I love that they're both competent, but that Diana really got to shine as a badass - and that Steve, despite the attitudes of his time period, was impressed by her. Diana is so determined and forthright, but the culture clash and her mostly-theoretical knowledge means she starts off quite naive and has to learn how to deal with the complexities of the wider world. Steve is trying hard to be a good man and make a difference, but he's clearly seen terrible things during the war and he has to be haunted by them.
They make such a good team, both as adventurers and as a couple, and I'd love to see them in a happy established relationship. Feel free to do a canon divergence AU where Steve survives the first film, or else find some other way for them to be together and stay together. Or a missing scene. (Or just not explain how these two are back together, beyond the fact that they ought to be, damnit.)

We don't really get any focused moments between these two in the film, but Doric actually seems like the least hostile to Xenk from the beginning - ironic considering her stance on humans started as "hateful and selfish" and "just can't help but lie"... but then Xenk and his ridiculous paladin goodness are so obviously the opposite of that! If Xenk joined the party for further adventures, I like to imagine they'd become good friends, and then fall in love (maybe after mutually pining).
I love Doric's combination of a sharp tongue with her moral integrity and intense environmental concern, and how that contrasts and blends with Xenk's stern intensity, his awkward ways, and his own intense sense of justice and goodness. They're both visibly outsiders in ways the others aren't, so maybe they would have a natural understanding - or they'd bond over the angst of losing their families because of it.
(Please don't mention Simon and Doric breaking up. I'd rather you give them an open relationship, make it an AU where they were never into each other, or just ignore that ship altogether.)

I can't tell you how excited I was to see a canon male-female relationship that will explicitly only ever be platonic, and yet is vitally important to their lives. I love how they clearly care for and respect each other, despite being so different, and how they use their different skills to achieve their goals together.
I would be happy to see anything about the two of them, set at any point from when they first meet to after the events of the film. I just want to see them bantering, working together, protecting each other, being best friends and co-parents. I love seeing little hints of affection peeking through Holga's gruffness, and I love Edgin feeling secure enough to drop his cheerful mask. But I also love them being genuinely happy together.

I have so many feelings about these two. I love their banter and how they spark off each other, how Edgin sees Xenk as an enemy but then grows to respect him and doesn't want him to leave, how Xenk is frustrated with Edgin's criminal tendencies but fully believes in his goodness and is determined to draw it out... Making Edgin swear on the Harper's seal, then tenderly touching his hand? In fact, all of the hand-holding, and the offers of hand-holding. I'd love to see how their relationship develops after the film, with a softer friendship blossoming into romance. (And more touching. Lots of touching. And banter.)
I do enjoy interpretations where Xenk is a virgin, because he's been so dedicated to his duty and/or thought his curse meant he couldn't be with anyone. Also up for autistic Xenk and/or ADHD Edgin.

I want all the super soft platonic or familial feelings here, with maybe a bit of angst due to Kira's time with Forge. After her experience there, Kira might be hesitant to bond with Xenk - but I'd love to see him winning her over with some gentle attention. Whatever her scars, whatever Edgin might've said about Thayans in the past, and however stern Xenk might initially appear, his innate goodness is so incredibly obvious that even a slightly fragile t(w)een girl is going to see it pretty quick. Or maybe some pure fluff once she's accepted him - even if he hasn't realised it yet. Or something soft and fun and lightly teasing once they're comfortable together.

I love how soft Simon gets around Doric and I'd love to see her showing a softer side to him in return. (I do love Doric's spikiness though.) And I love that over the course of the film, she was very interested every time Simon's competency was shown or discussed - she was always into him, she just had this one dealbreaker, and then he fixed it! (Well, maybe he didn't entirely fix it: I love Simon having more confidence, but it might be nice to see him struggle a little - with Doric encouraging him, now she's convinced of his capability.) Does Doric have a competency kink?
Maybe their courting is awkward at first, possibly hampered by Simon's tendency to break things or fall over, but I absolutely believe they're a good match and would love to see a happy relationship grow between them. I tend to imagine Simon is a virgin, due to all his awkwardness at romance, and considering how disliked tieflings are Doric might be one too. But maybe she has some experience, and confidently reassures a nervous Simon.

Simon is awkward and sulky in the face of this, even though he's perfectly willing to trust Edgin and follow his lead in other areas - maybe Simon is pining, and can't let himself believe that Edgin cares about him, or is worried about opening his heart? If they did get together, would Edgin's charm and confidence continue, or would he be more earnest and vulnerable?

I loved the awkward, tender, intimate relationship these two developed. They're both outsiders, both struggling with their families and their queer identities, and in the liminal space of late night TV they found a place where they could reveal their secrets and see themselves/each other in ways nobody else could. Despite the horror of the outside world, they found a softness and a hope together, even if it didn't last.
I'm interested in both "they really are Tara and Isabel, trapped in the Midnight Realm" and "the Pink Opaque isn't real; all of the strange happenings are caused by the mental strain of suppressing their queer identities" interpretations. I'd love a missing scene when they were teenagers, or canon divergence where Owen chooses to "wake up" (in whatever sense), and I'm fine with you fucking with the timeline or using unreliable narration even amongst the fluff. (Especially to make Owen an adult before Maddy leaves, as I DNW underage sex.)
As Maddy is a lesbian, I'd prefer Owen to be transfem, genderqueer or nonbinary - but it's fine if that's implied or ambiguous. (Also fine for it to be an ambiguous relationship or pre-relationship. Or queerplatonic if you're going with aro/ace Owen.) She/her or they/them is fine, even pre-transition. He/him also fine before Owen realises/accepts, or for that realisation/acceptance not to happen before the end of the work. (Though if that's the case, as this is a fluff exchange please focus on other aspects rather than the gender dysphoria, though it's fine to allude to it.) If Owen changes names, Isabel is an obvious choice, but other names beginning with O are welcome, eg Olivia, Oluremi, Opal, Ophelia...

Jake is so sweet, and I love how he'd created a system to minimise the impact of his bad luck - and how happy he was once things started going his way. Ashley started off charmingly oblivious, and I loved her journey towards understanding and valuing hard work - and rejecting an easy life for a life full of love. It'd be great to see her continue to grow. They were so cute and had such fun chemistry even when they were friends - and were so supportive and eager to help each other even before they realised they'd switched luck. I'd love to see them just generally being sweet and happy together. (And I'm fine with their bad luck being used for humour as long as the results aren't permanent/catastrophic.)

I love the gentle, tender romance that develops between these two. Robert is clearly attracted to Elizabeth from the moment they meet, but out of respect for her autonomy or for his first wife, he refuses to claim his "marital rights". Elizabeth is resigned to her duty, striding into her new life despite the flicker of fear over physical intimacy - and when she discovers that sex is off the table, it gives her space to fall in love with him.
I love the quiet, sometimes awkward moments of daily life, encountering each other in corridors and repeatedly saying goodnight - as well as Elizabeth developing a strong bond with Marjorie. But I also love the bolder, more political moments, from the ceremonies to Elizabeth displaying her political nouse and swearing herself to him. They match each other on every level - ruling together, laughing together, supporting each other's needs, whether big or small - and their love is deep and genuine. I was so pleased that she was the one to invite him to bed, and that he waited for her without question, resulting in a tender and passionate consummation. And I love that - despite her being a determined, intelligent queen and him being a complex, canny leader capable of brutality - when they're laughing and kissing they feel more like awkward, earnest teenage lovers embarking on innocent first love. If you want to try and capture all those nuances, you're very welcome to - but I'd be happy with something that highlights just one aspect.
You're very welcome to include Marjorie, or their other historical children, as well as references to Robert's relationship with his first wife. Also, don't feel you need to be historically accurate at all - the film clearly isn't! If you do happen to know about the period, feel free to use that knowledge to expand on the film, though please don't change anything established by the movie. But if you know nothing, and you make up something believable or just work from wikipedia - I don't know anything either so I won't notice if it's wrong, lmao.

This is such a great example of enemies to lovers. I love that they're kind and flirty at their first meeting, because they're immediately attracted to each other, and that even once they're enemies they can't hide that sexual tension. But their enmity is based on both seeking something only one of them can have rather than ideological differences: Nicholas seems more motivated by whether Mia's going to be a good queen and whether she really knows Genovia (and by his uncle's influence), and not a personal hunger for power. So once he's convinced of her capability (and she of his sincerity) and he gives up his claim to the crown, there's no question about whether they'd be able to find common ground.
I love both the push-and-pull of Nicholas flirting and Mia trying to resist (in the closet, by the fountain, the deleted scene in the kitchen) as well as them being soft and friendly with each other: Nicholas supporting Mia by helping with her archery, and the night they spend together before her wedding where we see them opening up emotionally, dancing close, and falling asleep in each other's arms. So I'd love a post-canon continuation of that as their relationship develops, or is fully established.
I liked Andrew as a character so no bashing of him please, and I'm also happy for Clarisse/Joe to be in the background, or for Lilly to visit again. Or cute appearances by Fat Louie the cat or Maurice the dog!

I loved the soft relationship these two had. Calm, confident, practical Amaya organising things to smooth Magnifico's work, but also gently steering and comforting him when he's tempted by darkness. Focused, arrogant, brilliant Magnifico dazzling his subjects, but revealing a softer and more vulnerable side when alone with his wife, happily taking her advice.
Despite his downfall, I do believe he really loved her, so I'd prefer them to be happily together at the end of the fic - even if things are complicated. I DNW breakups, so I don't want to see her abandon him because the book has turned him irreversibly evil. But Magnifico using the book and Amaya freeing him from its influence, resulting in them reuniting, is totally fine. As is canon divergence where he never uses the book, or a missing scene or pre-canon fluffiness.

We don't really get any focused moments between these two in the film, but Doric actually seems like the least hostile to Xenk from the beginning - ironic considering her stance on humans started as "hateful and selfish" and "just can't help but lie"... but then Xenk and his ridiculous paladin goodness are so obviously the opposite of that! If Xenk joined the party for further adventures, I like to imagine they'd become good friends, and then fall in love (maybe after mutually pining).
I love Doric's combination of a sharp tongue with her moral integrity and intense environmental concern, and how that contrasts and blends with Xenk's stern intensity, his awkward ways, and his own intense sense of justice and goodness. They're both visibly outsiders in ways the others aren't, so maybe they would have a natural understanding - or they'd bond over the angst of losing their families because of it.

I can't tell you how excited I was to see a canon male-female relationship that will explicitly only ever be platonic, and yet is vitally important to their lives. I love how they clearly care for and respect each other, despite being so different, and how they use their different skills to achieve their goals together.
I would be happy to see anything about the two of them, set at any point from when they first meet to after the events of the film. I just want to see them bantering, working together, protecting each other, being best friends and co-parents. I love seeing little hints of affection peeking through Holga's gruffness, and I love Edgin feeling secure enough to drop his cheerful mask. But I also love them being genuinely happy together.

I have so many feelings about these two. I love their banter and how they spark off each other, how Edgin sees Xenk as an enemy but then grows to respect him and doesn't want him to leave, how Xenk is frustrated with Edgin's criminal tendencies but fully believes in his goodness and is determined to draw it out... Making Edgin swear on the Harper's seal, then tenderly touching his hand? In fact, all of the hand-holding, and the offers of hand-holding. I'd love to see how their relationship develops after the film, with a softer friendship blossoming into romance. (And more touching. Lots of touching. And banter.)
I do enjoy interpretations where Xenk is a virgin, because he's been so dedicated to his duty and/or thought his curse meant he couldn't be with anyone. Also up for autistic Xenk and/or ADHD Edgin.

I want all the super soft platonic or familial feelings here, with maybe a bit of angst due to Kira's time with Forge. After her experience there, Kira might be hesitant to bond with Xenk - but I'd love to see him winning her over with some gentle attention. Whatever her scars, whatever Edgin might've said about Thayans in the past, and however stern Xenk might initially appear, his innate goodness is so incredibly obvious that even a slightly fragile t(w)een girl is going to see it pretty quick. Or maybe some pure fluff once she's accepted him - even if he hasn't realised it yet. Or something soft and fun and lightly teasing once they're comfortable together.

I love how soft Simon gets around Doric and I'd love to see her showing a softer side to him in return. (I do love Doric's spikiness though.) And I love that over the course of the film, she was very interested every time Simon's competency was shown or discussed - she was always into him, she just had this one dealbreaker, and then he fixed it! (Well, maybe he didn't entirely fix it: I love Simon having more confidence, but it might be nice to see him struggle a little - with Doric encouraging him, now she's convinced of his capability.) Does Doric have a competency kink?
Maybe their courting is awkward at first, possibly hampered by Simon's tendency to break things or fall over, but I absolutely believe they're a good match and would love to see a happy relationship grow between them. I tend to imagine Simon is a virgin, due to all his awkwardness at romance, and considering how disliked tieflings are Doric might be one too. But maybe she has some experience, and confidently reassures a nervous Simon.

I loved the awkward, tender, intimate relationship these two developed. They're both outsiders, both struggling with their families and their queer identities, and in the liminal space of late night TV they found a place where they could reveal their secrets and see themselves/each other in ways nobody else could. Despite the horror of the outside world, they found a softness and a hope together, even if it didn't last.
I'm interested in both "they really are Tara and Isabel, trapped in the Midnight Realm" and "the Pink Opaque isn't real; all of the strange happenings are caused by the mental strain of suppressing their queer identities" interpretations. I'd love a missing scene when they were teenagers, or canon divergence where Owen chooses to "wake up" (in whatever sense), and I'm fine with you fucking with the timeline or using unreliable narration even amongst the fluff. (Especially to make Owen an adult before Maddy leaves, as I DNW underage sex.)
As Maddy is a lesbian, I'd prefer Owen to be transfem, genderqueer or nonbinary - but it's fine if that's implied or ambiguous. (Also fine for it to be an ambiguous relationship or pre-relationship. Or queerplatonic if you're going with aro/ace Owen.) She/her or they/them is fine, even pre-transition. He/him also fine before Owen realises/accepts, or for that realisation/acceptance not to happen before the end of the work. (Though if that's the case, as this is a fluff exchange please focus on other aspects rather than the gender dysphoria, though it's fine to allude to it.) If Owen changes names, Isabel is an obvious choice, but other names beginning with O are welcome, eg Olivia, Oluremi, Opal, Ophelia...

Jake is so sweet, and I love how he'd created a system to minimise the impact of his bad luck - and how happy he was once things started going his way. Ashley started off charmingly oblivious, and I loved her journey towards understanding and valuing hard work - and rejecting an easy life for a life full of love. It'd be great to see her continue to grow. They were so cute and had such fun chemistry even when they were friends - and were so supportive and eager to help each other even before they realised they'd switched luck. I'd love to see them just generally being sweet and happy together. (And I'm fine with their bad luck being used for humour as long as the results aren't permanent/catastrophic.)

I love the gentle, tender romance that develops between these two. Robert is clearly attracted to Elizabeth from the moment they meet, but out of respect for her autonomy or for his first wife, he refuses to claim his "marital rights". Elizabeth is resigned to her duty, striding into her new life despite the flicker of fear over physical intimacy - and when she discovers that sex is off the table, it gives her space to fall in love with him.
I love the quiet, sometimes awkward moments of daily life, encountering each other in corridors and repeatedly saying goodnight - as well as Elizabeth developing a strong bond with Marjorie. But I also love the bolder, more political moments, from the ceremonies to Elizabeth displaying her political nouse and swearing herself to him. They match each other on every level - ruling together, laughing together, supporting each other's needs, whether big or small - and their love is deep and genuine. I was so pleased that she was the one to invite him to bed, and that he waited for her without question, resulting in a tender and passionate consummation. And I love that - despite her being a determined, intelligent queen and him being a complex, canny leader capable of brutality - when they're laughing and kissing they feel more like awkward, earnest teenage lovers embarking on innocent first love. If you want to try and capture all those nuances, you're very welcome to - but I'd be happy with something that highlights just one aspect.
You're very welcome to include Marjorie, or their other historical children, as well as references to Robert's relationship with his first wife. Also, don't feel you need to be historically accurate at all - the film clearly isn't! If you do happen to know about the period, feel free to use that knowledge to expand on the film, though please don't change anything established by the movie. But if you know nothing, and you make up something believable or just work from wikipedia - I don't know anything either so I won't notice if it's wrong, lmao.

This is such a great example of enemies to lovers. I love that they're kind and flirty at their first meeting, because they're immediately attracted to each other, and that even once they're enemies they can't hide that sexual tension. But their enmity is based on both seeking something only one of them can have rather than ideological differences: Nicholas seems more motivated by whether Mia's going to be a good queen and whether she really knows Genovia (and by his uncle's influence), and not a personal hunger for power. So once he's convinced of her capability (and she of his sincerity) and he gives up his claim to the crown, there's no question about whether they'd be able to find common ground.
I love both the push-and-pull of Nicholas flirting and Mia trying to resist (in the closet, by the fountain, the deleted scene in the kitchen) as well as them being soft and friendly with each other: Nicholas supporting Mia by helping with her archery, and the night they spend together before her wedding where we see them opening up emotionally, dancing close, and falling asleep in each other's arms. So I'd love a post-canon continuation of that as their relationship develops, or is fully established.
I liked Andrew as a character so no bashing of him please, and I'm also happy for Clarisse/Joe to be in the background, or for Lilly to visit again. Or cute appearances by Fat Louie the cat or Maurice the dog!

I loved the soft relationship these two had. Calm, confident, practical Amaya organising things to smooth Magnifico's work, but also gently steering and comforting him when he's tempted by darkness. Focused, arrogant, brilliant Magnifico dazzling his subjects, but revealing a softer and more vulnerable side when alone with his wife, happily taking her advice.
Despite his downfall, I do believe he really loved her, so I'd prefer them to be happily together at the end of the fic - even if things are complicated. I DNW breakups, so I don't want to see her abandon him because the book has turned him irreversibly evil. But Magnifico using the book and Amaya freeing him from its influence, resulting in them reuniting, is totally fine. As is canon divergence where he never uses the book, or a missing scene or pre-canon fluffiness.
