intially, Piper is the screechy, volatile foil to goofy, earnest Henry - the tattletale that threatens his exciting new job, but also the anchor of his protective urges. As Henry settles into being a sidekick, he grows in confidence - more openly fond of her, more prone to flashes of mischief, even as he becomes more secretive and scarred; while Piper learns to control her outbursts, becoming more emotionally steady, settling into scathing wit and calmer demands - that playful annoyance blending to a fresh balance between them. Then as the stress and trauma really starts to weigh on Henry, his personal life suffering under the burdens of his superhero duties, Piper blooms to a new maturity - confident and polished as a popular influencer, rising as he struggles. And finally, when Piper becomes Henry's confidante at last, her forceful personality and frustrating persistence make her a practical and reliable ally - just as her brother faces his biggest tests. I have so many feelings about it all. Their sibling relationship feels so real to me - sometimes fighting, often bickering, usually weary of each other, but always backed by an unshakeable foundation of affection.
Henry's care for Piper is especially obvious and I find that adorable. For a cheeky teenage boy, he tells Piper he loves her surprisingly often - and surprisingly sincerely. Whenever Piper is threatened, Henry is immediately horrified and desperate to save her; he's a superhero sidekick who saves people every day, but Piper is the one he's most consistently (and most intensely) protective of. No matter how much she gets on his nerves, when Piper really needs him Henry will leap to her defence. And when she's sad, Henry is soft and tenderly reassuring, even when he still fears her temper - his gentle talk with her at the start of JAM Session is so cute. Despite their friction, Piper really brings out his sweet side. Carefully supporting her in Spoiler Alert! Coaching her basketball team! Guiding her when she's sleepwalking in Holey Moley! Breaking down in Danger Games after zapping her! I just love how much he loves her, even when she makes it hard, even when his life is hard.
Obviously their parents and the wider Hart family dynamic influences their sibling relationship. The plot demands that Kris and Jake be oblivious, because otherwise Henry couldn't hide his secret life, and that neglect is played for comedy - but that undercurrent has real impact on their children's personalities. Kris and Jake are inconsistent with both affection and discipline - sometimes draconian, sometimes passive, sometimes loving, sometimes distant. Not only do they take days to notice one of their kids has vanished, but they're often absent themselves, physically or emotionally - Kris is often away, clearly cheating on Jake. Sometimes they force their kids to act like the parents. And sometimes they rise above the sitcom jokery to undeniably horrible treatment: in Charlotte Gets Ghosted, we're told they shut Henry and Piper in one bedroom, gave them food then confiscated that food, leaving them locked in together overnight, just to throw a party. The show might dance around it, Kris and Jake may frequently be amusing, but they are not good parents. Is it any wonder that Piper is so unruly, so desperate for attention, so judgemental of Henry when she grew up in that atmosphere?
Piper is such an abrasive character but I genuinely love her, even when she's being a brat. She is just always so completely herself. But under that bravado, there's a heart-tugging vulnerability - she's aching for affection, for validation, so concerned with chasing superficial status and ephemeral fame that she rebuffs her brother's earnest tenderness. I have so many feelings about that scene where Henry shows Piper his Fred Lobster shirt, so eager to display his pride in her, but she can't see the gesture as anything but deeply uncool - yet still gleefully clasps his hand when her commercial comes on. There's such a great tension in Piper worshipping the cool hero Kid Danger while dismissing Henry as a tragic dork - and it's only when she learns his secret that she can really understand and appreciate the whole person her brother is. And I love the bond they develop after that - it's so good to see them just hanging out and drinking soda together in Remember the Crimes. But even before that, while Henry is mostly the one showing affection, Piper does have her moments - like offering to invite her friends so he can throw a cooler party. And whenever he comforts her and she opens up to him, that shows how deeply she trusts him. Who else in her life has earned that? And she might not know it, but he's also the person she'll eagerly go to bat for - jumping into the firing line to help Kid Danger in Spoiler Alert, Stuck in Two Holes, Diamonds are for Heather, The Great Cactus Con... and even moreso once she joins the team. Their relationship is tender, messy, supportive, challenging, ever changing, always strong - I love all of those aspects separately, and in combination, at every stage we see across the years.
This show often has its characters behave callously for comedic effect - being dismissive, ignoring hurts - and I'm fine with a little of that. But ultimately I want to feel that they care about each other, even if Piper is being bratty - or Henry is frustrated with her. Likewise I'm fine with comedic portrayals of their parents, ignoring the dark subtext there, but you're also welcome to depict Kris and Jake as neglectful and/or emotionally abusive. (Up to the level of Charlotte Gets Ghosted, or thereabouts; I'd prefer it not be unrelentingly dark though, as I think it's important that Kris and Jake can be affectionate at other times, even if the better periods are only implied.) But I DNW any mention of young Piper's crush on Kid Danger, even as a joke; please pretend that never happened. Platonic affection is great though - from casual "love you!"s, to meaningful ones, to holding hands, cheek kisses or forehead kisses, hugs or cuddling - there's some of that in canon, but you're welcome to push it further. Even Piper trying to soothe an injured Henry, or Henry carrying an injured Piper in his arms - you can go harder on the hurt than Nickelodeon could, but please no gore or anything really terrible happening, especially to young Piper. As well as hurt/comfort, I'd love some fluff, or angst with a happy ending, or canon-typical adventures. I just want more of Henry and Piper being siblings.
Henry Hart/Ray Manchester
Whatever's going on here, these two are clearly more than hero and sidekick. They can't keep their hands off each other - touching shoulders, clutching wrists, hugging - and they're both blase about Henry climbing across Ray's body. They're completely on each other's wavelength, always quipping and egging each other on. They're a team, they're in their own world, separate from everyone else and special to each other. They literally say "I love you"! The shippy vibes start ridic and just continually escalate, it's unhinged. So many times I've paused to go "wait, did they really" - and yes, they really. None of this was an accident. By the Danger Force era, it might be played for laughs, but it's clearly not a joke. Henry and Ray is framed as a romance and we're meant to see it.
The first episode says Henry is completely average, but he's clearly so much more. He's charming, though often goofy. He's not a genius, but he's adaptable and quick on his feet. He's sweet and caring, though sometimes smug. And he's brave, even self-sacrificing, giving up his childhood to be Kid Danger - willing to give his life for Ray. Plus, like, you've seen grown up Henry, right? Holy shit, no wonder Ray drools all over himself.
Ray is weirdly likeable, though he's immature, arrogant, volatile and selfish - often oblivious or thoughtless, but rarely malicious. I'd prefer a "jerk with a heart of gold" interpretation; I don't want him taking advantage of Henry on purpose. When crunchtime comes, he will put others first - before Henry threw him off that blimp, Ray was insistent he'd be the martyr. And under that manchild veneer, I think there's complexity lurking. After being densitised at eight years old, Ray's father isolated him for superhero training. Does that mean he has difficulty relating to anyone outside of a hero-rescuee structure? Does being so removed mean he struggles with empathy? Maybe it explains why he's so afraid of ageing - he doesn't want to admit that the childhood he never had is over - and why his scale of what's appropriate for a teenage sidekick is so, well, inappropriate.
This show often has its characters behave callously for comedic effect - being dismissive, ignoring hurts - and I'm fine with a little of that. But ultimately I want to feel that they care about each other, so please have them be kind if the problem is serious. (This applies to Charlotte, Jasper, Schwoz and Piper too - and you're welcome to include any of them. Though it's fine to depict Henry's parents as neglectful and/or emotionally abusive. Please don't include Piper's crush on Kid Danger though.) My favourite villains are Drex, Dr Minyak, Jeff, and Kyle, but feel free to invent your own villain instead, if relevant. And you're welcome to have them menacing Henry - I love how much he gets held up by his throat - or to use the implication that Drex/Ray had a thing.
I don't want Henry and Ray getting together before Henry is 17 (though it's fine if Henry has feelings before that) and I don't want them having sex before Henry is 18 (though kissing is welcome). Ray reflexively calling Henry "kid" is fine, even during sex, as long as it's clear Henry is an adult - though if it is during sex, I'd expect Henry to disapprove. (I'm not looking for ageplay or agekink here.) But I'm fine with acknowledging there are unhealthy aspects to their relationship, and the age difference, though I don't want it to be damaging - I want to believe they can build something positive. And if that's unrealistic, well, it's a show about superheroes. Getting together and established relationship both welcome - as are fluff, smut, hurt/comfort, angsty mutual pining, and canon-typical adventures or tropey shenanigans.
Theodore "Laurie" Laurence/Amy March
I already knew these two were endgame, but this was the first version of Little Women I consumed and it's basically the Laurie/Amy truther version, and the ship completely grabbed me. I have so many feelings about their arc: little Amy pining for her big sister's best friend, lonely Laurie slotting right into their family like a brother even as he pines for Jo... then Laurie and Amy reuniting in Europe as adults, with all those childhood years giving them such a comfortable rapport. Only now Amy is a clear-eyed woman dealing with the difficult questions of marriage, and Laurie's struggling with his heartbreak.
I love their gentle, awkward, prickly edging towards open affection - and I love that Amy is so determined to be practical, but still being swayed by her feelings. She's seen the best of Laurie and refuses to let him be his worst - after all, if she can live with unrequited love, why can't he? And I love that she refuses to surrender to her own girlish crush and accept his first flimsy suggestion of feelings - forcing them both to assess what they really want, and to come to each other afresh, in a moment of genuine emotion and honesty. And despite the loss of Beth, they seem so happy together! Laurie practically glows as he talks about Amy.
I'm fine with past Laurie/Jo as long as it was never consummated (although I got the impression in this film, it was more like Laurie had an unrequited crush, or wasn't really sure what kind of love he was feeling?). But you don't have to mention that ship at all, if you don't want to.
Theodore "Laurie" Laurence & Amy March & Beth March & Jo March & Meg March
I love big families, with all the complex intertwined relationships that result, and I love how Laurie blended into that. The girls are all so different but so similar at the same time, and I love the contrasts and parallels between them - like how they all have a creative outlet, but in different spheres. And I had so many feelings about them drawing lonely orphan Laurie into that, turning him into almost a brother figure. The March household seemed so cosy, always so full of homely activity and love - even when they were arguing. I definitely got the impression Laurie was pining to be part of their family - and to stay part of it as they grew up. And who could blame him? All the fun of putting on plays, going ice skating, secret meetings in the attic, matching keys for a private letterbox, celebrating Christmas together... And all four sisters seem fond of Laurie - even shy Beth was happy for Laurie to hug an arm around her when they were preparing to send Marmee to nurse their father.
I'd like all five of them to at least have a small appearance in the work, but you don't have to feature them all equally. Laurie's unrequited crush on Jo and Amy's (currently) unrequited crush on Laurie are fine to include in the background, but please keep the focus on the sense of them as a group. And you're welcome to have Laurie's grandfather, Marmee, and/or Mr March appear as well!
Nicholas Devereaux/Mia Thermopolis
This is such a great example of enemies to lovers. I love that they're kind and flirty at their first meeting, because they're immediately attracted to each other, and that even once they're enemies they can't hide that sexual tension. But their enmity is based on both seeking something only one of them can have rather than ideological differences: Nicholas seems more motivated by whether Mia's going to be a good queen and whether she really knows Genovia (and by his uncle's influence), and not a personal hunger for power. So once he's convinced of her capability (and she of his sincerity) and he gives up his claim to the crown, there's no question about whether they'd be able to find common ground.
I love both the push-and-pull of Nicholas flirting and Mia trying to resist (in the closet, by the fountain, the deleted scene in the kitchen) as well as them being soft and friendly with each other: Nicholas supporting Mia by helping with her archery, and the night they spend together before her wedding where we see them opening up emotionally, dancing close, and falling asleep in each other's arms. So I'd love a post-canon continuation of that as their relationship develops, or is fully established, or a missing scene while Nicholas is still living at the palace and they keep running into each other. Or maybe an AU?
I liked Andrew as a character so no bashing of him please, and it's fine to have Mia/Andrew's unromantic engagement happening in the background or to show them amicably breaking up. Also happy for Clarisse/Joe to be in the background, or for Lilly to visit again. Or cute appearances by Fat Louie the cat or Maurice the dog!
Kat/Rufus
Literal black cat/golden retriever couple! Well, okay, golden labrador. But these two are adorable and they have such soft, fun chemistry. I love how aloof, dismissive Kat slowly warms up to Rufus as she learns to set her prejudices aside and enjoy who he really is - and how she becomes a more sincere, dependable, affectionate figure herself, that harshness and scheming melting to an intelligent and practical ally. Most of her feline traits blend with being a human teenager better than Rufus's canine ones - but I think it's cute when she lets the weirder ones shine through.
Rufus is so earnest and enthusiastic, and he's open about his interest in Kat right from the beginning. But his worries about driving her away cause him to mask his doggy urges - a pointless endeavour when Kat knows his secret all along. It's only when he lets his actual personality shine - his bravery, his loyalty, his goofy joy - that he wins her over for real. Not only is dropping the pretense healthier for both of them, but indulging their animal traits together is when they become most supportive and comfortable - they think they're opposites, but they actually fit together perfectly, understanding each other in a way neither the humans nor the other animals in their lives do. I love them playing in the yarn shop together: proof that they can connect and have genuine fun as a couple. Kat rubbing her cheek on Rufus's shoulder and purring is so cute, likewise Rufus's flustered moment near the end when Kat turns back into a girl in his arms. Even if their animal behaviours look objectively odd on human teenagers, I find the sincerity of it really appealing.
These movies both fully indulge the wackiness of the premise, but also allow the characters to have grounded and realistic feelings about the events, and I love that combo. But feel free to lean towards the silliness for some comedic fluff, or to focus on their emotions for something angsty or hurt/comfort. (I'm not a fan of embarrassment humour, but luckily the other kids love the doggy hijinks and Rufus seems to be immune to embarrassment anyway - so if you stick to that vibe, it should be fine.) No sexual content please, even implied, even if they're aged up and in human form. But closed-mouth kissing as humans is fine, and holding hands, cuddling, hair stroking, etc. Also fine with dog Rufus licking Kat's face and/or cat Kat grooming Rufus. Please don't have either one of them get stuck as an animal forever though, and no references to their animal lifespans either. But feel free to include Manny, Paige, Mr and Mrs Garcia, and so on, and background Manny/Paige is welcome as well.
Manny Garcia & Rufus
I didn't expect to get so invested in their friendship but I have so many feelings about them. Rufus is so incredibly earnest, a real bundle of enthusiasm and joy as he soaks up all these newly possible experiences. The way his doggy traits translate to his human form make him an adorable oddball - it's so strange to see a teenage boy pleading for treats, nuzzling into scritches, lighting up when he sees a ball... but he's so intensely genuine about expressing his feelings that it all becomes sweet. He's also keen to pick up human ways, to keep the ruse going, but he's so irrepressibly canine that he's contantly doing the "wrong" thing - but his sincerity always makes it the right thing, at least with his favourite people. He's playful, affectionate, brave, and loyal - Rufus is a very good boy, even when he's not very good at being a boy.
Manny is the straight man to Rufus's weirdness, but he has some goofy humour of his own, a quieter kind of charisma, and he's brave and practical in the face of danger. And he has a touching vulnerability about his social position, with his insecurities leading him to hurtful words - but he's not too proud to admit his flaws, quickly apologising when he sees he was wrong. He's not a dazzling figure like Rufus, but Manny is sweet and likeable. And, let's be honest, pretty patient with Rufus's relentless energy.
These two clearly love just hanging out, playing together, spending time together. Under their unusual dog-owner dynamic, there's a strong emotional connection - one that surpasses species. Rufus is completely about Manny: he's found his best friend and he's all in on that. When he turns into a boy, Rufus uses that to gain more time with Manny, to support him in his social struggles. When he becomes the centre of attention, Rufus soaks it up - and sends it all back in Manny's direction. He's so loyal that the idea of disloyalty doesn't even exist for him. It's just so dog. But there is a sharp edge to Rufus's intense affection: he's so hungry for Manny's attention that it must be wearying sometimes. And Manny is in the impossible position of needing to maintain discipline with a pet that has opposable thumbs, no verbal filter, and puppy dog eyes that are somehow even bigger in human form - but despite the canine whirlwind of chaos, Manny is desperate not to lose any part of what they have, tearfully begging Rufus to be alright when he thinks the dart hit him.
I love how these movies both fully indulge the wackiness of the premise, but also allow the characters to have grounded and realistic feelings about the events. Feel free to lean towards the silliness for some comedic fluff, or to focus on their emotions for something angsty or hurt/comfort. (I'm not a fan of embarrassment humour, but luckily the other kids love the doggy hijinks and Rufus seems to be immune to embarrassment anyway - so if you stick to that vibe, it should be fine.) I'm also interested in the tension between the two ends of that spectrum: some doggy traits are objectively weird when Rufus is in boy form, and Manny could easily find those interactions both awkward and tenderly affectionate - like stroking Rufus's hair to comfort him even if he's a boy. I'd love to see Manny hesitantly indulging those things, embracing some of Rufus's lack of shame, letting them find meaningful connection in it. But please, no sexual content (even implied), nothing about Rufus's doggy lifespan, and don't have him be stuck as a dog forever. Feel to include Manny's parents though, and background Manny/Paige and Rufus/Kat are both welcome!
Benedict Bridgerton/Lestat de Lioncourt
Bridgerton (TV)/Interview with the Vampire (TV 2022)
I saw this nominated for Battleship and was fascinated by the idea. Benedict is so sweet, earnest, full of creativity, and exploring his libertine side. Lestat is an unabashed hedonist, a veil of charm over sheer violence, but also a true lover of the arts. And they're both canonically bisexual! I feel like their personalities would collide in interesting ways. Seems like they could easily meet too. Maybe they'd appreciate some culture together, or maybe just have some intense casual sex. I think there's a lot you could explore here.
Please don't have Lestat turn Benedict into a vampire or do anything really bad to him - but blood drinking and a general sense of restrained danger are fine!
Henry Hart/Phoebe Thunderman
Henry Danger (TV)/The Thundermans (TV)
I love both of these characters and I thought the official crossover was so much fun - these two had a great vibe together. And Henry was canonically into Phoebe! Obviously sixteen-ish Phoebe wasn't interested in Henry when he was a tiny little fourteen-year-old... but are you really gonna tell me she wouldn't rethink that stance when she sees very grownup Henry and his chiselled jawline? Maybe something would spark if they met again in their twenties - or maybe even Henry's late teens, if they kept in contact after the crossover and developed a friendship, and Phoebe really got to know him.
Being superheroes is clearly common ground, but I think their personalities would blend really well too. Phoebe is an eager do-gooder, a born hero; Henry is earnest and caring, brave to the point of self-sacrifice. She's an academic overachiever with geeky tendencies - and he might not be so great in school, but he's got a sharp mind, and he's definitely dorky. They're both a little goofy, even if they might pretend otherwise, and I think they'd make each other laugh. And they both have younger siblings that annoy the shit out of them, but who they love anyway.
But maybe there'd be a little tension about their difference experiences of superhero life: Phoebe grew up in the warmth and shelter of her superhero family, mostly dealing with normal teen troubles with a layer of superpower shenanigans, given real training and becoming a hero when she was older; while Henry was out there fighting supervillains on the regular, exposed to that violence and trauma from the age of thirteen, lying to his family and missing so much school he couldn't graduate. I think they'd approach things from opposite perspective and that could be fascinating. But maybe they could also use those foundations to help each other - with steady Phoebe soothing Henry's scars, or seasoned Henry calmly guiding Phoebe through a big threat.
A romance between them would be great, but I'd also be interested in a casual sex scenario. As she's a couple years older (and he was a late bloomer) I doubt Phoebe would show much interest in Henry before he's seventeen or so - but you can set it any time after that, in Swellview or Hiddenville, or Dystopia, or Newtown, or Secret Shores, or a new place altogether. Feel free to include any of Henry and/or Phoebe's friends and family, and you're welcome to create your own supervillain or use one from either canon.

Smut Likes:
- Positions: Missionary, riding and other face-to-face positions, for eye contact and/or lots of kissing. But spooning pairs well with gentle sex, and oral fingering's probably more easily done from behind.
- Locations: In bed, in a chair, against a wall, on the floor... In the bedroom, in the living room, in an alley, in a forest, in a dungeon, on a ship, on the victorious battlefield... Basically anywhere? Yeah.
- Acts: Anal sex, including het anal. Vaginal sex. Loss of virginity. First time bottoming. Pegging. Strap-ons. Deepthroating. Oral fingering. Kissing during sex. Breastplay (fondling, gently squeezing, kissing). Nippleplay (pinching, kissing, licking).

Having to trust each other with the unexpected intimacy. Worrying about being so vulnerable but being kind to each other and coming out stronger on the other side.
- Size kink and stretching: Big cocks. Painful penetration. Lots of foreplay/prep, slow and gentle penetration so it isn't painful. Large object insertions. Sounding.
- Omegaverse: Alpha/Omega. Painfully big alpha dicks. Knotting. Sexy pheromones. Pheromones that communicate fear, or anger, or other emotions. Alpha pheromones that make the omega feel safe, or protected, or calm.
- An undercover situation requires them to fuck while being watched, but they successfully fake it - except the kisses, the touches, the proximity, and the "is it okay if I..." questions whispered right in each other's ears were all very real. And some of those moans didn't sound fake. Either they're so wound up they fuck for real once they're no longer being watched, or the feelings keep simmering until they boil over later.
Narrative Prompts
- One of my favourite tropes for these two is sparring and combat training. The film implies that Paul's sessions are usually with Duncan - but we never got to see one! And there's so many ways you could tackle it. From the comfortable familiarity of those regular meetings, to the banter as they test each other's skills, to the physical proximity as they spar, or as Duncan presses close to guide Paul through the right positions for a new move... Maybe Paul tries a difficult move and slips, injuring himself, and Duncan gently looks after him. Maybe Duncan pins Paul to the floor or to a wall, teasing him about losing a bout, only to discover Paul's intense physical reaction. Maybe Duncan accidentally calls Paul a "good boy" and stirs something in him. Maybe Duncan is pushing Paul, with some exercises or a strenuous bout of sparring, and the physical effort makes Paul coregasm - and the awkward aftermath leads to some confessions. Or maybe they just get to enjoy some soft, honest chats as they take a break, sip some water and recover their breath?
- I love the whole concept of Paul's prophetic dreams too. We know Paul foresaw Duncan's death - how many times did he dream that before he told Duncan? How many times after? It seems like Duncan already understood Paul's prophetic ability. When did Paul reveal that? What kind of dream prompted it? Did he ever have a different kind of prophetic dream about Duncan - maybe he saw himself confessing his love, and Duncan reciprocating, and then had to silently pine as he waited for that exact moment to make sure he didn't ruin it? Maybe he saw himself confessing - and Duncan rejecting him, not knowing that Duncan was repressing his own feelings so much that it would take him a while to realise, and sheepishly come back to Paul? Maybe Paul even dreamed about a kiss, or them having sex, and was desperate to believe it was prophetic and not simply his own desires...
- There are so many fun, iddy things you could do with Paul's ability to use the Voice as well. Does Duncan volunteer to let Paul practise - only to find it a far more vulnerable surrender than his usual service? Does Paul worry that he'll one day use it on Duncan without meaning to? Maybe they agree he can use it on purpose, as part of a dom/sub arrangement. Maybe Paul's struck by some kind of strange sickness that turns his own power on himself, forcing him to always answer truthfully - or to obey any command given...
- I love the idea of Duncan accompanying Paul on daytrips as well. We see him wandering the shoreline alone - but maybe when he goes further afield, Leto insists Duncan goes as bodyguard. Or Paul simply invites Duncan to accompany him? Maybe they get to relax as they picnic in a beautiful spot, perhaps by a stunning waterfall. Or they enjoy the signs of the changing seasons as they stroll through a forest. Maybe they visit some hot springs and catch a glimpse of each other naked - or don't even try to hide anything, maybe even indulge in outdoor sex in an established relationship. Or maybe a fierce storm rolls in while they're hours from home, and they have to take shelter in a cave or a little cabin - and huddle for warmth, even sharing a bed, till they can get home without the risk of getting very sick. Or maybe while they're out in the wilds, Paul slips or falls and injures himself. Does Duncan gently, playfully look after him till help arrives? Even carry Paul all the way to safety? Or maybe they take a boat trip - but one of them turns out to be seasick?
- Maybe they get to have some fun at a formal (or not so formal) Atreides party. Paul's heart racing as he sees Duncan all dressed up in uniform, beard neatly brushed and hair braided? (Maybe Paul helped him braid it.) Does Paul ask Duncan to be his partner for a ballroom dance? Maybe they laugh and press close in some more casual dancing, as Gurney plays the baliset? Maybe it's a masquerade event, and Paul indulges his fantasy and freely flirts with Duncan - but does Duncan recognise him too? Maybe Paul gets a bit drunk and starts cosying up to Duncan, who nobly insists on looking after him instead - or looks after Paul when he makes himself sick, steering him outside to a quiet spot... Or maybe the hurt/comfort is because the Harkonnens somehow poison something - and Paul is the one to consume it, but attentive Duncan realises something's wrong and gets him help... while the intensity of his own worry makes him realise how deeply he cares for Paul?
- Or maybe one of them has a nightmare, and the other one comforts him. Does Paul worry his terrible dream is prophetic? Can Duncan reassure him? Maybe Duncan is the distressed one - flashing back to a battlefield, or some other trauma. I'd love to see them being soft and vulnerable with each other.
- When Duncan reunites with Paul on Arrakis, he brings him (and only him) a present - is this one of the ways they show their affection? How many gifts has Duncan given Paul before this? How many has Paul given in return? Were they practical ones, or little luxuries - maybe tasty treats? Did they start out giving gifts as secret admirers, silently angsting away? Or has it always been a soft, fluffy thing for them? These two definitely deserve some fluff - maybe your theme could be their hugs instead, or the way Duncan calls Paul "my boy", or just them fondly teasing each other as they get to relax together.
- Maybe they've been mutually pining, repressing their feelings because they think a relationship isn't possible... and then are accidentally soulbonded together, by an ancient relic on Caladan, or some Harkonnen trick on Arrakis, or some Bene Gesserit weirdness. Now they have no choice but to stick close, experiencing pain if they step too far away, forcing them into constant proximity - even requiring them to share a bed. Or maybe it creates a telepathic or empathic link, sharing their thoughts or feelings, and they can't hide their secrets any more. Can they find a way to break the soulbond? Do they want to break it? Maybe, now that they're bonded, they think Leto can't possibly proscribe a relationship between them. Or maybe honourable Duncan refuses to take advantage, refuses to allow Paul to indulge this impossible connection when his future has such different duties in it - but can he deny Paul's aching heart forever? If they break the bond, does the hollow it leaves behind just mean they long for each other even more - leading them to (re)claim the intimacy they miss?
- I'd love some canon divergence where Duncan lives. Maybe Paul realises this is the moment he foresaw, and sticks so close to Duncan that he can't slip away? Maybe Paul gets there in time to dash through the closing door, and they defeat the Sardaukar together? Maybe Paul uses the Voice to order Duncan back to him? However it happens, Duncan survives too, and he joins Paul among the Fremen - their relationship growing and changing as they face those obstacles... but maybe Duncan's presence changes the outcome of all that. (I'm fine with background Paul/Chani here, but you're also free to ignore that ship altogether.)
- The feudal system of the Great Houses could translate so well to a high fantasy AU. Paul as a young prince, unexpectedly inheriting the throne when the Harkonnens assassinate King Leto? Duncan as a literal knight in shining armour? Maybe even a highly skilled dragonrider? Maybe Paul has more than prophetic dreams and the Voice - maybe he has full on magic powers, which he needs to learn to control? I just love the vibes of a fantasy setting, and I'd love to see a twist on the familiar plot - or an entirely new one.
- There aren't many (or any?) people his own age living in Castle Caladan, so Paul doesn't have that many options for dating. Still a virgin at eighteen, he decides he's ready for his first sexual experience - but he wants it to be with someone he trusts, someone experienced enough to make it good for him, someone with the tenderness to be gentle with him. Obviously he asks Duncan. Or maybe he tries a softer approach, asking for some kissing lessons first?
- Somewhere in the wilds of Caladan, or after triggering a trap on Arrakis left by the Harkonnens, one or both of them gets dosed with sex pollen. Does Duncan desperately try to suppress the urges, even as he gets sicker and sicker, reluctant to let innocent Paul help him - however earnestly Paul offers? Maybe Paul is the one afflicted, and he clings to Duncan through the vulnerable cure - or maybe tries to hide the symptoms, worrying Duncan would feel pressured to help him? Maybe he can't hide it, but Duncan is reluctant to help, unsure if Paul's urging is genuine - but he can't ignore how his boy's getting weaker and weaker. Or they both get sex pollened, and can't suppress their mutual pining any more, leading them to confess and consummate their relationship?
- Do the existing power dynamics transfer to a dom/sub relationship between them? Maybe Paul feels so safe with his tutor leading him that he wants Duncan to continue that in the bedroom, controlling his orgasms, making him kneel, tying him up, or instructing him to stay still, even collaring him... Or maybe Duncan loves to serve Paul in bed too, obeying his boy's commands, and Paul takes that responsibility seriously - even as he finds it incredibly hot.
- With all the genderfuckery of being the Kwisatz Haderach, I think Paul as a male omega could be really interesting. Does it put him in a vulnerable position, as the ducal heir? Can he control and influence his scent in unusual ways? Does he stubbornly resist the urges of his heat? Or maybe when he's due to have his first real heat as an adult, he asks commanding alpha Duncan to help him through it - or tries to ride it out alone, only to end up begging Duncan, who's reluctant to believe Paul really wants it? Does Paul have to wear a gag to stop him accidentally using the Voice? Maybe an older alpha looking after an innocent omega is much more accepted, and they get to slip happily into a relationship with fewer obstacles - and enjoy the intensity of knotting. Maybe they get to enjoy some soft domesticity as Paul nests, or Duncan calming and reassuring Paul with a hand on the back of his neck. Or maybe their scents are a distraction during sparring, especially when they're still pining.
Visual Prompts
- Sparring and combat training, maybe pressed close as their blades shimmer against the shields, or maybe a defeated Paul on the floor with Duncan leaning over him.
- A warm hug, maybe with Duncan lifting Paul from the floor.
- Fond smiles as Duncan teases Paul, maybe with a hand on his shoulder.
- Laughing and eating together.
- Paul peeling those Fremen clothes off Duncan when he returns safely.
- A gentle but passionate kiss.
- Duncan leaning over Paul, gently penetrating him.
- Paul gasping as he rides Duncan's cock.
- Duncan holding onto Paul as Paul penetrates him.
Narrative Prompts
- Doric gets injured and tries to remain stoic as Xenk heals her, even though he has to press his hands to her bare skin. Or Xenk gets injured, and can't heal himself - but Doric knows a natural remedy, and the plant grows in this area. Maybe the intimacy of the healing sparks a frisson between them, and results in a kiss.
- Or maybe Doric's injury results in her collapsing, and Xenk catches her before she hits the ground. And the way he's holding her close, looking at her with such concern, sets her heart pounding...
- Or their quest requires travelling by boat - and Xenk turns out to get really seasick. Doric sits with Xenk as he (tries not to) vomit, gently rubbing his back, softening her sharp tongue to comfort him - with her openness and his vulnerability resulting in some unexpected tenderness?
- A strange artifact accidentally creates a soulbond between them. Now they're stuck hearing each other's thoughts, feeling each other's feelings, and/or unable to move more than a few feet apart. Maybe they're mostly concerned with the practical aspects of continuing to adventure, as they search for a cure... but the forced proximity and unexpected intimacy brings them together. Maybe the spell means they'll get really sick if they don't have a certain amount of skin-to-skin contact every day... or if they don't have sex every day.
- Huddling for warmth in a cold cave, a snowed-in cabin, locked in a cell together, etc results in them kissing. Maybe Xenk is too repressed to do more, even though Doric's up for it. Maybe he'll agree to skin-to-skin contact, but only because tieflings have a naturally higher body temp. Or maybe Doric convinces him that some casual sex is the best way to keep warm, and they both have a great time.
- A quest requires two of the group to go undercover as a couple - and it needs Doric and Xenk's unique skills in particular. Is this a magical night at a ball (even a masquerade ball), where the enchanting mood sets feelings simmering? Or maybe they're sent to infiltrate a cult, and they have to rely on their trust in the dangerous situation. Do they get picked for one of the cult's rituals - which turns out to be ritual public sex? Maybe they try to fake their way through it, even as the intimate touches stir up real desire. Maybe they just decide to go for it, and gently help each other through some tender dubcon.
- While adventuring away from the others, they discover a magical grove that's slowly being corrupted. Both of them are eager to cleanse it, but then its guardians explain that the ritual magic would require the two of them to have sex.
- One or both of them gets hit by sex pollen, and there's nobody else around to help. Maybe Doric is practical and sees no reason not to have some fun together. Maybe Xenk is conflicted, wanting to help - or needing help himself - but reluctant to open up to her. But in the end he's too kind, or too desperate, to actually refuse it... even if he's a virgin.
- Omega Doric goes into heat and asks alpha Xenk to help her through it. Maybe he's a virgin and nervous about being so intimate - but he can't bear to see her suffering. Or maybe he doesn't trust her ability to consent, or neither of them is ready to lose their virginity, so Xenk just holds Doric close so she can inhale his alpha scent, offering gentle comfort till her heat subsides.
Visual Prompts
- Xenk healing an injured Doric with magic, or Doric applying some herbs to an injured Xenk's wound.
- Owlbear Doric carrying an injured Xenk, or Xenk carrying an injured Doric.
- Protecting each other in battle.
- Xenk gently touching Doric's horns.
- Doric gently touching Xenk's forehead tattoo.
- Doric standing on tiptoes to claim a kiss.
- Xenk holding Doric close.
- Doric wrapping her tail around Xenk's arm.
- Doric riding Xenk's cock.
- Xenk gently pressing his cock into Doric.
Narrative Prompts
- I'd love to see more soft moments like the one on the beach. Maybe Doric talks more about her family or about how people treat her as a tiefling, and Edgin patiently listens before reassuring her. Maybe Edgin has a nightmare about Zia while Doric's on watch in their camp, and she sits with him while he calms down. Just a gentle moment of vulnerability between them, where Edgin drops his mask - but maybe not his jokes.
- A strange artifact accidentally creates a soulbond between them. Now they're stuck hearing each other's thoughts, feeling each other's feelings, and/or unable to move more than a few feet apart. Maybe they banter about the difficulties as they search for a cure... but the forced proximity and unexpected intimacy brings them together. Maybe the spell means they'll get really sick if they don't have a certain amount of skin-to-skin contact every day... or if they don't have sex every day.
- Edgin gets injured, but luckily Doric knows of a herbal medicine that can help - and it grows nearby. Maybe the intimacy of treating him sparks a frisson between them, and she ends up giving him some sexual comfort too.
- A quest requires two of the group to go undercover as a couple - and it needs Doric and Edgin's unique skills in particular.
- Huddling for warmth in a cold cave, a snowed-in cabin, locked in a cell together, etc turns into casual sex to keep warm.
- Doric wants to lose her virginity to someone she trusts, so she asks charming, experienced Edgin to do the deed. Maybe he's initially reluctant and she has to convince him she means it. Maybe Edgin is so well-endowed that she needs a lot of foreplay and he has to be very gentle about the whole thing. But they have a great night together and Doric is glad of the experience.
- One or both of them gets hit by sex pollen, maybe while they're trapped in a dungeon and there's nobody else around. Maybe Edgin tries to resist and Doric insists she doesn't have a problem with doing it - or maybe they'll die if they don't fuck, and they're gentle with each other as they rely on their friendship to get through it.
- Omega Doric goes into heat while there's nobody else around and begs alpha Edgin to ease her suffering. Maybe he's worried that it's just the heat talking and refuses to do more than hold her close and give her his scent, resisting anything more throughout the entire thing. Or maybe she convinces him that knotting her is the most practical option and they have an intense night with no regrets after.
Visual Prompts
- Huddling for warmth.
- A comforting hug.
- Edgin cupping Doric's cheek as he kisses her.
- Doric using her tail to tug Edgin closer.
- Edgin smiling as he strokes Doric's horns.
- Doric riding Edgin's cock.
- Edgin carefully penetrating Doric.
Narrative Prompts
- One night at an inn, Edgin (or both of them) gets really drunk and they end up making out. Maybe they go to bed together, or maybe Edgin halts proceedings because he feels too guilty about Zia.
- They have some kind of friends-with-benefits situation. Maybe just to blow off some steam with someone convenient. Maybe Edgin's deeply missing Zia and needs to feel something else for a while. Maybe they genuinely like each other but they're too emotionally constipated to do more than fuck.
- Edgin has a sexy dream about Forge, maybe while he's stuck in Revel's End – whether or not he'd already noticed, or acted on, an attraction to the guy.
- They have to fake a relationship as part of some con. But they're both way too good at pretending, and the situation means their displays of affection have to keep escalating...
- They get bodyswapped. Maybe sex is the only way they can change back, or maybe they're both curious what it's like to fuck themselves.
- Forge is an omega and is really annoyed about it. The fact that Edgin's an alpha and gently helps him through his heats only makes him more annoyed.
- Or omega Edgin goes into heat and alpha Forge is happy to get laid. Whether Forge is considerate or is rougher than Edgin would like is up to you. Maybe he dubcons Edgin into accepting his knot.
- Edgin's secretly into consensual non-consent and Forge is the only person he's met who doesn't feel bad about the idea of fucking him while he begs him to stop.
- Instead of sending Edgin to the arena, Forge decides to have some fun with him - whether Edgin's willing or not.
Visual Prompts
- Drinking in a tavern together.
- Playing cards or a dice game against each other. (Possibly strip poker.)
- Forge appreciating Edgin's Harper outfit, pressing in close.
- Kissing in an alleyway, or while undercover - or surrounded by the loot they've just heisted.
- Dressed in his Lord of Neverwinter finery, Forge makes Edgin kneel.
- Forge delighted as Edgin's trapped by tentacles.
- Edgin riding Forge's cock.
- Forge pushing Edgin down into the mattress as he fucks him.
- Edgin tied to a bed as Forge leans over him.
Narrative Prompts
- Take pretty much any common trope that fandom does for romantic ships and shove these two into it, but make it aggressively platonic. They get hit with sex pollen but refuse to fuck! Telepathic soulbond but Edgin's only got a song stuck in his head! Fake relationship but Holga refuses to do more than hold hands! Omega Edgin goes into heat but alpha Holga's immune to his pheromones, and she protects him from all other alphas! etc. etc.
- Holga gets hurt and Edgin has to try and convince her to let him dress the wound. Maybe she initially tries to hide her injury. Or Edgin gets hurt or sick and Holga is his awkward caretaker, little bits of softness slipping through her usually gruff demeanour.
- "Not fortune found nor fate divine" seems to be Edgin's song of choice for cheering up Holga. Show me another time(s) when he sang it to her. Or maybe one where she sang it to him.
- Them raising Kira together, whether as a baby, a child or a teen. Teaching her to walk, teaching her to speak, teaching her life skills. Kira's milestones. Celebrating Kira's birthday. Did they ever disagree on how to parent her?
- Stuck in Revel's End together. Maybe Edgin tries to entertain Holga through the long boring days. Or it's even colder than normal and they have to cuddle for warmth. Maybe they angst together about missing Kira. Maybe Edgin braids Holga's hair for her.
- Or the other prisoners discover Edgin was a Harper and decide to punish him (with a beating or attempted noncon) and Holga has to rescue him, or prevents it from happening to begin with.
Visual Prompts
- Laughing and drinking together.
- One of them helping the other to walk.
- Huddling for warmth in Revel's End.
- Family moments with little Kira.
- Holga comforting Edgin after a nightmare.
- Handcuffed together.
- There Was Only One Bed.
Narrative Prompts
- Xenk has recurring nightmares about the Beckoning Death. Edgin comforts him after one, either because he was on watch in camp, because they were forced to share a bed, or because they're already sleeping together.
- Oh no, they just touched this magical artifact and now they have a telepathic soulbond! Does Xenk start thinking exclusively in Thayan so Edgin can't hear his pining? Does Edgin have to keep singing a song in his head so he doesn't start thinking about the way Xenk's touching him? Does the bond force Edgin to share Xenk's nightmares, and discover the true depths of his trauma? Do they end up having mindblowing telepathic sex?
- Xenk keeps finding more and more excuses to hold Edgin's hand, and Edgin is running out of reasons to refuse...
- Hurt/comfort, where Xenk can't use his healing for whatever reason. Either one as the hurt party, with the other one looking after them, burning with worry, the pining only getting worse as they give them reassuring touches, or even hold them close...
- Or their quest requires travelling by boat - and Xenk turns out to get really seasick. Charming Edgin insists on staying with Xenk as he (tries not to) vomit, rubbing his back, maybe trying to distract him from the nausea - but under Edgin's bluff cheer, Xenk's unexpected vulnerability stirs a real edge of tenderness.
- A quest requires two of the group to go undercover as a couple - and it needs Xenk and Edgin's unique skills in particular.
- Maybe they confess their feelings - and then don't have a sex for a while, because Xenk's angst means he's not ready for it. Edgin's happy to wait, and there's lots of kissing and a growing emotional intimacy, before he finally deflowers a nervous but excited Xenk with some gentle and tender sex.
- Or maybe they've both been longing so much, driven mad by all the torture of those little touches, that when they discover they're in love with each other they're both desperate to fuck.
- Xenk has found a powerful artifact he can use against the Red Wizards. But he needs Edgin's help, because the only way he can attune to it/disable the spell guarding it is via sex magic. (Whether they're an established couple or they haven't gotten together yet.)
- Maybe Xenk gets hit by sex pollen and Edgin has to take his virginity to save him. Maybe Edgin is the one affected, and Xenk offers because he's sworn to help others (and because it's an excuse to give in to his pining). Maybe they both get sex pollened, and they have a frantic fuck with accidental declarations of feelings - or they confess nothing during, and talk afterwards when they can think straight again.
- If you wanted to do dom/sub, I'm fine whichever way you assign the roles. Maybe Edgin's a soft dom who just wants to encourage and praise his sub while he piles on the pleasure; sub Xenk could be kinking on dutifully obeying, or maybe he wants to escape the stresses of being a noble paladin and let Edgin take the reins. Maybe Xenk is a strict dom who wants to whip Edgin into line, or a soft dom who wants to draw out Edgin's inner goodness; maybe Edgin's a bit of a bratty sub, or maybe he's secretly desperate to please and lives for praise.
- For omegaverse, I enjoy both alpha Edgin/omega Xenk and alpha Xenk/omega Edgin. Maybe Xenk's been suppressing his heats for a century and now, oh dear, he's going into heat and it's a big one, so Edgin volunteers to knot him. Maybe they're trapped somewhere and Xenk goes into heat and begs Edgin not to take advantage, and Edgin has to resist. Or omega Edgin goes into heat before confessing his feelings and alpha Xenk nobly resists his advances because he thinks it's just the heat talking. (But perhaps Edgin convinces him eventually!)
Visual Prompts
- Holding hands as they sit on a log together, or wander down a street, or as Xenk leads Edgin through a dark cave, etc.
- Edgin helping Xenk remove his armour.
- Xenk cradling an injured Edgin as he prepares to heal him, or Edgin cradling an injured Xenk.
- Squeezed into a small space to hide from bad guys.
- Eating together, by a campfire or in a tavern.
- Edgin playing his lute for Xenk.
- Handcuffed together.
- One cuddling the other in bed, after a nightmare.
- Huddling for warmth.
- A passionate kiss.
- Xenk tangling his fingers in Edgin's hair, while they kiss or have sex.
- One riding the other's cock.
- One gently penetrating the other.
- One of them tied to the bed, while the other leans over them.
Narrative Prompts
- Zia decides to take Kira and go with Edgin to the market that night. They see the Red Wizards riding to their cottage and make an escape - but the Red Wizards are still after them, so they have to take refuge with the Harpers... where a Thayan paladin promises to protect them.
- Or maybe Edgin never stole the Red Wizards' treasure at all. He remains a Harper, and gets assigned to work with Xenk. And the more time they spend in the field, the closer they become. And Edgin keeps coming home to Zia with all these stories of amazing Xenk the paladin... and Zia is very amused and encouraging.
- Maybe Edgin and Xenk are sent undercover together? Even as a couple? And they both pine guiltily, because Edgin is married, but what they're doing feels so real and so right... (Maybe the setup means Edgin can visit Zia some nights? Or write letters? Or maybe the whole mess of feelings only comes out when he returns home, and Zia has to sort them out?)
- I will forever love hurt/comfort for getting together. Maybe Xenk is injured and Edgin has to take him home, resulting in Edgin and Zia nursing him back to health. Or Edgin is injured and Xenk takes him to the cottage, but stays so his healing magic can recharge - or Zia insists he stays, because Xenk is wounded too?
- Accidental soulbond! Maybe between all three, maybe just between Edgin and Xenk, maybe it starts as Edgin and Xenk but they manage to add Zia... But due to the effect of some magical artifact, they can now hear each other's thoughts/feel each other's feelings/can't move too far from each other/all of the above.
- I'd also love some established relationship domestic fluff, with them all living in the cottage at Targos, raising Kira together.
- Or, as Edgin and Holga managed to take young Kira on the road, maybe all three of them could have glorious adventures together, making the world a better place?
- Totally down with smut too! What's their first time as a three like? Do they find the mechanics of it difficult to arrange? Is there a lot of laughing as limbs get tangled? Maybe Xenk's a virgin and gets a bit overwhelmed, and Edgin and Zia have to be gentle with him. What's the sex like once they get used to it? Do they indulge in some double penetration? Or maybe one of the guys goes in the middle, both penetrating and penetrated? Do they have some kinky fun? Maybe one (or two) domming the other(s)? Three people means lots of possibilities!
Visual Prompts
- Xenk protecting Edgin and Zia.
- Edgin and Zia looking after an injured (possibly unconscious) Xenk.
- All three of them trying to wrangle baby Kira.
- Taking refuge in a Harper sanctuary.
- Sharing a meal at the cottage.
- Holding hands.
- Two of them on either side of the third, kissing the middle one on both cheeks.
- Cuddling up in bed.
- One of them sandwiched between the other two as they all have sex.
Narrative Prompts
- Playing a game where Kira turns invisible and Xenk has to use his super hearing to figure out where she is. Or a board game. Or a snowball fight!
- Xenk protects Kira during a battle when her invisibility fails - or when they get separated from the others during a quest, and have to overcome obstacles to reunite with the party.
- Kira receives a minor injury (something like a graze or a small cut, nothing big please!) and Xenk is very kind and gentle as he heals it for her.
- They get captured and imprisoned together. Xenk tries to keep Kira calm and safe while they wait for the others to rescue them, reassuring her, protecting her, finding ways to pass the time, keeping her warm...
- Or Xenk gets imprisoned, and Kira uses her necklace to sneak in and tell him the escape plan. Or deliver the key to his cell.
- Is Xenk concerned about Kira's moral compass, considering she was brought up among a gang of thieves? Does he try to influence her towards goodness, the way he does with her father? Or maybe Kira is surprised by Xenk's morality, like the fact he is prepared to steal as long as it's for X reason.
- Edgin's birthday is coming up, so Xenk and Kira go shopping for presents together.
- They've been walking for hours and Kira is exhausted. Xenk gives her a piggyback. Maybe she even falls asleep up there.
- Show me how Xenk's relationship with Kira develops if he starts dating Edgin, or even marries him. She already has two mothers, a father, and had an "uncle", so I don't really see her being upset by him joining the family. But is he surprised the first time she hugs him? How long before he feels comfortable giving her a kiss on the forehead? What does she go to him for advice about? Is he the "strict" parent? Or, having not known her as a young child, is he more ready to give her responsibility appropriate to her age than Edgin and Holga, who maybe haven't quite accepted she's growing up? Or just some adorable domestic fluff about a normal day at the cottage in Targos.
Visual Prompts
- Playing a board game together.
- Xenk braiding Kira's hair for her - or her helping him retwist his locs.
- Kira has a minor injury; Xenk heals her.
- Xenk helping Kira climb a steep slope.
- Xenk reading to Kira.
- A gentle hug.
Narrative Prompts
- Soft domestic times, whether at home or on the road. Cooking together, going shopping, changing the bedclothes, just relaxing by the fire. These two need some happiness!
- They're trapped during a snowstorm and Doric turns into an owlbear, snuggling up to keep Simon warm.
- Or Simon injures himself, maybe twists his ankle so he can't walk, or gets injured in combat; Doric turns into an owlbear to carry him.
- They both have family angst; maybe that comes to the fore when Simon runs into his wizard father, or has to work with a cousin - or asks Doric to attend a family reunion with him. I imagine he's not just a descendant of Elminster Aumar, but the sole sorcerer in a whole family of wizards. Does seeing the origins of Simon's lack of confidence help Doric understand (and support) him better? Does it help her open up about her own past more? Would love to see them bond over the experience and have some quiet, tender moments.
- Doric wraps her tail around Simon's arm while they're walking along, or cuddling in bed, or having sex.
- Going undercover as a married couple not only forces them to rely on each other to keep up their story and acquire the artifact/info/thing they came to get, but gets them thinking about the next stage in their relationship.
- Simon's wild magic spectacularly misfires and now they've swapped bodies/developed a telepathic soulbond/can't be more than five feet from each other without causing pain. Doric had barely settled into their tentative relationship, and this unexpected intimacy makes her feel very vulnerable - but despite his awkwardness, Simon is still soft and kind with her.
- Exploring and discovering each other's bodies and how different they are. Does Simon unsubtly start trying to steal Doric's tiefling warmth when it's cold? Does her tail communicate her feelings? Are her horns sensitive? They both have pointed ears - do the tips wiggle when they're embarrassed, or aroused, or orgasming?
- They've been courting for a while, and now they're ready to lose their virginities together. Is it a sweet and tender discovery of intimate pleasure, maybe a little awkward but very much enjoyed? Or is it very enjoyable but also very awkward - maybe they struggle to find a good position, or get Simon's cock in, or maybe he comes really quickly and is a bit embarrassed about that... frantically licking her out until he's ready for a second round of penetration? Or maybe Simon is so nervous he can't get it up at all, and Doric has to soften her sharp tongue to reassure him? Maybe she calms him down enough for them to get going - or maybe they explore non-penetrative pleasure, or it becomes a night of cuddles and emotionally vulnerable conversation.
- Doric pegs Simon. Maybe she suggests it and he's hesitant but ends up enjoying it, or he nervously requests it and she's happy to oblige.
- If you wanted to do dom/sub, I'm fine whichever way you assign the roles. Maybe Doric takes the lead because she loves to give Simon the pleasure he feels awkward about asking for, or because she enjoys the power; sub Simon might feel safe with someone else in charge, or have a praise kink and love the encouragement when he obeys. Maybe Simon is an awkward, nervous dom who's worried he's not dominant enough (or that even a bit of dominance is too much) and Doric is enthusiastically encouraging him.
- For omegaverse, I imagine Simon as an omega and Doric as either an alpha or some rare fourth designation. Maybe Simon's worried about the intimacy of sharing his heat and Doric is reassuring and practical. Maybe Simon goes into heat before they've had sex for the first time and Doric's concerned about taking his virginity like that. Maybe Doric goes into rut and Simon's nervous but excited about the way she comes onto him.
Visual Prompts
- Smiling at each other as they sit by a campfire, maybe holding hands.
- Owlbear Doric carrying an injured Simon, or Simon helping an injured Doric walk.
- Going on a date together.
- Doric sitting on Simon's lap in cat form.
- Kissing by the light of the moon, or surrounded by flowers, or by a beautiful waterfall...
- Doric riding Simon's cock.
- Simon hesitantly penetrating Doric.
- Doric pegging Simon.
Narrative Prompts
- Simon's frustrated by his lack of romantic success and thinks he'd find it easier if he had more experience, so he asks Edgin to help him practise flirting/practise kissing/take his virginity. Or Edgin stumbles on Simon reading an Instructional Manual, and giving him tips turns into some hands-on demonstration.
- Edgin tries to wingman for Simon in a tavern, but the more he extols Simon's virtues the more it seems like he shouldn't be trying to fix Simon up with someone else at all...
- Simon's wild magic backfires and now, whoops, they've swapped bodies. Or can only tell the truth. Or have developed a telepathic soulbond, and now Edgin can hear all of Simon's nervous worries... and sexy thoughts.
- Their quest requires travelling by boat - and Simon turns out to get really seasick. Charming Edgin insists on staying with Simon as he (tries not to) vomit, rubbing his back, maybe trying to distract him from the nausea - but under Edgin's bluff cheer, there's a real edge of tenderness.
- A heist goes pear-shaped and they end up squeezed into a closet together. A very small closet. Or the heist is about to go pear-shaped, and Edgin's quick-fire patter to keep the mark bamboozled somehow results in him pretending to be dating Simon. Or maybe grabbing him for a kiss to avoid the Bad Guys.
- Or their quest requires two of the group to go undercover as a couple - and it needs Simon and Edgin's unique skills in particular. Maybe they just decide to go for it, and Edgin gently helps Simon through some tender dubcon.
- Huddling for warmth - whether in a cave, a snowy cabin, or in a cold inn room. Maybe it's a night of simmering feelings, mutual pining, and trying to hide their arousal... or maybe they just agree to some casual sex to keep warm.
- They have to share a bed at an inn, and mutual horniness results in them masturbating next to each other. Or giving a "helping hand", or grinding on each other. Or just admitting that they're attracted to each other, resulting in some guilt-free anal. Maybe they become friends with benefits to relieve stress before their heists?
- Simon gets hit by sex pollen and Edgin's the only one willing to help him. Or maybe they're trapped somewhere, Edgin gets hit by sex pollen and Simon's the only one who can help him.
- When Edgin goes into Harper mode and starts giving everyone orders, Simon can't help feeling a strange thrill. Does Edgin notice, and gleefully charm Simon into submitting for him? Or maybe they're having sex for another reason, and Simon cautiously suggests they incorporate that...
- Omega Simon unexpectedly goes into heat and alpha Edgin helps him through it, possibly reluctantly because of the age difference or because he thinks Simon deserves the soft romance his heart desires and not a caring but platonic fuck. Or maybe Edgin can see that even though Simon's into him, he's not ready to have sex, and so he just gently comforts Simon while resisting his scent.
Visual Prompts
- Edgin clasping Simon's shoulders as he gives him a pep talk.
- Bathing in a lake or hot springs together.
- Edgin cupping Simon's cheek as they kiss.
- Laughing and drinking together.
- Shit, the guards are coming - we'd better kiss.
- Edgin riding Simon's cock.
- Edgin gently penetrating Simon.
Narrative Prompts
- When they were travelling thieves, these two were living their daily lives together. Show me some of the little moments between them: eating together in a tavern, foraging for berries in the wilds, relaxing by the campfire, practising tricks - or trying them for real. Or what about the bigger milestones, like birthdays?
- Simon seems to have been homeless at the start of the film. Did he ever get invited to stay at the cottage in Targos? Does he get an invite now? Would he get to spend cosy and comfortable hours playing board games with Kira, or would she gently have to reassure a nervous Simon that he was welcome in their home?
- Now that Kira’s older and the gang are heroes, what kinds of adventures do they have together? Is she trying to figure out what class she wants to be - does she ask Simon to help her attempt magic? Do they get the chance to face a dungeon together, just the two of them, and turn out to be a great team? Maybe they get captured, and awkward Simon has to step up to reassure Kira and keep her calm, even as she insists she’s definitely too young to be afraid any more...
- Or what about an AU where Edgin left Kira in Simon’s care instead of Forge’s? I can imagine him struggling to be the protector she needs, even as their losses and loyalty bind them together.
- There are so many possibilities with Simon doing magic. Little Kira being awed by the sparkly visuals of some basic magic, giving Simon’s ego a boost? Unconfident Simon struggling with a spell, and practical Kira dropping a few words of innocent advice - which turn out to be exactly what he needed? Kira asking newly confident sorcerer Simon to teach her some spells, and see if she has the talent for it? Maybe she turns out to be magically gifted, even bursting out a spell before being taught anything, and now she needs Simon to tutor her in honing it? Maybe his wild magic causes something funny and silly to happen to them both?
- Or what about some animal transformation shenanigans? Maybe Simon accidentally turns himself into a cute animal, and Kira has to hide him/help him change back. (Maybe she can’t help cooing over how soft his fur is, and Simon’s melting of embarrassment but can’t help enjoying the pettings.) Maybe Simon accidentally transforms Kira instead, and desperately tries to change her back before Edgin or Holga find out - or before Kira’s gleeful excitement causes too much chaos!
- Did Kira ever use her invisibility necklace to tease Simon? Does she, like her father, ask Simon to carry things in his bag of holding for her? Maybe she doesn’t, but he delights her by always having what she needs in there - or at least a few snacks.
- Kira spent two years with Forge and without Edgin and Holga, and that’s something that can leave a shadow. Simon has struggled a lot with his family legacy, and I like the idea he’s the sole sorcerer in a family of brilliant wizards. Maybe they could have a soft moment as they have a serious discussion about their families?
Visual Prompts
- A young Kira smiling and gasping in awe as Simon demonstrates some sparkly magic.
- Simon braiding Kira's hair for her.
- Laughing as they play games at a faire.
- Simon hugging Kira in a dingy cell.
- Playing a board game or card game together.
- Kira laughing and Simon baffled as he pulls an odd and unexpected object from his bag of holding.
- Chatting together by the campfire.
Narrative Prompts
- Xenk tries to teach Simon some combat skills so he can defend himself if he runs out of spell slots/his wild magic misfires/he gets cuffed again. This involves a lot of Xenk physically correcting Simon's stance/hold, or maybe Simon has a clumsy moment and trips onto Xenk – who catches him in his strong arms... or maybe they end up lying on the floor.
- They have to share a bed for Reasons. Xenk is nobly keeping as much distance as possible. But it's freezing, and Simon keeps making sad noises about being really cold...
- Or maybe Xenk has a nightmare during the night, and Simon unexpectedly finds himself trying to comfort a man he thought could deal with anything.
- Or maybe Simon gets injured. Does he collapse, and Xenk catches him? Maybe Xenk has to gently hold Simon while he heals his wounds. Or maybe Xenk can't heal Simon - because he's run out of spells/he's been cuffed - and all he can do is gently comfort Simon till he gets his magic back. Maybe they're even locked in a cell at the time, waiting to be rescued.
- Or their quest requires travelling by boat - and one of them is really prone to seasickness. Does Xenk nobly sit with Simon as he (tries not to) vomit, gently rubbing his back, assuring him there's no shame in it? Or is awkward Simon the only one there to comfort vulnerable Xenk, resulting in some unexpected tenderness?
- A strange artifact accidentally creates a soulbond between them. Now they're stuck hearing each other's thoughts, feeling each other's feelings, and/or unable to move more than a few feet apart. Maybe Simon's worried all his insecurities are about to be revealed to the perfect Xenk Yendar, only to discover the paladin has a few insecurities of his own. Maybe the forced proximity brings them together, despite Simon's sarcastic comments about it. Maybe the spell means they'll get really sick if they don't have a certain amount of skin-to-skin contact every day... or if they don't have sex every day.
- A quest requires two of the group to go undercover as a couple - and it needs Simon and Xenk's unique skills in particular.
- The two of them get hit by sex pollen and the resulting fuck is amazing/awkward/both at once.
- They're trapped alone together in a dungeon/cave/snowed in cabin when omega Simon goes into heat. Alpha Xenk nobly volunteers to ease his suffering. With his dick.
- Or maybe alpha Xenk can tell that omega Simon is scared or not ready for sex, and instead nobly resists his incredible scent all night. Maybe while reassuring him and gently holding him close.
Visual Prompts
- Xenk hugging a worried Simon.
- Shyly holding hands.
- Xenk gently kissing Simon.
- Cuddling in bed after Xenk has a nightmare.
- Looking at an Instructional Sex Manual together.
- Giving each other handjobs.
- Xenk riding Simon's cock.
Narrative Prompts
- Domestic life when your home is on the road. Sitting around the campfire, eating, joking, telling ghost stories or stories of past adventures, Edgin singing and the others joining in (or not). Exploring the market in a new town, sampling the local food, drinking in a tavern. Banter, comfortable friendship, soft found family feels.
- They get ambushed by a Red Wizard/gnolls/bullywugs/whatever. Roll initiative! The party has to band together to protect each other and get out of there.
- Dungeon delving! You don't have to cover the entire quest (unless you want to), I'd be excited for a single scene where they solve a puzzle, overcome a trap, get hopelessly lost and bicker about it, etc. Or maybe they accidentally spring a trap, again. Or they get their hands on the artifact and it doesn't do what they expected!
- It's time for Insert Seasonal Festival! Who loves the traditions, who hates them, who's never heard of them? Is it celebrated differently in Triboar than in Thay, among the Elk Tribe compared to the wood elves? Maybe someone eats too much, maybe someone hates the taste of the traditional food. Maybe someone's really good at the traditional game - or really bad at it. Maybe someone's excited to celebrate the day in a new way, or maybe seeing everyone celebrating it in a different way makes them homesick. An excuse for soft fluff, silly shenanigans or a bit of angst.
- Or it's someone's birthday! Who is it, how old are they, what presents do they get? Do they love birthdays, do they hate them, have they tried to keep it secret?
- Simon's wild magic misfires and causes chaos. You can either pick something from the official list or come up with something suitably comedic/dramatic.
- They arrive in a town that has a potato shortage and must go on a Quest to find a potato for Holga.
- Edgin knits presents for everyone. They're a bit lumpy, but they're made with love.
- Any/all of the magic users trying to teach Kira how to do magic.
- Doric sitting on laps as a cat, or providing a big warm bundle to cuddle up to as an owlbear.
- The party find out what actually happened to Xenk's family during the Beckoning Death - and how traumatic it was for him - when a spell recreates his worst memory in front of them. Or maybe he magically gets de-aged back into that little boy, and the only thing he remembers from the intervening years is how to speak Common.
- One of them gets injured, and the others all show their concern in their own way. Maybe Xenk can heal them quickly - or maybe he's run out of spells for the day, and the group has to keep the injured person comfortable until they can be healed. Or Xenk has been cuffed, and they have to protect the injured person while also escaping from danger.
Visual Prompts
- Sitting around a campfire together: laughing, joking, telling stories, Edgin playing his lute, and/or eating together.
- Helping each other to cross a trapped dungeon floor.
- Huddling for warmth.
- Protecting each other in battle.
- Enjoying a meal and a drink in a tavern.
- Exploring a new town together.
- Enjoying a festival together.
- Helping each other put on disguises as they prepare to go undercover.
- All helping to look after one of them, who's injured.

Visual Prompts
- Piper taking a selfie of them as they grin, pose, pull faces and/or hug each other.
Narrative Prompts
- This show is already full of tropes - bodyswap! time travel! mind control! - so it's perfectly suited to other kinds of hijinks. Maybe Ray and Henry touch something in a supervillain's lair that accidentally soulbonds them. Or the villain's plan involves magically handcuffing them together. Or Henry and Ray need to go undercover again - this time as a couple. I love the way these two banter, their comfortable rapport, how they casually touch each other constantly - so some fluffy fun that throws them into another wacky scenario (officially shippy edition) and lets them chew on it would be great.
- For something angstier, these two could easily slip into mutual pining. Despite Ray's engagement joke, their fierce bond clearly started as platonic - and broaching a change when they start getting butterflies might not be easy. Henry acts both jealous and affectionate, but Ray might not read that as flirting when it's so different to how Henry behaves with girls he likes. And Ray's declaration in Secret Beef that he thinks of Henry as a younger brother probably looms large in Henry's memory every time Ray calls him "kid", even if Henry no longer sees a child in the mirror. Plus, Ray doesn't seem big on self-reflection, so maybe he hasn't even realised what he's feeling - yeah, he knows he loves Henry, but that doesn't mean he's twigged that he loves Henry. So maybe poor Henry is suffering with the fear Ray will never see him that way - and oblivious Ray blunders past every desperate hint, even as they're practically dating anyway. What finally clues them in? Henry breaking down in tears, or being seriously injured, or a supervillain's truth serum...?
- But getting together doesn't guarantee the end of the angst. Their age difference screams forbidden relationship - even Henry's parents are unlikely to celebrate him dating the guy that's been his boss since he was thirteen. And Henry can hardly explain their bond without revealing their secret identities. They can't necessarily be open about it as Captain Man and Kid Danger either. Yeah, half their villains already call them boyfriends - but if the media realises it's not a joke, they're gonna be intrusive at best. At worst, they could turn on Captain Man, labelling him a predator. And Ray's wonky calibration of weirdness means he might not even see the problem - leaving Henry to be the one begging to hide their love to protect Ray... As if poor Henry's teen years weren't stressful enough!
- On the other hand, I'd love to see them happily if hesitantly launching their relationship, maybe once Henry's in his twenties and is more visibly an established adult. Show me the first time they kiss in public, or hold hands as they stroll down the street, or go on a romantic date to a restaurant. Or the fifth time, or the fiftieth... Or simply cosying up at home - bantering through breakfast, bickering about chores, draping across each other on the couch.
- Ray might be indestructible, but Henry isn't. I'd love Ray bumbling through some comfort for hurt Henry, tender feelings sparking in a vulnerable situation. Maybe Henry is just achey and bruised, and Ray applies some pain-relief gel like he did in The Rock Box Dump - but this time he's rubbing it into Henry's bare chest. Maybe it's a more serious injury, and Henry's whimpers set Ray's pulse skittering as he tries to protect his teenage sidekick. Maybe a mission exposes Henry to a toxin that causes intense nausea, and Ray sits with him till it wears off, providing both backrubs and tactless jokes as Henry tries not to vomit. Or maybe a villain invents some kind of pain pollen - and it even works on Ray, leaving Henry to awkwardly comfort his mentor instead.
Visual Prompts
- Casually snuggled on the Man Cave couch or a Man's Nest giant beanbag, checking their phones, or sharing popcorn as they watch a movie, or maybe napping.
- Laughing and leaning on each other as they grab some fast food after a mission, still in their uniforms.
- Ray cradling an injured Henry close, or carrying him in his arms.
- A tender kiss.
- One of them carefully penetrating the other.
- One of them riding the other's cock.
- Henry using his forcefield for kinky bondage purposes in the bedroom.
Narrative Prompts
- I would love some comfortable domestic moments as they settle into married life together, back home in the States. Chatting over the breakfast table, cuddling up for a cosy night by the fire, discussing whether to rearrange the furniture, or planning a society ball...
- Or some seasonal vibes, at any point during the year. Enjoying the flowers blooming in their garden? Having a relaxing summer picnic? Wrapping up warm for an autumn walk, or snuggling as they hold mugs of lovely hot drink? Going ice skating again, but this time it's pure fun? Celebrating Christmas with their families, or a quieter moment between the two of them during the Christmas season?
- What happened after that kiss? A gentle and tender conversation about all their hopes? More of them comforting each other over losing Beth? Dealing with the practical questions of engagement? Laurie properly getting down on one knee, with or without a ring? So many possibilities!
- That must've been a long boat journey back from Europe. Does one of them suffer from seasickness? Some hurt/comfort for that would be great. Or maybe they were trying to sneak little moments together between looking after sickly Aunt March. Maybe, as a newly married couple, they spent most of the trip together in their cabin...
- Or maybe some hurt/comfort when Amy has a dream about Beth and wakes up crying, and Laurie gently comforts her. Or maybe Laurie feels like he has to hide his own grief about Beth, because that pain really belongs to Amy - but he was practically the Marches' brother. Maybe Amy could help him to open up and they could console each other together.
- We see them with their baby daughter at the end of the film. I'd love something about Laurie doting on pregnant Amy. Maybe she's exhausted or she's got morning sickness, or maybe he just likes fussing over her. But does he have any worries about being a good father, after losing his own? Or some pure fluff would be good. Introducing the baby to the Marches or to Laurie's grandfather? Playing with her, teaching her to walk or talk, reading a bedtime story?
- I'd love to see Amy and Laurie consummating their marriage on their wedding night. Is virgin Amy determined to be practical about it all, or is she overwhelmed by the tenderness and vulnerability? Does she even know what sex is, or does Laurie have to gently guide her through it? Seems like it probably isn't Laurie's first time - but is his first time with someone he loves. Is he overwhelmed by the intimacy of it?
- Or maybe some smut once they're an established couple and have a thorough knowledge of each other's likes and bodies.
- Laurie says that Amy calls him "my lord" - do they indulge in some gentle power exchange, with sub Amy happily surrendering to dom Laurie? Maybe she finds it really relaxing to be tied up or pinned down, or just told what to do. Maybe Laurie finds it exciting to take control and loves giving her pleasure.
- Or maybe Amy is the dominant one! She definitely seems to be the one in charge outside the bedroom - maybe that extends to sex too. Does she like to make him obey, even kneel? And is he eager to be a good boy, or does he need a little firmness before he'll fall in line?
Visual Prompts
- Dancing together.
- Soft smiles as they sit together by the fire.
- Laurie unbuttoning Amy's painting apron.
- Amy drawing Laurie again - clothes optional.
- Walking arm in arm as they take a stroll - maybe past some spring flowers, through some autumn leaves, or among the snowdrifts...
- Eating a picnic together.
- Laurie comforting Amy after a dream about Beth.
- Cuddling their baby daughter together, or a moment as she grows up - learning to walk, reading together, playing in autumn leaves...
- A tender kiss - or a passionate one.
- Undressing each other.
- Laurie gently penetrating Amy.
- Amy riding Laurie's cock.
Narrative Prompts
- This is such a good canon for seasonal moments. We've seen them at so many points during the year, partaking in appropriate activities - you could return to/expand on any of those, or show me a whole new one. Picking flowers or making flower crowns, dancing in a light spring rain, visiting a lake on a hot day, drinking hot cocoa, eating toffee apples, ice skating, snowball fights or building snowmen... Fluffy and happy, soft and tender, food or sport or relaxation, I just crave more of this.
- Also, Christmas. I love Christmas. You could go historically accurate here, but I won't notice if you aren't. Baking and eating gingerbread, buying or making presents for each other, playing charades, wrapping up warm to go carolling, cuddling up together by the fire with a hot drink... Do they decorate a tree, in the Marches' house or in Laurie's? Maybe Laurie gets a mistletoe kiss on the cheek from each of the girls - or the girls give them to each other. Those scenes of them eating Christmas dinner are just so cosy.
- I'd love to see them putting on a play. Any part of the process - arguing about roles, practising scenes, doing rewrites, making or trying on their costumes, a dress rehearsal, and/or the final performance... I love the creativity, the bustle, the taking on of roles, the opportunities for banter/bickering or for hilarious mistakes. Marmee suggested Laurie would have to fight Jo for the male roles - does she win? Does he have to play a girl? Can Beth be urged into a small role or does she stick to providing music?
- Some mild hurt/comfort would be great. Could be four of them all (fighting to) look after one at the same time, or maybe four rotating through shifts of keeping the hurt one company. Maybe one of them slipped while walking in the snow? Got caught in the rain and now has a chill? Or a fever, and now keeps having nightmares? Hurt their foot while dancing (again)? The full aftermath of Amy falling through the ice? Maybe Laurie is sick and can't leave his house, so the girls bring all their bustle to his bedroom? I'd just love to see them all being soft and concerned (or affectionately providing noisy distractions).
- Maybe something a little angstier - Laurie just as he's getting to know them, pining to be part of their family? Already included, but worried he'll always be an outsider? Maybe specifically worrying that shy Beth won't open up to him - or Beth as she nervously gets to know him, trying to be brave, forging that affectionate bond? Or maybe two of the sisters have had another little argument about something, and are worried they won't make up - maybe one (or more) of the others could help them patch it up?
- I'd love a Hogwarts AU for them. Maybe Laurie has just transferred from another school, and meets the March sisters on the train? Or he and Jo meet while playing/trying out for Quidditch? Or he bumps into one of them somewhere else? No preference on who's in which house. I just think the cosy vibes of the film would translate well to these five eating in the Great Hall, exploring Hogsmeade, doing homework in the library, causing shenanigans in lessons, sneaking out at night, or sneaking Laurie into places he's not meant to be... (Also if you move the era to modern-ish Hogwarts, feel free to have Jo be a trans boy!)
Visual Prompts
- Each of them holding their matching ribboned keys.
- Laughing as they attempt to practise for a play, dressed in their homemade costumes. (Fine if Jo is playing a boy and/or Laurie is playing a girl.)
- One of them has mildly injured themselves and the others all crowd around to fuss over them.
- Eating a picnic.
- Celebrating Christmas together.
- Cuddled up by the hearth, possibly dozing on each other.
- Lazing around together, in the attic or elsewhere, as they read or write or draw or attempt to distract each other.
Narrative Prompts
- More of Nicholas cooking for Mia? Maybe she's worrying about losing the crown and can't sleep, so goes to get a midnight snack, and he just happens to want one too - and there's both softness and tension as he prepares and shares something amazing. Or them as an established couple: flirting over a normal breakfast, Nicholas learning Mia's favourite foods, or him going all out with a special romantic dinner.
- Dealing with the press or public officials now that Mia's queen. Maybe after the scandal of Mia's broken engagement and being caught sleeping in Nicholas's arms the press are even more interested in all the gossip - and the two of them have to rely on each other during a series of intense "look, we're engaged" press events. Or maybe something fluffier and more humourous, with Nicholas subtly helping to support Mia as she mingles at an event.
- Or silly fluff based on Mia's continuing clumsiness. Nicholas seemed amused and forgiving when she stepped on his foot the first time, and when she fell on him climbing down from her window. So more of that: Mia causing minor chaos and Nicholas calmly dealing with it, or maybe a fall results in an intimate position that gets them riled up and means they spend the rest of an event jittering because they're desperate to be alone.
- I'd be interested to see how these two and their dynamic play out in other settings: steampunk AU, daemon AU, Hogwarts AU? Regency AU, where the scandal with Nicholas almost ruins her? Or Mia can't convince parliament to change the law and Nicholas has to marry her right then so she can keep the crown? Fantasy AU where they're both competing to be the next leader of a dragonrider battalion? Or a genderswap: how does the plot change if Nicholas is Nicola, and also needs to marry to get the crown?
- Presumably they're going to need children to be heirs to the crown, so anything to do with that. Soft fluffy moments during pregnancy as they look forward to their first child - or hurt/comfort where Mia has morning sickness and Nicholas looks after her. The joys of raising their kids together: maybe Nicholas using his skill for accents to read a bedtime story while Mia's heart melts? Or maybe some breeding kink smut, as they prepare to make that baby.
- Mia said she's never been in love before, so is she a virgin? Would love to see experienced Nicholas slowly and gently taking her virginity - and being surprised himself at how intense and intimate sex is with a partner he loves. Do they have a short engagement and wait until their wedding night? Or do they decide to take that step before then, once they feel secure in their feelings and trust?
- Maybe Mia's rule continues into the bedroom and she enthusiastically, if somewhat awkwardly, doms a happily submissive Nicholas. Or maybe at the end of the day she wants to relax and let him take control, so he doms her instead. Kneeling, collaring, bondage, pegging and swearing of fealty all very welcome. (Or maybe discipline or painplay? I'll be honest: when Nicholas said "you can step on my foot anytime", my brain heard "hurt me, mistress", so...)
- Omega Mia goes into heat. Maybe they get trapped in a closet, pre-relationship, and the air's full of scent and tension - but alpha Nicholas never crosses the line, and just gently comforts her instead of taking advantage. (Maybe, against her better judgement, she lets him hold her close so she can smell his calming alpha scent.) Or maybe some enthusiastic mating and knotting once they're an established couple.
Visual Prompts
- Cuddling on a sofa. (Possibly with Fat Louie on someone's lap.)
- Dancing together at a ball.
- Holding hands at the altar during their wedding ceremony.
- Nicholas carrying Mia in his arms.
- Mia watching Nicholas cook.
- Nicholas giving Mia another hands-on lesson in archery - or something else!
- One of them cuddling the other in bed after a nightmare.
- Waving from a balcony as they announce their engagement.
- Hiding in a quiet corner (or a closet) to kiss.
- Mia riding Nicholas's cock.
- Nicholas leaning down to kiss Mia as he fucks her.
- One of them tied to the bed while the other caresses them.

Narrative Prompts
- Maybe they meet at an art gallery, striking up a conversation as they inspect the same painting. Does Lestat intrigue Benedict by making insightful comments? Or amuse him by making the scathing critique that Benedict was thinking but not saying, due to Danbury's trick with Granville that time? Maybe it's actually Benedict's own painting, and Lestat's compliments lead them to the studio - or a dark and private corner. Or maybe they're both distracted by the same, surprisingly erotic, statue?
- Or maybe they meet at the opera. Does Lestat impress Benedict with his deep knowledge? Make him laugh with some cutting remarks about the subpar performance? Seduce him during the interval?
- Or maybe they run into each other at the gentleman's club. Did Lestat charm his way in alone? Was he brought as a guest - but fixates on Benedict instead as soon as their eyes meet? Maybe Lestat and Benedict end up playing cards together - but as the game draws on and the other players drop out, the wagers start getting unexpectedly... intimate.
- Lestat is so good for teasing and flirtation. If you want to do something where he playfully seduces an increasingly flustered Benedict via honeyed words, that would be great fun to see! (My focus for this prompt is the humour and/or tension, so I'm totally fine with fade to black - or Benedict getting overwhelmed and fleeing the situation. But if you do want it to progress to smut...)
- Lestat's mind gift could create some fun too. Maybe Benedict thinks Lestat is just predicting his thoughts really well - but is dazzled, intrigued and/or unsettled by it all the same. Maybe Lestat uses it while they're kissing or even having sex, and Benedict realises this is a predator who can read his mind - but the things Lestat's using it for feel too good to deny.
- I always love a good blood drinking scene. With or without a side of smut, make it as sensual as you like.
- However they meet, maybe the end result is them having sex together - whether it's a stolen moment of pleasure in a dark corner, heightened by the frisson of possible discovery, or a slower and more sensual exploration in private, I think these two could have a great time. Maybe you want to do this as an AU where Lestat is Benedict's first sexual experience with a man. Or maybe this is a Benedict who's already confident sleeping with other men - though maybe he feels a little hesitation, because he either suspects or discovers that Lestat is a vampire. But that's not going to stop him. Is it a sensual vanilla experience? Or does Lestat, with all his experience and vampire ennui, introduce Benedict to some kinks to spice things up?
Visual Prompts
- Lestat leaning close to a flustered Benedict, in a dark corner of an art gallery or opera box or wherever...
- Sharing a carriage - and making the most of that privacy.
- Benedict painting a portrait of a seductively lounging (and possibly naked) Lestat.
- Lestat drinking Benedict's blood.
- Playing a card game together - possibly with their cravats undone and jackets removed (or more) due to sexy bets.
- Undressing each other.
- Benedict tangling his fingers in Lestat's hair as they kiss - or fuck.
Narrative Prompts
- I love the idea that Henry and Phoebe exchange phone numbers after their adventure together, and strike up a friendship. Maybe texting about their superhero troubles (or how much Max and/or Piper are getting on their nerves today) slowly builds an understanding between them, leading to softer and genuine feelings. Maybe Phoebe doesn't notice her changing feelings, just thinking of Henry as a friend - till she hears that Kid Danger has been killed in the blimp crash and she panics, suddenly realising what he means to her. Maybe Henry visits Phoebe in Hiddenville before that and they hang out, with the more relaxed atmosphere helping them grow closer.
- Or they only meet again when they have to team up to take down a supervillain. Maybe they work together so well it gets them thinking about partnering up in other ways. Maybe the danger and adrenaline leads them to sharing a kiss. Maybe Phoebe gets injured, and Henry's gentle concern sets her heart fluttering - or Henry gets injured, and his vulnerability stirs an unexpected kind of protective urge in Phoebe. Maybe the villain's plan even causes some tropey fun - like an accidental soulbond, or Henry and Phoebe getting magically handcuffed together, or having to go undercover as a couple.
- Phoebe is a born supe and had years to master her powers, plus a whole family to get advice from; Henry didn't get his forcefield till he was eighteen, and his mentor's superpower is a passive one. Maybe Henry asks Phoebe to help him practise and perfect his skills. Or maybe he starts off just asking for some tips, but Phoebe being Phoebe can't resist a geeky project - and offers him some hands-on training, leading them to get up close and personal.
- After a tiring adventure taking down a supervillain, established couple Henry and Phoebe go home and snuggle on the sofa together, maybe order a pizza and just get to relax. Or some domestic fluff on a calm day with no dangers - even if their superpowers cause a little chaos. Show me some sleepy cuddles in bed. Or a fun and bantery breakfast together. Or going on a date to a cool science exhibit - and it doesn't even get invaded by a supervillain.
- Or maybe an established relationship with a side of hurt/comfort - sharing a bed doesn't stop Henry's nightmares about all the trauma he experienced as a teen sidekick, but it does mean Phoebe's there to gently calm him down. Or maybe, before they even get together, a villain traps them somewhere overnight - and when Henry finally dozes off, he accidentally wakes them both up with his cries.
- Henry and Phoebe bump into each other at The Supies/Supe Awards. Maybe Phoebe doesn't recognise this handsome dark-haired guy and tries to get her flirt on, only to be flustered when he cheerfully reveals they've met before. Maybe she does know it's him, but Henry's awkward charm is more welcome now he's all grownup and looks like that. Maybe they kept in contact and built a friendship offscreen, and all the glitz and glamour leads to a fun evening full of giggles... or to a one night stand.
- With all the demands of being Kid Danger, Henry didn't really have a chance to date in his late teens, so maybe he's still a virgin when he leaves Swellview. He wants his first time to be with someone he trusts, and when he meets up with his old friend Phoebe - who's now giving him approving glances - he decides to ask her to do the deed...
- Now confident and competent superheroes in their early twenties, Henry and Phoebe team up to take on a supervillain. There's a new and mature frisson between them - and it's incredibly hard to stay professional when that supervillain's plan includes dousing Henry and Phoebe in sex pollen.
